King Jeroboam Set Up Calve Idol

經文: 歷代志下 11:14-15 利未人撇下他們的郊野和產業，來到猶大與耶路撒冷，是因耶羅波安和他的兒子拒絕他們，不許他們供祭司職分事奉耶和華。耶羅波安為邱壇、為鬼魔（原文作公山羊）、為自己所鑄造的牛犢設立祭司。
默想: 羅波安由於不能體恤百姓的困苦而失去民心，造成以色列十個支派叛離羅波安，轉而推舉耶羅波安為王。耶羅波安是因為耶和華派遣先知雅希亞去膏抹他為王的，但是，他被推舉為王之後，卻沒有專一敬拜侍奉耶和華，反而設立邱壇，驅逐利未人與祭司，自己另外鑄造牛犢、設立祭司，如此得罪耶和華，也種下北國以色列歷史中偶像崇拜的濫觴。求主保守我的心懷意念，能夠一生專一敬拜侍奉上帝，不要自己設立偶像。
題目: 以色列全境的祭司和利未人丟棄土地、財物，都遷移到南部猶大去，還有一些誠心尋求上主的人民跟隨利未人到耶路撒冷。試想:為了敬拜上主的緣故，你會放棄些什麼？
11:1 羅波安來到耶路撒冷，招聚猶大家和便雅憫家，共十八萬人，都是挑選的戰士，要與以色列人爭戰，好將國奪回再歸自己。
When Rehobo'am came to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah, and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen warriors, to fight against Israel, to restore the kingdom to Rehobo'am.
11:2 但耶和華的話臨到神人示瑪雅說：
But the word of the LORD came to Shemai'ah the man of God:
11:3 「你去告訴所羅門的兒子猶大王羅波安和住猶大、便雅憫的以色列眾人說，
"Say to Rehobo'am the son of Solomon king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin,
11:4 耶和華如此說：『你們不可上去與你們的弟兄爭戰，各歸各家去吧！因為這事出於我。』」眾人就聽從耶和華的話歸回，不去與耶羅波安爭戰。
`Thus says the LORD, You shall not go up or fight against your brethren. Return every man to his home, for this thing is from me.'" So they hearkened to the word of the LORD, and returned and did not go against Jerobo'am.
11:5 羅波安住在耶路撒冷，在猶大地修築城邑，
Rehobo'am dwelt in Jerusalem, and he built cities for defense in Judah.
11:6 為保障修築伯利恆、以坦、提哥亞、
He built Bethlehem, Etam, Teko'a,
11:7 伯•夙、梭哥、亞杜蘭、
Beth-zur, Soco, Adullam,
11:8 迦特、瑪利沙、西弗、
Gath, Mare'shah, Ziph,
11:9 亞多萊音、拉吉、亞西加、
Adora'im, Lachish, Aze'kah,
11:10 瑣拉、亞雅崙、希伯崙。這都是猶大和便雅憫的堅固城。
Zorah, Ai'jalon, and Hebron, fortified cities which are in Judah and in Benjamin.
11:11 羅波安又堅固各處的保障，在其中安置軍長，又預備下糧食、油、酒。
He made the fortresses strong, and put commanders in them, and stores of food, oil, and wine.
11:12 他在各城裡預備盾牌和槍，且使城極其堅固。猶大和便雅憫都歸了他。
And he put shields and spears in all the cities, and made them very strong. So he held Judah and Benjamin.
11:13 以色列全地的祭司和利未人都從四方來歸羅波安。
And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him from all places where they lived.
11:14 利未人撇下他們的郊野和產業，來到猶大與耶路撒冷，是因耶羅波安和他的兒子拒絕他們，不許他們供祭司職分事奉耶和華。
For the Levites left their common lands and their holdings and came to Judah and Jerusalem, because Jerobo'am and his sons cast them out from serving as priests of the LORD,
11:15 耶羅波安為邱壇、為鬼魔【原文作公山羊】、為自己所鑄造的牛犢設立祭司。
and he appointed his own priests for the high places, and for the satyrs, and for the calves which he had made.
11:16 以色列各支派中，凡立定心意尋求耶和華─以色列 神的，都隨從利未人，來到耶路撒冷祭祀耶和華─他們列祖的 神。
And those who had set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came after them from all the tribes of Israel to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
11:17 這樣，就堅固猶大國，使所羅門的兒子羅波安強盛三年，因為他們三年遵行大衛和所羅門的道。
They strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and for three years they made Rehobo'am the son of Solomon secure, for they walked for three years in the way of David and Solomon.
11:18 羅波安娶大衛兒子耶利摩的女兒瑪哈拉為妻，又娶耶西兒子以利押的女兒亞比孩為妻。
Rehobo'am took as wife Ma'halath the daughter of Jer'imoth the son of David, and of Ab'ihail the daughter of Eli'ab the son of Jesse;
11:19 從她生了幾個兒子，就是耶烏施、示瑪利雅、撒罕。
and she bore him sons, Je'ush, Shemari'ah, and Zaham.
11:20 後來又娶押沙龍的女兒瑪迦【十三章二節作烏列的女兒米該雅】，從她生了亞比雅、亞太、細撒、示羅密。
After her he took Ma'acah the daughter of Ab'salom, who bore him Abi'jah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelo'mith.
11:21 羅波安娶十八個妻，立六十個妾，生二十八個兒子，六十個女兒；他卻愛押沙龍的女兒瑪迦，比愛別的妻妾更甚。
Rehobo'am loved Ma'acah the daughter of Ab'salom above all his wives and concubines (he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and had twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters);
11:22 羅波安立瑪迦的兒子亞比雅作太子，在他弟兄中為首，因為想要立他接續作王。
and Rehobo'am appointed Abi'jah the son of Ma'acah as chief prince among his brothers, for he intended to make him king.
11:23 羅波安辦事精明，使他眾子分散在猶大和便雅憫全地各堅固城裡，又賜他們許多糧食，為他們多尋妻子。
And he dealt wisely, and distributed some of his sons through all the districts of Judah and Benjamin, in all the fortified cities; and he gave them abundant provisions, and procured wives for them.
When Rehobo'am came to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah, and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen warriors, to fight against Israel, to restore the kingdom to Rehobo'am.
11:2 但耶和華的話臨到神人示瑪雅說：
But the word of the LORD came to Shemai'ah the man of God:
11:3 「你去告訴所羅門的兒子猶大王羅波安和住猶大、便雅憫的以色列眾人說，
"Say to Rehobo'am the son of Solomon king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin,
11:4 耶和華如此說：『你們不可上去與你們的弟兄爭戰，各歸各家去吧！因為這事出於我。』」眾人就聽從耶和華的話歸回，不去與耶羅波安爭戰。
`Thus says the LORD, You shall not go up or fight against your brethren. Return every man to his home, for this thing is from me.'" So they hearkened to the word of the LORD, and returned and did not go against Jerobo'am.
11:5 羅波安住在耶路撒冷，在猶大地修築城邑，
Rehobo'am dwelt in Jerusalem, and he built cities for defense in Judah.
