全新四年樂活讀經
經文: 歷代志下 14:4-6 吩咐猶大人尋求耶和華他們列祖的神，遵行他的律法、誡命；又在猶大各城邑除掉邱壇和日像，那時國享太平；又在猶大建造了幾座堅固城。國中太平數年，沒有戰爭，因為耶和華賜他平安。
默想: 南國猶大在經歷兩任不專心尋求耶和華的國王羅波安 (代下12:14) 與亞比雅 (王上15:3 譯為亞比央) 之後，終於出現一位專心尋求耶和華的國王亞撒。亞撒王做了三件事，首先他吩咐猶大人要專心尋求耶和華，並且遵行他的律法與誡命。接著亞撒王要除去邱壇與偶像崇拜。然後亞撒王還在各地建造堅固城邑，築牆蓋樓、安門做閂，享受耶和華所賞賜的四境平安十年。從這段經文我們看到，要享受上帝所賞賜的平安，我們必須先與上帝建立親蜜且專一的關係，專心尋求耶和華，並且除去心中所有的偶像。另外，我們還要盡力做到防守自己，免於遭遇敵人攻擊的一切必要措施，如此，我們才能享受從上帝所賞賜的真正平安。求主保守我，專一愛你，去除心中一切偶像，並且盡己力保守自己免於受敵人攻擊的一切設施，好讓我可以享受從上帝所賞賜的真正平安。
題目: 亞撒行耶和華眼中看為正、為善的事。試想:你作了的，在耶和華眼中看為什麼？
14:1 亞比雅與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城裡。他兒子亞撒接續他作王。亞撒年間，國中太平十年。
So Abi'jah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land had rest for ten years.
14:2 亞撒行耶和華─他 神眼中看為善為正的事，
And Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God.
14:3 除掉外邦神的壇和邱壇，打碎柱像，砍下木偶，
He took away the foreign altars and the high places, and broke down the pillars and hewed down the Ashe'rim,
14:4 吩咐猶大人尋求耶和華─他們列祖的 神，遵行他的律法、誡命；
and commanded Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, and to keep the law and the commandment.
14:5 又在猶大各城邑除掉邱壇和日像，那時國享太平；
He also took out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the incense altars. And the kingdom had rest under him.
14:6 又在猶大建造了幾座堅固城。國中太平數年，沒有戰爭，因為耶和華賜他平安。
He built fortified cities in Judah, for the land had rest. He had no war in those years, for the LORD gave him peace.
14:7 他對猶大人說：「我們要建造這些城邑，四圍築牆，蓋樓，安門，做閂；地還屬我們，是因尋求耶和華─我們的 神；我們既尋求他，他就賜我們四境平安。」於是建造城邑，諸事亨通。
And he said to Judah, "Let us build these cities, and surround them with walls and towers, gates and bars; the land is still ours, because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought him, and he has given us peace on every side." So they built and prospered.
14:8 亞撒的軍兵，出自猶大拿盾牌拿槍的三十萬人；出自便雅憫拿盾牌拉弓的二十八萬人。這都是大能的勇士。
And Asa had an army of three hundred thousand from Judah, armed with bucklers and spears, and two hundred and eighty thousand men from Benjamin, that carried shields and drew bows; all these were mighty men of valor.
14:9 有古實王謝拉率領軍兵一百萬，戰車三百輛，出來攻擊猶大人，到了瑪利沙。
Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and three hundred chariots, and came as far as Mare'shah.
14:10 於是亞撒出去與他迎敵，就在瑪利沙的洗法谷彼此擺陣。
And Asa went out to meet him, and they drew up their lines of battle in the valley of Zeph'athah at Mare'shah.
14:11 亞撒呼求耶和華─他的 神說：「耶和華啊，惟有你能幫助軟弱的，勝過強盛的。耶和華─我們的 神啊，求你幫助我們；因為我們仰賴你，奉你的名來攻擊這大軍。耶和華啊，你是我們的 神，不要容人勝過你。」
And Asa cried to the LORD his God, "O LORD, there is none like thee to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on thee, and in thy name we have come against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee."
14:12 於是耶和華使古實人敗在亞撒和猶大人面前，古實人就逃跑了；
So the LORD defeated the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.
14:13 亞撒和跟隨他的軍兵追趕他們，直到基拉耳。古實人被殺的甚多，不能再強盛，因為敗在耶和華與他軍兵面前。猶大人就奪了許多財物，
Asa and the people that were with him pursued them as far as Gerar, and the Ethiopians fell until none remained alive; for they were broken before the LORD and his army. The men of Judah carried away very much booty.
14:14 又打破基拉耳四圍的城邑；耶和華使其中的人都甚恐懼。猶大人又將所有的城擄掠一空，因其中的財物甚多，
And they smote all the cities round about Gerar, for the fear of the LORD was upon them. They plundered all the cities, for there was much plunder in them.
14:15 又毀壞了群畜的圈，奪取許多的羊和駱駝，就回耶路撒冷去了。
And they smote the tents of those who had cattle, and carried away sheep in abundance and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.
