默想: 以斯拉聽見以色列百姓與異族通婚，得罪耶和華，他用撕裂自己的外袍與拔下自己的頭髮鬍鬚，坐在聖殿前面廣場，一直等到獻晚祭的時刻，當虔誠的以色列民聚集到聖殿前廣場來參加獻晚祭的禱告會時，都會發現以斯拉衣服撕裂、披頭散髮滿面悲愴的樣子。就在這樣的氛圍中，獻晚祭的時刻，以斯拉才當眾發出他的禱告。以斯拉的禱告並不是向耶和華控訴以色列百姓的犯罪，而是自己認同以色列人中的一份子，為整體以色列人在神面前認罪禱告。求主保守我，當我看到有人犯罪時，不要以譴責的眼光到神面前控訴該犯罪的人，求神彰顯公義的審判，而是願意謙卑認同罪人，向神祈求憐恤與赦免的恩典。

題目: 當以斯拉知道民中有人得罪上主時，他悲憤地撕裂衣服，跪下為他們禱告。(v1-15)試想你是曾迫切為軟弱的同工及跌倒的弟兄姐妹代求嗎？ 

 

9:1 這事做完了，眾首領來見我，說：「以色列民和祭司並利未人，沒有離絕迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亞捫人、摩押人、埃及人、亞摩利人，仍效法這些國的民，行可憎的事。
After these things had been done, the officials approached me and said, "The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands with their abominations, from the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Per'izzites, the Jeb'usites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
9:2 因他們為自己和兒子娶了這些外邦女子為妻，以致聖潔的種類和這些國的民混雜；而且首領和官長在這事上為罪魁。」
For they have taken some of their daughters to be wives for themselves and for their sons; so that the holy race has mixed itself with the peoples of the lands. And in this faithlessness the hand of the officials and chief men has been foremost."
9:3 我一聽見這事，就撕裂衣服和外袍，拔了頭髮和鬍鬚，驚懼憂悶而坐。
When I heard this, I rent my garments and my mantle, and pulled hair from my head and beard, and sat appalled.
9:4 凡為以色列　神言語戰兢的，都因這被擄歸回之人所犯的罪聚集到我這裡來。我就驚懼憂悶而坐，直到獻晚祭的時候。
Then all who trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the faithlessness of the returned exiles, gathered round me while I sat appalled until the evening sacrifice.
9:5 獻晚祭的時候我起來，心中愁苦，穿著撕裂的衣袍，雙膝跪下向耶和華─我的　神舉手，
And at the evening sacrifice I rose from my fasting, with my garments and my mantle rent, and fell upon my knees and spread out my hands to the LORD my God,
9:6 說：「我的　神啊，我抱愧蒙羞，不敢向我　神仰面；因為我們的罪孽滅頂，我們的罪惡滔天。
saying: "O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to thee, my God, for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has mounted up to the heavens.
9:7 從我們列祖直到今日，我們的罪惡甚重；因我們的罪孽，我們和君王、祭司都交在外邦列王的手中，殺害、擄掠、搶奪、臉上蒙羞正如今日的光景。
From the days of our fathers to this day we have been in great guilt; and for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering, and to utter shame, as at this day.
9:8 現在耶和華─我們的　神暫且施恩與我們，給我們留些逃脫的人，使我們安穩如釘子釘在他的聖所，我們的　神好光照我們的眼目，使我們在受轄制之中稍微復興。
But now for a brief moment favor has been shown by the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant, and to give us a secure hold within his holy place, that our God may brighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our bondage.
9:9 我們是奴僕，然而在受轄制之中，我們的　神仍沒有丟棄我們，在波斯王眼前向我們施恩，叫我們復興，能重建我們　神的殿，修其毀壞之處，使我們在猶大和耶路撒冷有牆垣。
For we are bondmen; yet our God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but has extended to us his steadfast love before the kings of Persia, to grant us some reviving to set up the house of our God, to repair its ruins, and to give us protection in Judea and Jerusalem.
9:10 「我們的　神啊，既是如此，我們還有甚麼話可說呢？因為我們已經離棄你的命令，
"And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken thy commandments,
9:11 就是你藉你僕人眾先知所吩咐的說：『你們要去得為業之地是污穢之地；因列國之民的污穢和可憎的事，叫全地從這邊直到那邊滿了污穢。
which thou didst command by thy servants the prophets, saying, `The land which you are entering, to take possession of it, is a land unclean with the pollutions of the peoples of the lands, with their abominations which have filled it from end to end with their uncleanness.
9:12 所以不可將你們的女兒嫁他們的兒子，也不可為你們的兒子娶他們的女兒，永不可求他們的平安和他們的利益，這樣你們就可以強盛，吃這地的美物，並遺留這地給你們的子孫永遠為業。』
Therefore give not your daughters to their sons, neither take their daughters for your sons, and never seek their peace or prosperity, that you may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.'
9:13 　神啊，我們因自己的惡行和大罪，遭遇了這一切的事，並且你刑罰我們輕於我們罪所當得的，又給我們留下這些人。
And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds and for our great guilt, seeing that thou, our God, hast punished us less than our iniquities deserved and hast given us such a remnant as this,
9:14 我們豈可再違背你的命令，與這行可憎之事的民結親呢？若這樣行，你豈不向我們發怒，將我們滅絕，以致沒有一個剩下逃脫的人嗎？
shall we break thy commandments again and intermarry with the peoples who practice these abominations? Wouldst thou not be angry with us till thou wouldst consume us, so that there should be no remnant, nor any to escape?
9:15 耶和華─以色列的　神啊，因你是公義的，我們這剩下的人才得逃脫，正如今日的光景。看哪，我們在你面前有罪惡，因此無人在你面前站立得住。」
O LORD the God of Israel, thou art just, for we are left a remnant that has escaped, as at this day. Behold, we are before thee in our guilt, for none can stand before thee because of this."

經文: 以斯拉記 6:19-21 正月十四日，被擄歸回的人守逾越節。原來，祭司和利未人一同自潔，無一人不潔淨。利未人為被擄歸回的眾人和他們的弟兄眾祭司，並為自己宰逾越節的羊羔。從擄到之地歸回的以色列人和一切除掉所染外邦人污穢、歸附他們、要尋求耶和華以色列神的人都吃這羊羔。

默想: 當聖殿重建完工時，被擄歸回的以色列人都潔淨自己，歡歡喜喜的守逾越節。他們也接納外邦人當中，願意除去污穢、歸附耶和華的人，也可以一起來吃逾越節的羊羔。在這裡我們看到猶大人跨越種族優越的排他性，接納願意敬拜耶和華的外邦人加入他們，一起吃逾越節的羊羔。主耶穌降世時，也向門徒說，我另外有羊，不是這圈裡的；我必須領他們來，他們也要聽我的聲音，並且要合成一群，歸一個牧人了。(約10:16) 這是主耶穌的心意，但願我們也有如此寬廣接納的心胸與愛心，能夠幫助更多的人，也一起進入主愛的羊圈，一起領受主愛的恩典。

題目: 大流士皇帝下令繼續建殿，並於他在位第六年完工。以色列民都歡歡喜喜地舉行奉獻聖殿的典禮，試想上帝的殿是否成為你歡喜聚會與快樂服侍的中心？ 

 

6:1 於是大利烏王降旨，要尋察典籍庫內，就是在巴比倫藏寶物之處；
Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in Babylonia, in the house of the archives where the documents were stored.
6:2 在瑪代省亞馬他城的宮內尋得一卷，其中記著說：
And in Ecbat'ana, the capital which is in the province of Media, a scroll was found on which this was written: "A record.
6:3 「古列王元年，他降旨論到耶路撒冷　神的殿，要建造這殿為獻祭之處，堅立殿的根基。殿高六十肘，寬六十肘，
In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king issued a decree: Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the house be rebuilt, the place where sacrifices are offered and burnt offerings are brought; its height shall be sixty cubits and its breadth sixty cubits,
6:4 用三層大石頭，一層新木頭，經費要出於王庫；
with three courses of great stones and one course of timber; let the cost be paid from the royal treasury.
6:5 並且　神殿的金銀器皿，就是尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷的殿中掠到巴比倫的，要歸還帶到耶路撒冷的殿中，各按原處放在　神的殿裡。」
And also let the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnez'zar took out of the temple that is in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, be restored and brought back to the temple which is in Jerusalem, each to its place; you shall put them in the house of God."
6:6 「現在河西的總督達乃和示他波斯乃，並你們的同黨，就是住河西的亞法薩迦人，你們當遠離他們。
"Now therefore, Tat'tenai, governor of the province Beyond the River, She'thar-boz'enai, and your associates the governors who are in the province Beyond the River, keep away;
6:7 不要攔阻　神殿的工作，任憑猶大人的省長和猶大人的長老在原處建造　神的這殿。
let the work on this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews rebuild this house of God on its site.
6:8 我又降旨，吩咐你們向猶大人的長老為建造　神的殿當怎樣行，就是從河西的款項中，急速撥取貢銀作他們的經費，免得耽誤工作。
Moreover I make a decree regarding what you shall do for these elders of the Jews for the rebuilding of this house of God; the cost is to be paid to these men in full and without delay from the royal revenue, the tribute of the province from Beyond the River.
6:9 他們與天上的　神獻燔祭所需用的公牛犢、公綿羊、綿羊羔，並所用的麥子、鹽、酒、油，都要照耶路撒冷祭司的話，每日供給他們，不得有誤；
And whatever is needed -- young bulls, rams, or sheep for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, or oil, as the priests at Jerusalem require -- let that be given to them day by day without fail,
6:10 好叫他們獻馨香的祭給天上的　神，又為王和王眾子的壽命祈禱。
that they may offer pleasing sacrifices to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his sons.
6:11 我再降旨，無論誰更改這命令，必從他房屋中拆出一根梁來，把他舉起，懸在其上，又使他的房屋成為糞堆。
Also I make a decree that if any one alters this edict, a beam shall be pulled out of his house, and he shall be impaled upon it, and his house shall be made a dunghill.
6:12 若有王和民伸手更改這命令，拆毀這殿，願那使耶路撒冷的殿作為他名居所的　神將他們滅絕。我─大利烏降這旨意，當速速遵行。」
May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow any king or people that shall put forth a hand to alter this, or to destroy this house of God which is in Jerusalem. I Darius make a decree; let it be done with all diligence."
6:13 於是，河西總督達乃和示他•波斯乃，並他們的同黨，因大利烏王所發的命令，就急速遵行。
Then, according to the word sent by Darius the king, Tat'tenai, the governor of the province Beyond the River, She'thar-boz'enai, and their associates did with all diligence what Darius the king had ordered.
6:14 猶大長老因先知哈該和易多的孫子撒迦利亞所說勸勉的話就建造這殿，凡事亨通。他們遵著以色列　神的命令和波斯王古列、大利烏、亞達薛西的旨意，建造完畢。
And the elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechari'ah the son of Iddo. They finished their building by command of the God of Israel and by decree of Cyrus and Darius and Ar-ta-xerx'es king of Persia;
6:15 大利烏王第六年，亞達月初三日，這殿修成了。
and this house was finished on the third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
6:16 以色列的祭司和利未人，並其餘被擄歸回的人都歡歡喜喜地行奉獻　神殿的禮。
And the people of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and the rest of the returned exiles, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy.
6:17 行奉獻　神殿的禮就獻公牛一百隻，公綿羊二百隻，綿羊羔四百隻，又照以色列支派的數目獻公山羊十二隻，為以色列眾人作贖罪祭；
They offered at the dedication of this house of God one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs, and as a sin offering for all Israel twelve he-goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.
6:18 且派祭司和利未人按著班次在耶路撒冷事奉　神，是照摩西律法書上所寫的。
And they set the priests in their divisions and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God at Jerusalem, as it is written in the book of Moses.
6:19 正月十四日，被擄歸回的人守逾越節。
On the fourteenth day of the first month the returned exiles kept the passover.
6:20 原來，祭司和利未人一同自潔，無一人不潔淨。利未人為被擄歸回的眾人和他們的弟兄眾祭司，並為自己宰逾越節的羊羔。
For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were clean. So they killed the passover lamb for all the returned exiles, for their fellow priests, and for themselves;
6:21 從擄到之地歸回的以色列人和一切除掉所染外邦人污穢、歸附他們、要尋求耶和華─以色列　神的人都吃這羊羔，
it was eaten by the people of Israel who had returned from exile, and also by every one who had joined them and separated himself from the pollutions of the peoples of the land to worship the LORD, the God of Israel.
6:22 歡歡喜喜地守除酵節七日；因為耶和華使他們歡喜，又使亞述王的心轉向他們，堅固他們的手，作以色列　神殿的工程。
And they kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy; for the LORD had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

經文: 以斯拉記 5:1-2 那時，先知哈該和易多的孫子撒迦利亞奉以色列神的名向猶大和耶路撒冷的猶大人說勸勉的話。於是撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約薩達的兒子耶書亞都起來動手建造耶路撒冷神的殿，有神的先知在那裡幫助他們。

默想: 猶太人被擄歸回，重建聖殿，由於與鄰近人民關係不好，以致於遭到他們上奏波斯王亞達薛西下令停工。一直停到改朝換代，大利烏王在位，河西總督也換人之後，在先知哈該與撒迦利亞的鼓勵之下，所羅巴伯與領袖們才又動工，繼續進行聖殿重建的工程。這回河西總督達乃的處理看來比以前的省長利宏對於猶大人較為友善與寬厚。達乃對於猶大人的重建聖殿還是心存疑慮，但是他先來請教猶大人與重建聖殿相關的資訊，然後他沒有強迫猶大人立刻，而是把猶大人所提出的資訊上呈烏利亞王，請烏利亞王明查後降旨曉諭。以前的省長利宏是以造謠抹黑的手腕騙取不明事理的亞達薛西下令停工的結果。求主幫助我，當對事情有疑慮時，會採取比較友善信任的態度來回應與處置。

題目: 從聖殿被迫停工到重新動工，經過一段時間。在這其中上主仍看顧保守猶太人(v5)。試想當你陷入困境，感受不到上帝時，你是否仍然相信上帝與你同在？ 

 

5:1 那時，先知哈該和易多的孫子撒迦利亞奉以色列　神的名向猶大和耶路撒冷的猶大人說勸勉的話。
Now the prophets, Haggai and Zechari'ah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem, in the name of the God of Israel who was over them.
5:2 於是撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約薩達的兒子耶書亞都起來動手建造耶路撒冷　神的殿，有　神的先知在那裡幫助他們。
Then Zerub'babel the son of She-al'ti-el and Jeshua the son of Jo'zadak arose and began to rebuild the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and with them were the prophets of God, helping them.
5:3 當時河西的總督達乃和示他•波斯乃，並他們的同黨來問說：「誰降旨讓你們建造這殿，修成這牆呢？」
At the same time Tat'tenai the governor of the province Beyond the River and She'thar-boz'enai and their associates came to them and spoke to them thus, "Who gave you a decree to build this house and to finish this structure?"
5:4 我們便告訴他們建造這殿的人叫甚麼名字。
They also asked them this, "What are the names of the men who are building this building?"
5:5 　神的眼目看顧猶大的長老，以致總督等沒有叫他們停工，直到這事奏告大利烏，得著他的回諭。
But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, and they did not stop them till a report should reach Darius and then answer be returned by letter concerning it.
5:6 河西的總督達乃和示他•波斯乃，並他們的同黨，就是住河西的亞法薩迦人，上本奏告大利烏王。
The copy of the letter which Tat'tenai the governor of the province Beyond the River and She'thar-boz'enai and his associates the governors who were in the province Beyond the River sent to Darius the king;
5:7 本上寫著說：「願大利烏王諸事平安。
they sent him a report, in which was written as follows: "To Darius the king, all peace.
5:8 王該知道，我們往猶大省去，到了至大　神的殿，這殿是用大石建造的。梁木插入牆內，工作甚速，他們手下亨通。
Be it known to the king that we went to the province of Judah, to the house of the great God. It is being built with huge stones, and timber is laid in the walls; this work goes on diligently and prospers in their hands.
5:9 我們就問那些長老說：『誰降旨讓你們建造這殿，修成這牆呢？』
Then we asked those elders and spoke to them thus, `Who gave you a decree to build this house and to finish this structure?'
5:10 又問他們的名字，要記錄他們首領的名字，奏告於王。
We also asked them their names, for your information, that we might write down the names of the men at their head.
5:11 他們回答說：『我們是天地之　神的僕人，重建前多年所建造的殿，就是以色列的一位大君王建造修成的。
And this was their reply to us: `We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are rebuilding the house that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.
5:12 只因我們列祖惹天上的　神發怒，　神把他們交在迦勒底人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的手中，他就拆毀這殿，又將百姓擄到巴比倫。
But because our fathers had angered the God of heaven, he gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnez'zar king of Babylon, the Chalde'an, who destroyed this house and carried away the people to Babylonia.
5:13 然而巴比倫王古列元年，他降旨允准建造　神的這殿。
However in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, Cyrus the king made a decree that this house of God should be rebuilt.
5:14 　神殿中的金、銀器皿，就是尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷的殿中掠去帶到巴比倫廟裡的，古列王從巴比倫廟裡取出來，交給派為省長的，名叫設巴薩，
And the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnez'zar had taken out of the temple that was in Jerusalem and brought into the temple of Babylon, these Cyrus the king took out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered to one whose name was Shesh-baz'zar, whom he had made governor;
5:15 對他說可以將這些器皿帶去，放在耶路撒冷的殿中，在原處建造　神的殿。
and he said to him, "Take these vessels, go and put them in the temple which is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be rebuilt on its site."
5:16 於是這設巴薩來建立耶路撒冷　神殿的根基。這殿從那時直到如今尚未造成。』
Then this Shesh-baz'zar came and laid the foundations of the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and from that time until now it has been in building, and it is not yet finished.'
5:17 現在王若以為美，請察巴比倫王的府庫，看古列王降旨允准在耶路撒冷建造　神的殿沒有，王的心意如何？請降旨曉諭我們。」
Therefore, if it seem good to the king, let search be made in the royal archives there in Babylon, to see whether a decree was issued by Cyrus the king for the rebuilding of this house of God in Jerusalem. And let the king send us his pleasure in this matter."

默想: 這段經文透露出一個很微妙的信息。猶大與便雅憫的敵人來見所羅巴伯與以色列族長，要求參與聖殿的建造，卻被所羅巴伯與以色列各族長回絕，結果是這些人就來擾亂與攔阻聖殿的重建。我們無法深入瞭解這些人來請求參與建造聖殿時內心確實的想法為何。我們也不知道後來這些人來擾亂與攔阻聖殿重建工程進行的動機是如何。但是，有關教會各項侍奉的參與，是要歡迎所有願意侍奉的人都來參與，或是要嚴格規定只有受過洗的基督徒才能參與。不同的教會有不同的作法。我們的教會是採取比較寬鬆鼓勵的作法。願神教導我們，讓我們明白在聖工服侍上面，要如何邀請人來參與才是合神心意、討神歡喜。

題目: 「當地的居民就想阻止並恐嚇猶太人，不讓他們建造」，試想服侍中遇到阻撓時，你會如何面對？ 

 

4:1 猶大和便雅憫的敵人聽說被擄歸回的人為耶和華─以色列的　神建造殿宇，
Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the returned exiles were building a temple to the LORD, the God of Israel,
4:2 就去見所羅巴伯和以色列的族長，對他們說：「請容我們與你們一同建造；因為我們尋求你們的　神，與你們一樣。自從亞述王以撒哈頓帶我們上這地以來，我們常祭祀　神。」
they approached Zerub'babel and the heads of fathers' houses and said to them, "Let us build with you; for we worship your God as you do, and we have been sacrificing to him ever since the days of E'sar-had'don king of Assyria who brought us here."
4:3 但所羅巴伯、耶書亞，和其餘以色列的族長對他們說：「我們建造　神的殿與你們無干，我們自己為耶和華─以色列的　神協力建造，是照波斯王古列所吩咐的。」
But Zerub'babel, Jeshua, and the rest of the heads of fathers' houses in Israel said to them, "You have nothing to do with us in building a house to our God; but we alone will build to the LORD, the God of Israel, as King Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us."
4:4 那地的民，就在猶大人建造的時候，使他們的手發軟，擾亂他們；
Then the people of the land discouraged the people of Judah, and made them afraid to build,
4:5 從波斯王古列年間，直到波斯王大利烏登基的時候，賄買謀士，要敗壞他們的謀算。
and hired counselors against them to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.
4:6 在亞哈隨魯才登基的時候，上本控告猶大和耶路撒冷的居民。
And in the reign of Ahasu-e'rus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.
4:7 亞達薛西年間，比施蘭、米特利達、他別，和他們的同黨上本奏告波斯王亞達薛西。本章是用亞蘭文字，亞蘭方言。
And in the days of Ar-ta-xerx'es, Bishlam and Mith'redath and Tab'eel and the rest of their associates wrote to Ar-ta-xerx'es king of Persia; the letter was written in Aramaic and translated.
4:8 省長利宏、書記伸帥要控告耶路撒冷人，也上本奏告亞達薛西王。
Rehum the commander and Shim'shai the scribe wrote a letter against Jerusalem to Ar-ta-xerx'es the king as follows --
4:9 省長利宏、書記伸帥，和同黨的底拿人、亞法薩提迦人、他毗拉人、亞法撒人、亞基衛人、巴比倫人、書珊迦人、底亥人、以攔人，
then wrote Rehum the commander, Shim'shai the scribe, and the rest of their associates, the judges, the governors, the officials, the Persians, the men of Erech, the Babylonians, the men of Susa, that is, the Elamites,
4:10 和尊大的亞斯那巴所遷移、安置在撒馬利亞城，並大河西一帶地方的人等，
and the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Osnap'par deported and settled in the cities of Sama'ria and in the rest of the province Beyond the River, and now
4:11 上奏亞達薛西王說：「河西的臣民云云：
this is a copy of the letter that they sent -- "To Ar-ta-xerx'es the king: Your servants, the men of the province Beyond the River, send greeting. And now
4:12 王該知道，從王那裡上到我們這裡的猶大人，已經到耶路撒冷重建這反叛惡劣的城，築立根基，建造城牆。
be it known to the king that the Jews who came up from you to us have gone to Jerusalem. They are rebuilding that rebellious and wicked city; they are finishing the walls and repairing the foundations.
4:13 如今王該知道，他們若建造這城，城牆完畢就不再與王進貢，交課，納稅，終久王必受虧損。
Now be it known to the king that, if this city is rebuilt and the walls finished, they will not pay tribute, custom, or toll, and the royal revenue will be impaired.
4:14 我們既食御鹽，不忍見王吃虧，因此奏告於王。
Now because we eat the salt of the palace and it is not fitting for us to witness the king's dishonor, therefore we send and inform the king,
4:15 請王考察先王的實錄，必在其上查知這城是反叛的城，與列王和各省有害；自古以來，其中常有悖逆的事，因此這城曾被拆毀。
in order that search may be made in the book of the records of your fathers. You will find in the book of the records and learn that this city is a rebellious city, hurtful to kings and provinces, and that sedition was stirred up in it from of old. That was why this city was laid waste.
4:16 我們謹奏王知，這城若再建造，城牆完畢，河西之地王就無分了。」
We make known to the king that, if this city is rebuilt and its walls finished, you will then have no possession in the province Beyond the River."
4:17 那時王諭覆省長利宏、書記伸帥，和他們的同黨，就是住撒馬利亞並河西一帶地方的人，說：「願你們平安云云。
The king sent an answer: "To Rehum the commander and Shim'shai the scribe and the rest of their associates who live in Sama'ria and in the rest of the province Beyond the River, greeting. And now
4:18 你們所上的本，已經明讀在我面前。
the letter which you sent to us has been plainly read before me.
4:19 我已命人考查，得知此城古來果然背叛列王，其中常有反叛悖逆的事。
And I made a decree, and search has been made, and it has been found that this city from of old has risen against kings, and that rebellion and sedition have been made in it.
4:20 從前耶路撒冷也有大君王統管河西全地，人就給他們進貢，交課，納稅。
And mighty kings have been over Jerusalem, who ruled over the whole province Beyond the River, to whom tribute, custom, and toll were paid.
4:21 現在你們要出告示命這些人停工，使這城不得建造，等我降旨。
Therefore make a decree that these men be made to cease, and that this city be not rebuilt, until a decree is made by me.
4:22 你們當謹慎，不可遲延，為何容害加重，使王受虧損呢？」
And take care not to be slack in this matter; why should damage grow to the hurt of the king?"
4:23 亞達薛西王的上諭讀在利宏和書記伸帥，並他們的同黨面前，他們就急忙往耶路撒冷去見猶大人，用勢力強迫他們停工。
Then, when the copy of King Ar-ta-xerx'es' letter was read before Rehum and Shim'shai the scribe and their associates, they went in haste to the Jews at Jerusalem and by force and power made them cease.
4:24 於是，在耶路撒冷　神殿的工程就停止了，直停到波斯王大利烏第二年。
Then the work on the house of God which is in Jerusalem stopped; and it ceased until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

經文: 以斯拉記 3:12-13 然而有許多祭司、利未人、族長，就是見過舊殿的老年人，現在親眼看見立這殿的根基，便大聲哭號，也有許多人大聲歡呼，甚至百姓不能分辨歡呼的聲音和哭號的聲音；因為眾人大聲呼喊，聲音聽到遠處。

默想: 這是令人感動與感嘆的時刻，對於從來沒有見過所羅門王所建造那輝煌聖殿的第二代或第三代歸國的猶太後裔來說，這是令人感到興奮感動的時刻，他們會情不自禁的大聲歡呼，感謝耶和華的恩典。對於那一批曾經親眼看過所羅門王所建造那金碧輝煌的聖殿，並且經歷過亡國被擄他鄉，經過七十個年頭的白髮長輩來說，看到聖殿舊址荒涼的景況，以及重建聖殿將要面對的種種困難與挑戰，難忍心中滿腹心酸，止不住就放聲大哭，感謝耶和華的信實。這是令人悲喜交集的時刻。感謝主，和平教會重建聖殿，相信和平兄姐中的長輩與年輕一輩，對於上帝的信實與恩惠，應當也會有各種不同的感動，讓我們一起舉起手向神感恩。

題目: 當以色列人開始奠立聖殿根基，感謝讚美說：「上主至善，他對以色列的愛永遠長存。」(v10-11)試回想當初我們建造聖殿時，是否有如以色列民感謝、讚美上帝？ 

 

3:1 到了七月，以色列人住在各城；那時他們如同一人，聚集在耶路撒冷。
When the seventh month came, and the sons of Israel were in the towns, the people gathered as one man to Jerusalem.
3:2 約薩達的兒子耶書亞和他的弟兄眾祭司，並撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯與他的弟兄，都起來建築以色列　神的壇，要照神人摩西律法書上所寫的，在壇上獻燔祭。
Then arose Jeshua the son of Jo'zadak, with his fellow priests, and Zerub'babel the son of She-al'ti-el with his kinsmen, and they built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings upon it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
3:3 他們在原有的根基上築壇，因懼怕鄰國的民，又在其上向耶和華早晚獻燔祭，
They set the altar in its place, for fear was upon them because of the peoples of the lands, and they offered burnt offerings upon it to the LORD, burnt offerings morning and evening.
3:4 又照律法書上所寫的守住棚節，按數照例獻每日所當獻的燔祭；
And they kept the feast of booths, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number according to the ordinance, as each day required,
3:5 其後獻常獻的燔祭，並在月朔與耶和華的一切聖節獻祭，又向耶和華獻各人的甘心祭。
and after that the continual burnt offerings, the offerings at the new moon and at all the appointed feasts of the LORD, and the offerings of every one who made a freewill offering to the LORD.
3:6 從七月初一日起，他們就向耶和華獻燔祭。但耶和華殿的根基尚未立定。
From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.
3:7 他們又將銀子給石匠、木匠，把糧食、酒、油給西頓人、泰爾人，使他們將香柏樹從黎巴嫩運到海裡，浮海運到約帕，是照波斯王古列所允准的。
So they gave money to the masons and the carpenters, and food, drink, and oil to the Sido'nians and the Tyrians to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant which they had from Cyrus king of Persia.
3:8 百姓到了耶路撒冷　神殿的地方。第二年二月，撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯，約薩達的兒子耶書亞和其餘的弟兄，就是祭司、利未人，並一切被擄歸回耶路撒冷的人，都興工建造；又派利未人，從二十歲以外的，督理建造耶和華殿的工作。
Now in the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerub'babel the son of She-al'ti-el and Jeshua the son of Jo'zadak made a beginning, together with the rest of their brethren, the priests and the Levites and all who had come to Jerusalem from the captivity. They appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of the house of the LORD.
3:9 於是猶大（在二章四十節作何達威雅）的後裔，就是耶書亞和他的子孫與弟兄，甲篾和他的子孫，利未人希拿達的子孫與弟兄，都一同起來，督理那在　神殿做工的人。
And Jeshua with his sons and his kinsmen, and Kad'mi-el and his sons, the sons of Judah, together took the oversight of the workmen in the house of God, along with the sons of Hen'adad and the Levites, their sons and kinsmen.
3:10 匠人立耶和華殿根基的時候，祭司皆穿禮服吹號，亞薩的子孫利未人敲鈸，照以色列王大衛所定的例，都站著讚美耶和華。
And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests in their vestments came forward with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the LORD, according to the directions of David king of Israel;
3:11 他們彼此唱和，讚美稱謝耶和華說：他本為善，他向以色列人永發慈愛。他們讚美耶和華的時候，眾民大聲呼喊，因耶和華殿的根基已經立定。
and they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the LORD, "For he is good, for his steadfast love endures for ever toward Israel." And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.
3:12 然而有許多祭司、利未人、族長，就是見過舊殿的老年人，現在親眼看見立這殿的根基，便大聲哭號，也有許多人大聲歡呼，
But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers' houses, old men who had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice when they saw the foundation of this house being laid, though many shouted aloud for joy;
3:13 甚至百姓不能分辨歡呼的聲音和哭號的聲音；因為眾人大聲呼喊，聲音聽到遠處。
so that the people could not distinguish the sound of the joyful shout from the sound of the people's weeping, for the people shouted with a great shout, and the sound was heard afar.

經文: 以斯拉記 1:5-7 於是，猶大和便雅憫的族長、祭司、利未人，就是一切被神激動他心的人，都起來要上耶路撒冷去建造耶和華的殿。他們四圍的人就拿銀器、金子、財物、牲畜、珍寶幫助他們（原文作堅固他們的手），另外還有甘心獻的禮物。古列王也將耶和華殿的器皿拿出來，這器皿是尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷掠來、放在自己神之廟中的。

默想: 猶太人在亡國七十年之後，在人看來毫無可能之情況下，耶和華興起波斯王古列，消滅了巴比倫帝國，耶和華並且激動波斯王古列的心，讓他對於被他征服統治的各國人民，改採用懷柔政策。這種國際情勢的變換，彰顯出耶和華是全世界的主宰，君王的心在耶和華手中，好像隴溝的水隨意流轉。(箴21:1) 耶和華另外也激動被擄在巴比倫的猶太人政治宗教領袖們的心，讓他們願意離開已經安定居住的海外生活，迢迢千里回到故鄉，從事辛苦的聖殿重建工程，至於無法歸國參加的人，則心甘情願的把自己的資源捐出，參與建殿，波斯王古列自己，是把巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷掠來、放在自己神之廟中的金銀器皿都捐出來。感謝神，聖殿的重建是您興起各種不同的人，大家同心合意才能建造完成。

題目: 先知耶利米預言「歸國」的時候到了，波斯王就如此說：「耶和華天上的上帝，…又囑咐我為他建殿…」(v1-4)，試想，你是否願意耐心等候上帝的時間來到？

 

1:1 波斯王古列元年，耶和華為要應驗藉耶利米口所說的話，就激動波斯王古列的心，使他下詔通告全國說：
In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:
1:2 「波斯王古列如此說：『耶和華天上的　神已將天下萬國賜給我，又囑咐我在猶大的耶路撒冷為他建造殿宇。
"Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
1:3 在你們中間凡作他子民的，可以上猶大的耶路撒冷，在耶路撒冷重建耶和華─以色列　神的殿（只有他是　神）。願　神與這人同在。
Whoever is among you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel -- he is the God who is in Jerusalem;
1:4 凡剩下的人，無論寄居何處，那地的人要用金銀、財物、牲畜幫助他，另外也要為耶路撒冷　神的殿甘心獻上禮物。』」
and let each survivor, in whatever place he sojourns, be assisted by the men of his place with silver and gold, with goods and with beasts, besides freewill offerings for the house of God which is in Jerusalem."
1:5 於是，猶大和便雅憫的族長、祭司、利未人，就是一切被　神激動他心的人，都起來要上耶路撒冷去建造耶和華的殿。
Then rose up the heads of the fathers' houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, every one whose spirit God had stirred to go up to rebuild the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem;
1:6 他們四圍的人就拿銀器、金子、財物、牲畜、珍寶幫助他們（原文是堅固他們的手），另外還有甘心獻的禮物。
and all who were about them aided them with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, with beasts, and with costly wares, besides all that was freely offered.
1:7 古列王也將耶和華殿的器皿拿出來，這器皿是尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷掠來、放在自己神之廟中的。
Cyrus the king also brought out the vessels of the house of the LORD which Nebuchadnez'zar had carried away from Jerusalem and placed in the house of his gods.
1:8 波斯王古列派庫官米提利達將這器皿拿出來，按數交給猶大的首領設巴薩。
Cyrus king of Persia brought these out in charge of Mith'redath the treasurer, who counted them out to Shesh-baz'zar the prince of Judah.
1:9 器皿的數目記在下面：金盤三十個，銀盤一千個，刀二十九把，
And this was the number of them: a thousand basins of gold, a thousand basins of silver, twenty-nine censers,
1:10 金碗三十個，銀碗之次的四百一十個，別樣的器皿一千件。
thirty bowls of gold, two thousand four hundred and ten bowls of silver, and a thousand other vessels;
1:11 金銀器皿共有五千四百件。被擄的人從巴比倫上耶路撒冷的時候，設巴薩將這一切都帶上來。
all the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand four hundred and sixty-nine. All these did Shesh-baz'zar bring up, when the exiles were brought up from Babylonia to Jerusalem.
