經文: 撒母耳記上 22:8 你們竟都結黨害我！我的兒子與耶西的兒子結盟的時候，無人告訴我；我的兒子挑唆我的臣子謀害我，就如今日的光景，也無人告訴我，為我憂慮。
默想: 掃羅王由於大衛的表現非常優異，得到以色列眾民的歡喜，對於大衛產生嫉妒與害怕。因此，掃羅王決心要下手殺死大衛才可以安心。雖然，大衛替以色列全國殺死巨人歌利亞，解救以色列人脫離非利士人的壓迫。大衛還用自己彈的一手好琴，為掃羅王彈琴解憂。掃羅王不只因為對於大衛的嫉妒與害怕，而想要殺死大衛，他甚至陷入被害妄想的痛苦中，所有不幫助他去追殺大衛的，掃羅都視為他們是與大衛結盟，來陷害他的敵人。如此一來，掃羅自己的兒子約拿單，女兒米甲，都成為是掃羅的敵人，這次連祭司亞希米勒，以及整座祭司城挪伯的男女老幼，都全部叫多益去殺死了。求主保守我，不要讓自己陷入這種恐怖的被害妄想裡面。
題目: 掃羅與大衛之間展開了攻防戰。此時掃羅竟叫以東人多益屠殺祭司 (v19)掃羅濫用王權為耶和華所惡，以致為祭司棄絕他轉而尋求大衛。由此看來似乎神選立大衛為王，同時也一步步預備，領他奔向王者之路！
22:1 大衛就離開那裡，逃到亞杜蘭洞。他的弟兄和他父親的全家聽見了，就都下到他那裡。
David departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam; and when his brothers and all his father's house heard it, they went down there to him.
22:2 凡受窘迫的、欠債的、心裡苦惱的都聚集到大衛那裡；大衛就作他們的頭目，跟隨他的約有四百人。
And every one who was in distress, and every one who was in debt, and every one who was discontented, gathered to him; and he became captain over them. And there were with him about four hundred men.
22:3 大衛從那裡往摩押的米斯巴去，對摩押王說：「求你容我父母搬來，住在你們這裡，等我知道 神要為我怎樣行。」
And David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, "Pray let my father and my mother stay with you, till I know what God will do for me."
22:4 大衛領他父母到摩押王面前。大衛住山寨多少日子，他父母也住摩押王那裡多少日子。
And he left them with the king of Moab, and they stayed with him all the time that David was in the stronghold.
22:5 先知迦得對大衛說：「你不要住在山寨，要往猶大地去。」大衛就離開那裡，進入哈列的樹林。
Then the prophet Gad said to David, "Do not remain in the stronghold; depart, and go into the land of Judah." So David departed, and went into the forest of Hereth.
22:6 掃羅在基比亞的拉瑪，坐在垂絲柳樹下，手裡拿著槍，眾臣僕侍立在左右。掃羅聽見大衛和跟隨他的人在何處，
Now Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men who were with him. Saul was sitting at Gib'e-ah, under the tamarisk tree on the height, with his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him.
22:7 就對左右侍立的臣僕說：「便雅憫人哪，你們要聽我的話！耶西的兒子能將田地和葡萄園賜給你們各人嗎？能立你們各人作千夫長百夫長嗎？
And Saul said to his servants who stood about him, "Hear now, you Benjaminites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, will he make you all commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds,
22:8 你們竟都結黨害我！我的兒子與耶西的兒子結盟的時候，無人告訴我；我的兒子挑唆我的臣子謀害我，就如今日的光景，也無人告訴我，為我憂慮。」
that all of you have conspired against me? No one discloses to me when my son makes a league with the son of Jesse, none of you is sorry for me or discloses to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day."
22:9 那時以東人多益站在掃羅的臣僕中，對他說：「我曾看見耶西的兒子到了挪伯，亞希突的兒子亞希米勒那裡。
Then answered Do'eg the E'domite, who stood by the servants of Saul, "I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahim'elech the son of Ahi'tub,
22:10 亞希米勒為他求問耶和華，又給他食物，並給他殺非利士人歌利亞的刀。」
and he inquired of the LORD for him, and gave him provisions, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine."
22:11 王就打發人將祭司亞希突的兒子亞希米勒和他父親的全家，就是住挪伯的祭司都召了來；他們就來見王。
Then the king sent to summon Ahim'elech the priest, the son of Ahi'tub, and all his father's house, the priests who were at Nob; and all of them came to the king.
22:12 掃羅說：「亞希突的兒子，要聽我的話！」他回答說：「主啊，我在這裡。」
And Saul said, "Hear now, son of Ahi'tub." And he answered, "Here I am, my lord."
22:13 掃羅對他說：「你為甚麼與耶西的兒子結黨害我，將食物和刀給他，又為他求問 神，使他起來謀害我，就如今日的光景？」
And Saul said to him, "Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, so that he has risen against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?"
22:14 亞希米勒回答王說：「王的臣僕中有誰比大衛忠心呢？他是王的女婿，又是王的參謀，並且在王家中是尊貴的。
Then Ahim'elech answered the king, "And who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and captain over your bodyguard, and honored in your house?
22:15 我豈是從今日才為他求問 神呢？斷不是這樣！王不要將罪歸我和我父的全家；因為這事，無論大小，僕人都不知道。」
Is today the first time that I have inquired of God for him? No! Let not the king impute anything to his servant or to all the house of my father; for your servant has known nothing of all this, much or little."
22:16 王說：「亞希米勒啊，你和你父的全家都是該死的！」
And the king said, "You shall surely die, Ahim'elech, you and all your father's house."
22:17 王就吩咐左右的侍衛說：「你們去殺耶和華的祭司；因為他們幫助大衛，又知道大衛逃跑，竟沒有告訴我。」掃羅的臣子卻不肯伸手殺耶和華的祭司。
And the king said to the guard who stood about him, "Turn and kill the priests of the LORD; because their hand also is with David, and they knew that he fled, and did not disclose it to me." But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.
22:18 王吩咐多益說：「你去殺祭司吧！」以東人多益就去殺祭司，那日殺了穿細麻布以弗得的八十五人；
Then the king said to Do'eg, "You turn and fall upon the priests." And Do'eg the E'domite turned and fell upon the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.
22:19 又用刀將祭司城挪伯中的男女、孩童、吃奶的，和牛、羊、驢盡都殺滅。
And Nob, the city of the priests, he put to the sword; both men and women, children and sucklings, oxen, asses and sheep, he put to the sword.
22:20 亞希突的兒子亞希米勒有一個兒子，名叫亞比亞他，逃到大衛那裡。
But one of the sons of Ahim'elech the son of Ahi'tub, named Abi'athar, escaped and fled after David.
22:21 亞比亞他將掃羅殺耶和華祭司的事告訴大衛。
And Abi'athar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the LORD.
22:22 大衛對亞比亞他說：「那日我見以東人多益在那裡，就知道他必告訴掃羅。你父的全家喪命，都是因我的緣故。
And David said to Abi'athar, "I knew on that day, when Do'eg the E'domite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all the persons of your father's house.
22:23 你可以住在我這裡，不要懼怕。因為尋索你命的就是尋索我的命；你在我這裡可得保全。」
Stay with me, fear not; for he that seeks my life seeks your life; with me you shall be in safekeeping."
David departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam; and when his brothers and all his father's house heard it, they went down there to him.
22:2 凡受窘迫的、欠債的、心裡苦惱的都聚集到大衛那裡；大衛就作他們的頭目，跟隨他的約有四百人。
And every one who was in distress, and every one who was in debt, and every one who was discontented, gathered to him; and he became captain over them. And there were with him about four hundred men.
22:3 大衛從那裡往摩押的米斯巴去，對摩押王說：「求你容我父母搬來，住在你們這裡，等我知道 神要為我怎樣行。」

22:4 大衛領他父母到摩押王面前。大衛住山寨多少日子，他父母也住摩押王那裡多少日子。
And he left them with the king of Moab, and they stayed with him all the time that David was in the stronghold.
22:5 先知迦得對大衛說：「你不要住在山寨，要往猶大地去。」大衛就離開那裡，進入哈列的樹林。
Then the prophet Gad said to David, "Do not remain in the stronghold; depart, and go into the land of Judah." So David departed, and went into the forest of Hereth.

22:8 你們竟都結黨害我！我的兒子與耶西的兒子結盟的時候，無人告訴我；我的兒子挑唆我的臣子謀害我，就如今日的光景，也無人告訴我，為我憂慮。」
that all of you have conspired against me? No one discloses to me when my son makes a league with the son of Jesse, none of you is sorry for me or discloses to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day."
22:9 那時以東人多益站在掃羅的臣僕中，對他說：「我曾看見耶西的兒子到了挪伯，亞希突的兒子亞希米勒那裡。
Then answered Do'eg the E'domite, who stood by the servants of Saul, "I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahim'elech the son of Ahi'tub,
22:10 亞希米勒為他求問耶和華，又給他食物，並給他殺非利士人歌利亞的刀。」
and he inquired of the LORD for him, and gave him provisions, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine."
22:11 王就打發人將祭司亞希突的兒子亞希米勒和他父親的全家，就是住挪伯的祭司都召了來；他們就來見王。
Then the king sent to summon Ahim'elech the priest, the son of Ahi'tub, and all his father's house, the priests who were at Nob; and all of them came to the king.
22:12 掃羅說：「亞希突的兒子，要聽我的話！」他回答說：「主啊，我在這裡。」
And Saul said, "Hear now, son of Ahi'tub." And he answered, "Here I am, my lord."
22:13 掃羅對他說：「你為甚麼與耶西的兒子結黨害我，將食物和刀給他，又為他求問 神，使他起來謀害我，就如今日的光景？」
And Saul said to him, "Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, so that he has risen against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?"
22:14 亞希米勒回答王說：「王的臣僕中有誰比大衛忠心呢？他是王的女婿，又是王的參謀，並且在王家中是尊貴的。
Then Ahim'elech answered the king, "And who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and captain over your bodyguard, and honored in your house?
22:15 我豈是從今日才為他求問 神呢？斷不是這樣！王不要將罪歸我和我父的全家；因為這事，無論大小，僕人都不知道。」
Is today the first time that I have inquired of God for him? No! Let not the king impute anything to his servant or to all the house of my father; for your servant has known nothing of all this, much or little."
22:16 王說：「亞希米勒啊，你和你父的全家都是該死的！」
And the king said, "You shall surely die, Ahim'elech, you and all your father's house."
22:17 王就吩咐左右的侍衛說：「你們去殺耶和華的祭司；因為他們幫助大衛，又知道大衛逃跑，竟沒有告訴我。」掃羅的臣子卻不肯伸手殺耶和華的祭司。
And the king said to the guard who stood about him, "Turn and kill the priests of the LORD; because their hand also is with David, and they knew that he fled, and did not disclose it to me." But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.
22:18 王吩咐多益說：「你去殺祭司吧！」以東人多益就去殺祭司，那日殺了穿細麻布以弗得的八十五人；
Then the king said to Do'eg, "You turn and fall upon the priests." And Do'eg the E'domite turned and fell upon the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.
22:19 又用刀將祭司城挪伯中的男女、孩童、吃奶的，和牛、羊、驢盡都殺滅。

22:21 亞比亞他將掃羅殺耶和華祭司的事告訴大衛。
And Abi'athar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the LORD.
22:22 大衛對亞比亞他說：「那日我見以東人多益在那裡，就知道他必告訴掃羅。你父的全家喪命，都是因我的緣故。
And David said to Abi'athar, "I knew on that day, when Do'eg the E'domite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all the persons of your father's house.
22:23 你可以住在我這裡，不要懼怕。因為尋索你命的就是尋索我的命；你在我這裡可得保全。」
Stay with me, fear not; for he that seeks my life seeks your life; with me you shall be in safekeeping."

從撒上16-22這幾章經文裡，我們看到掃羅的被揀選，興起，起初上帝與他同在，賜給他新心，改變他成為新造的人。後來掃羅自大，不聽上帝的話，不謹守遵行祂的•誡命，不「信靠」神。擅自獻燔祭和平安祭，神的靈離開他，不再與他同在。接著上帝要撒母耳膏合神心意的大衛，大衛因為有神的同在（撒上18:12），越來越受歡迎。相反地，這時掃羅卻沒有神的同在而日漸低落：掃羅嫉妒大衛，而且更因大衛做事精明，事事成功而懼怕他（撒上18:15）。掃羅想要殺大衛，但不成功。 很可惜，掃羅不懂得愛惜人材，不懂得要交棒給大衛，不懂得栽培，準備讓大衛來接棒。大衛是掃羅的武士，是他的琴手，是他的賢女婿，應當要愛材。。。可是掃羅卻忌妒大衛，要加害於大衛，搞的全國大亂，最後喪失王位，失去民心。
同樣地，我們從這裡也看見：當上帝揀選一個領袖人材時，祂有一定的標準和程序，上帝所要使用的器皿，神的僕人，他們能有效率地為神國，為主的服事的長短，是有時間性的，有階段性的，並不是永久的。
記得林道亮院長每次在正道神學院每學期開學的第一個週三崇拜，一定請林道亮院長來校勉勵牧者及的師生們。記得他告訴我們要忠心地服事主，不要戀賤主任牧師/院長/主管的職位，不要認為服事工場上，非你不可；神若允許，到了應該退休的年齡，要懂得交棒。退休前10年就要開始培育神國的人材。要讓年青/中青代有為的牧者，有機會操練，服事，準備好作交棒的動作，不要讓神國的事工受到欄阻。因此，隨時願意有「交棒」來服事主的心態，是很重要的。據說1998年陳濟民牧師担任華神院長期間（1998-2004）六年期間，也是一樣的細心經營華神，願意隨時交棒，他刻意栽培，賴建國牧師，準備他成為一個全方位的續任的院長（2004-2009）。感謝神！預備這些不自私，為大局找想的忠心的牧者，他們懂得交棒，栽培後進的風範，實在值得我們效法學習的。阿們！
