經文: 撒母耳記上 14:26-29 他們進了樹林，見有蜜流下來，卻沒有人敢用手取蜜入口，因為他們怕那誓言。約拿單沒有聽見他父親叫百姓起誓，所以伸手中的杖，用杖頭蘸在蜂房裡，轉手送入口內，眼睛就明亮了。百姓中有一人對他說：「你父親曾叫百姓嚴嚴地起誓說，今日吃什麼的，必受咒詛；因此百姓就疲乏了。」約拿單說：「我父親連累你們了。你看，我嘗了這一點蜜，眼睛就明亮了。
默想: 約拿單的勇敢與打膽進入敵人營區，乃是造成這次掃羅軍隊大勝非利士人的主要原因。掃羅為了贏得更徹底的勝利，要求百姓起誓，不完全消滅敵人絕對不進食。百姓因此誓言而捱餓疲乏，約拿單雖然開始沒有聽到有關此禁止進食的誓言，因此，他吃了樹林中的蜂蜜而眼睛明亮，他也當眾抱怨父親叫百姓起這個誓的不恰當性。百姓過度饑餓的結果是饑不擇食，將所搶奪的牛羊就地宰殺，連血帶肉就囫圇吞下，而得罪了耶和華。掃羅殺非利士人殺紅了眼，雖然已經天黑了，還企圖連夜追擊。還好祭司提醒掃羅，要求問耶和華。但是耶和華卻不回答掃羅的求問。掃羅急著要找出誰是得罪耶和華的人，用抽籤的方法將約拿單找出來，然後掃羅就決定要將約拿單處以死刑，卻被百姓給攔了下來。這整個故事讓我們看到掃羅、約拿單與百姓都還有許多要學習的屬靈功課。求主幫助我，在你面前存心謙卑，願意承認自己的錯誤與不完全，更願意學習屬靈的功課，好讓我的靈命能不停的成長與成熟。
題目: 掃羅統治以色列的成就(v47-48)但他又有人性的另一面輕率的個性—輕率地起誓，這事提醒我們勿得意忘形！
14:1 有一日，掃羅的兒子約拿單對拿他兵器的少年人說：「我們不如過到那邊，到非利士人的防營那裡去。」但他沒有告訴父親。
One day Jonathan the son of Saul said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, let us go over to the Philistine garrison on yonder side." But he did not tell his father.
14:2 掃羅在基比亞的儘邊，坐在米磯崙的石榴樹下，跟隨他的約有六百人。
Saul was staying in the outskirts of Gib'e-ah under the pomegranate tree which is at Migron; the people who were with him were about six hundred men,
14:3 在那裡有亞希突的兒子亞希亞，穿著以弗得。（亞希突是以迦博的哥哥，非尼哈的兒子，以利的孫子。以利從前在示羅作耶和華的祭司。）約拿單去了，百姓卻不知道。
and Ahi'jah the son of Ahi'tub, Ich'abod's brother, son of Phin'ehas, son of Eli, the priest of the LORD in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people did not know that Jonathan had gone.
14:4 約拿單要從隘口過到非利士防營那裡去。這隘口兩邊各有一個山峰，：一名播薛，一名西尼；
In the pass, by which Jonathan sought to go over to the Philistine garrison, there was a rocky crag on the one side and a rocky crag on the other side; the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.
14:5 一峰向北，與密抹相對，一峰向南，與迦巴相對。
The one crag rose on the north in front of Michmash, and the other on the south in front of Geba.
14:6 約拿單對拿兵器的少年人說：「我們不如過到未受割禮人的防營那裡去，或者耶和華為我們施展能力；因為耶和華使人得勝，不在乎人多人少。」
And Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the LORD will work for us; for nothing can hinder the LORD from saving by many or by few."
14:7 拿兵器的對他說：「隨你的心意行吧。你可以上去，我必跟隨你，與你同心。」
And his armor-bearer said to him, "Do all that your mind inclines to; behold, I am with you, as is your mind so is mine."
14:8 約拿單說：「我們要過到那些人那裡去，使他們看見我們。
Then said Jonathan, "Behold, we will cross over to the men, and we will show ourselves to them.
14:9 他們若對我們說：『你們站住，等我們到你們那裡去』，我們就站住，不上他們那裡去。
If they say to us, `Wait until we come to you,' then we will stand still in our place, and we will not go up to them.
14:10 他們若說：『你們上到我們這裡來』，這話就是我們的證據；我們便上去，因為耶和華將他們交在我們手裡了。」
But if they say, `Come up to us,' then we will go up; for the LORD has given them into our hand. And this shall be the sign to us."
14:11 二人就使非利士的防兵看見。非利士人說：「希伯來人從所藏的洞穴裡出來了！」
So both of them showed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines; and the Philistines said, "Look, Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have hid themselves."
14:12 防兵對約拿單和拿兵器的人說：「你們上到這裡來，我們有一件事指示你們。」約拿單就對拿兵器的人說：「你跟隨我上去，因為耶和華將他們交在以色列人手裡了。」
And the men of the garrison hailed Jonathan and his armor-bearer, and said, "Come up to us, and we will show you a thing." And Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, "Come up after me; for the LORD has given them into the hand of Israel."
14:13 約拿單就爬上去，拿兵器的人跟隨他。約拿單殺倒非利士人，拿兵器的人也隨著殺他們。
Then Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, and his armor-bearer after him. And they fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer killed them after him;
14:14 約拿單和拿兵器的人起頭所殺的約有二十人，都在一畝地的半犁溝之內。
and that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armor-bearer made, was of about twenty men within as it were half a furrow's length in an acre of land.
14:15 於是在營中、在田野、在眾民內都有戰兢，防兵和掠兵也都戰兢，地也震動，戰兢之勢甚大。
And there was a panic in the camp, in the field, and among all the people; the garrison and even the raiders trembled; the earth quaked; and it became a very great panic.
14:16 在便雅憫的基比亞，掃羅的守望兵看見非利士的軍眾潰散，四圍亂竄。
And the watchmen of Saul in Gib'e-ah of Benjamin looked; and behold, the multitude was surging hither and thither.
14:17 掃羅就對跟隨他的民說：「你們查點查點，看從我們這裡出去的是誰？」他們一查點，就知道約拿單和拿兵器的人沒有在這裡。
Then Saul said to the people who were with him, "Number and see who has gone from us." And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armor-bearer were not there.
14:18 那時 神的約櫃在以色列人那裡。掃羅對亞希亞說：「你將 神的約櫃運了來。」
And Saul said to Ahi'jah, "Bring hither the ark of God." For the ark of God went at that time with the people of Israel.
14:19 掃羅正與祭司說話的時候，非利士營中的喧嚷越發大了；掃羅就對祭司說：「停手吧！」
And while Saul was talking to the priest, the tumult in the camp of the Philistines increased more and more; and Saul said to the priest, "Withdraw your hand."
14:20 掃羅和跟隨他的人都聚集，來到戰場，看見非利士人用刀互相擊殺，大大惶亂。
Then Saul and all the people who were with him rallied and went into the battle; and behold, every man's sword was against his fellow, and there was very great confusion.
14:21 從前由四方來跟隨非利士軍的希伯來人現在也轉過來，幫助跟隨掃羅和約拿單的以色列人了。
Now the Hebrews who had been with the Philistines before that time and who had gone up with them into the camp, even they also turned to be with the Israelites who were with Saul and Jonathan.
14:22 那藏在以法蓮山地的以色列人聽說非利士人逃跑，就出來緊緊地追殺他們。
Likewise, when all the men of Israel who had hid themselves in the hill country of E'phraim heard that the Philistines were fleeing, they too followed hard after them in the battle.
14:23 那日，耶和華使以色列人得勝，一直戰到伯•亞文。
So the LORD delivered Israel that day; and the battle passed beyond Beth-a'ven.
14:24 掃羅叫百姓起誓說，凡不等到晚上向敵人報完了仇吃甚麼的，必受咒詛。因此這日百姓沒有吃甚麼，就極其困憊。
And the men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul laid an oath on the people, saying, "Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies." So none of the people tasted food.
14:25 眾民進入樹林，見有蜜在地上。
And all the people came into the forest; and there was honey on the ground.
14:26 他們進了樹林，見有蜜流下來，卻沒有人敢用手取蜜入口，因為他們怕那誓言。
And when the people entered the forest, behold, the honey was dropping, but no man put his hand to his mouth; for the people feared the oath.
14:27 約拿單沒有聽見他父親叫百姓起誓，所以伸手中的杖，用杖頭蘸在蜂房裡，轉手送入口內，眼睛就明亮了。
But Jonathan had not heard his father charge the people with the oath; so he put forth the tip of the staff that was in his hand, and dipped it in the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes became bright.
14:28 百姓中有一人對他說：「你父親曾叫百姓嚴嚴地起誓說，今日吃甚麼的，必受咒詛；因此百姓就疲乏了。」
Then one of the people said, "Your father strictly charged the people with an oath, saying, `Cursed be the man who eats food this day.'" And the people were faint.
14:29 約拿單說：「我父親連累你們了。你看，我嘗了這一點蜜，眼睛就明亮了。
Then Jonathan said, "My father has troubled the land; see how my eyes have become bright, because I tasted a little of this honey.
14:30 今日百姓若任意吃了從仇敵所奪的物，擊殺的非利士人豈不更多嗎？」
How much better if the people had eaten freely today of the spoil of their enemies which they found; for now the slaughter among the Philistines has not been great."
14:31 這日，以色列人擊殺非利士人，從密抹直到亞雅崙。百姓甚是疲乏，
They struck down the Philistines that day from Michmash to Ai'jalon. And the people were very faint;
14:32 就急忙將所奪的牛羊和牛犢宰於地上，肉還帶血就吃了。
the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep and oxen and calves, and slew them on the ground; and the people ate them with the blood.
14:33 有人告訴掃羅說：「百姓吃帶血的肉，得罪耶和華了。」掃羅說：「你們有罪了，今日要將大石頭滾到我這裡來。」
Then they told Saul, "Behold, the people are sinning against the LORD, by eating with the blood." And he said, "You have dealt treacherously; roll a great stone to me here."
14:34 掃羅又說：「你們散在百姓中，對他們說，你們各人將牛羊牽到我這裡來宰了吃，不可吃帶血的肉得罪耶和華。」這夜，百姓就把牛羊牽到那裡宰了。
And Saul said, "Disperse yourselves among the people, and say to them, `Let every man bring his ox or his sheep, and slay them here, and eat; and do not sin against the LORD by eating with the blood.'" So every one of the people brought his ox with him that night, and slew them there.
14:35 掃羅為耶和華築了一座壇，這是他初次為耶和華築的壇。
And Saul built an altar to the LORD; it was the first altar that he built to the LORD.
14:36 掃羅說：「我們不如夜裡下去追趕非利士人，搶掠他們，直到天亮，不留他們一人。」眾民說：「你看怎樣好就去行吧！」祭司說：「我們先當親近 神。」
Then Saul said, "Let us go down after the Philistines by night and despoil them until the morning light; let us not leave a man of them." And they said, "Do whatever seems good to you." But the priest said, "Let us draw near hither to God."
14:37 掃羅求問 神說：「我下去追趕非利士人可以不可以？你將他們交在以色列人手裡不交？」這日 神沒有回答他。
And Saul inquired of God, "Shall I go down after the Philistines? Wilt thou give them into the hand of Israel?" But he did not answer him that day.
14:38 掃羅說：「你們百姓中的長老都上這裡來，查明今日是誰犯了罪。
And Saul said, "Come hither, all you leaders of the people; and know and see how this sin has arisen today.
14:39 我指著救以色列─永生的耶和華起誓，就是我兒子約拿單犯了罪，他也必死。」但百姓中無一人回答他。
For as the LORD lives who saves Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die." But there was not a man among all the people that answered him.
14:40 掃羅就對以色列眾人說：「你們站在一邊，我與我兒子約拿單也站在一邊。」百姓對掃羅說：「你看怎樣好就去行吧！」
Then he said to all Israel, "You shall be on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side." And the people said to Saul, "Do what seems good to you."
14:41 掃羅禱告耶和華─以色列的 神說：「求你指示實情。」於是掣籤掣出掃羅和約拿單來；百姓盡都無事。
Therefore Saul said, "O LORD God of Israel, why hast thou not answered thy servant this day? If this guilt is in me or in Jonathan my son, O LORD, God of Israel, give Urim; but if this guilt is in thy people Israel, give Thummim." And Jonathan and Saul were taken, but the people escaped.
14:42 掃羅說：「你們再掣籤，看是我，是我兒子約拿單」，就掣出約拿單來。
Then Saul said, "Cast the lot between me and my son Jonathan." And Jonathan was taken.
14:43 掃羅對約拿單說：「你告訴我，你做了甚麼事？」約拿單說：「我實在以手裡的杖，用杖頭蘸了一點蜜嘗了一嘗。這樣我就死嗎（或譯：吧））？」
Then Saul said to Jonathan, "Tell me what you have done." And Jonathan told him, "I tasted a little honey with the tip of the staff that was in my hand; here I am, I will die."
14:44 掃羅說：「約拿單哪，你定要死！若不然，願 神重重地降罰與我。」
And Saul said, "God do so to me and more also; you shall surely die, Jonathan."
14:45 百姓對掃羅說：「約拿單在以色列人中這樣大行拯救，豈可使他死呢？斷乎不可！我們指著永生的耶和華起誓，連他的一根頭髮也不可落地，因為他今日與 神一同做事。」於是百姓救約拿單免了死亡。
Then the people said to Saul, "Shall Jonathan die, who has wrought this great victory in Israel? Far from it! As the LORD lives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he has wrought with God this day." So the people ransomed Jonathan, that he did not die.
14:46 掃羅回去，不追趕非利士人；非利士人也回本地去了。
Then Saul went up from pursuing the Philistines; and the Philistines went to their own place.
14:47 掃羅執掌以色列的國權，常常攻擊他四圍的一切仇敵，就是摩押人、亞捫人、以東人，和瑣巴諸王，並非利士人。他無論往何處去，都打敗仇敵。
When Saul had taken the kingship over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, against the Ammonites, against Edom, against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines; wherever he turned he put them to the worse.
14:48 掃羅奮勇攻擊亞瑪力人，救了以色列人脫離搶掠他們之人的手。
And he did valiantly, and smote the Amal'ekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of those who plundered them.
14:49 掃羅的兒子是約拿單、亦施韋、麥基舒亞。他的兩個女兒：長女名米拉，次女名米甲。
Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, Ishvi, and Mal'chishu'a; and the names of his two daughters were these: the name of the first-born was Merab, and the name of the younger Michal;
14:50 掃羅的妻名叫亞希暖，是亞希瑪斯的女兒。掃羅的元帥名叫押尼珥，是尼珥的兒子；尼珥是掃羅的叔叔。
and the name of Saul's wife was Ahin'o-am the daughter of Ahim'a-az. And the name of the commander of his army was Abner the son of Ner, Saul's uncle;
14:51 掃羅的父親基士，押尼珥的父親尼珥，都是亞別的兒子。
Kish was the father of Saul, and Ner the father of Abner was the son of Abi'el.
14:52 掃羅平生常與非利士人大大爭戰。掃羅遇見有能力的人或勇士，都招募了來跟隨他。
There was hard fighting against the Philistines all the days of Saul; and when Saul saw any strong man, or any valiant man, he attached him to himself.
One day Jonathan the son of Saul said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, let us go over to the Philistine garrison on yonder side." But he did not tell his father.

And Saul said, "Disperse yourselves among the people, and say to them, `Let every man bring his ox or his sheep, and slay them here, and eat; and do not sin against the LORD by eating with the blood.'" So every one of the people brought his ox with him that night, and slew them there.
14:35 掃羅為耶和華築了一座壇，這是他初次為耶和華築的壇。
And Saul built an altar to the LORD; it was the first altar that he built to the LORD.
14:36 掃羅說：「我們不如夜裡下去追趕非利士人，搶掠他們，直到天亮，不留他們一人。」眾民說：「你看怎樣好就去行吧！」祭司說：「我們先當親近 神。」
Then Saul said, "Let us go down after the Philistines by night and despoil them until the morning light; let us not leave a man of them." And they said, "Do whatever seems good to you." But the priest said, "Let us draw near hither to God."
14:37 掃羅求問 神說：「我下去追趕非利士人可以不可以？你將他們交在以色列人手裡不交？」這日 神沒有回答他。
And Saul inquired of God, "Shall I go down after the Philistines? Wilt thou give them into the hand of Israel?" But he did not answer him that day.
14:38 掃羅說：「你們百姓中的長老都上這裡來，查明今日是誰犯了罪。
And Saul said, "Come hither, all you leaders of the people; and know and see how this sin has arisen today.
14:39 我指著救以色列─永生的耶和華起誓，就是我兒子約拿單犯了罪，他也必死。」但百姓中無一人回答他。
For as the LORD lives who saves Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die." But there was not a man among all the people that answered him.
14:40 掃羅就對以色列眾人說：「你們站在一邊，我與我兒子約拿單也站在一邊。」百姓對掃羅說：「你看怎樣好就去行吧！」
Then he said to all Israel, "You shall be on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side." And the people said to Saul, "Do what seems good to you."
14:41 掃羅禱告耶和華─以色列的 神說：「求你指示實情。」於是掣籤掣出掃羅和約拿單來；百姓盡都無事。
Therefore Saul said, "O LORD God of Israel, why hast thou not answered thy servant this day? If this guilt is in me or in Jonathan my son, O LORD, God of Israel, give Urim; but if this guilt is in thy people Israel, give Thummim." And Jonathan and Saul were taken, but the people escaped.
14:42 掃羅說：「你們再掣籤，看是我，是我兒子約拿單」，就掣出約拿單來。
Then Saul said, "Cast the lot between me and my son Jonathan." And Jonathan was taken.
14:43 掃羅對約拿單說：「你告訴我，你做了甚麼事？」約拿單說：「我實在以手裡的杖，用杖頭蘸了一點蜜嘗了一嘗。這樣我就死嗎（或譯：吧））？」
Then Saul said to Jonathan, "Tell me what you have done." And Jonathan told him, "I tasted a little honey with the tip of the staff that was in my hand; here I am, I will die."
14:44 掃羅說：「約拿單哪，你定要死！若不然，願 神重重地降罰與我。」
And Saul said, "God do so to me and more also; you shall surely die, Jonathan."
14:45 百姓對掃羅說：「約拿單在以色列人中這樣大行拯救，豈可使他死呢？斷乎不可！我們指著永生的耶和華起誓，連他的一根頭髮也不可落地，因為他今日與 神一同做事。」於是百姓救約拿單免了死亡。
Then the people said to Saul, "Shall Jonathan die, who has wrought this great victory in Israel? Far from it! As the LORD lives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he has wrought with God this day." So the people ransomed Jonathan, that he did not die.
14:46 掃羅回去，不追趕非利士人；非利士人也回本地去了。
Then Saul went up from pursuing the Philistines; and the Philistines went to their own place.
14:47 掃羅執掌以色列的國權，常常攻擊他四圍的一切仇敵，就是摩押人、亞捫人、以東人，和瑣巴諸王，並非利士人。他無論往何處去，都打敗仇敵。
When Saul had taken the kingship over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, against the Ammonites, against Edom, against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines; wherever he turned he put them to the worse.
14:48 掃羅奮勇攻擊亞瑪力人，救了以色列人脫離搶掠他們之人的手。
And he did valiantly, and smote the Amal'ekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of those who plundered them.
14:49 掃羅的兒子是約拿單、亦施韋、麥基舒亞。他的兩個女兒：長女名米拉，次女名米甲。
Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, Ishvi, and Mal'chishu'a; and the names of his two daughters were these: the name of the first-born was Merab, and the name of the younger Michal;
14:50 掃羅的妻名叫亞希暖，是亞希瑪斯的女兒。掃羅的元帥名叫押尼珥，是尼珥的兒子；尼珥是掃羅的叔叔。
and the name of Saul's wife was Ahin'o-am the daughter of Ahim'a-az. And the name of the commander of his army was Abner the son of Ner, Saul's uncle;
14:51 掃羅的父親基士，押尼珥的父親尼珥，都是亞別的兒子。
Kish was the father of Saul, and Ner the father of Abner was the son of Abi'el.
14:52 掃羅平生常與非利士人大大爭戰。掃羅遇見有能力的人或勇士，都招募了來跟隨他。
There was hard fighting against the Philistines all the days of Saul; and when Saul saw any strong man, or any valiant man, he attached him to himself.

「我的弟兄們，最要緊的是不可起誓；不可指著天起誓，也不可指著地起誓，無論何誓都不可起。你們說話，是，就說是；不是，就說不是，免得你們落在審判之下」。（雅各書 5:12）
回覆刪除在這段經文(撒上14:1-15)，所記載的是密抹戰役之後所發生的事，它襯托出掃羅是一個反反復復，說話不經過大腦，隨意發誓咒詛，几乎連兒子約拿單也成了犧牲品。例如：
1. 餓肚子打仗，怎麼不疲憊 --- 掃羅叫百姓起誓說：‘凡不等到晚上向敵人報完了仇吃什么的，必受咒詛。’因此這日百姓沒有吃什么，就極其困憊。（撒上 14:24）
2. 追殺敵人后 --- “百姓甚是疲乏，就急忙將所奪的牛羊和牛犢宰于地上，肉還帶血就吃了。”（撒上 14:31-32），但肚子咕嚕嚕，也就不管什麽律法禁戒，肉還帶血就吃，得罪了耶和華。
3. 掃羅的起誓是很魯莽，沒有必要的 --- 我指著救以色列永生的耶和華起誓，就是我兒子約拿單犯了罪，他也必死。(撒上 14:39 )-- 就像士師耶弗他（士11：30）。
4. 皇帝下詔，一改再改。反反復復，自打嘴巴！--- 約拿單哪，你定要死！若不然，願上帝重重地降罰與我。’百姓對掃羅說：‘約拿單在以色列人中這樣大行拯救，豈可使他死呢？斷乎不可！我們指著永生的耶和華起誓，連他的一根頭發也不可落地，因為他今日與上帝一同做事。於是，百姓救約拿單免了死亡。”(撒上 14:44-45)
在密抹之役我們已經看到兩個極端的例子，約拿單是上帝真正的勇士，憑信心而行，毫無畏懼，以寡敵眾，對照出他父親掃羅的優柔寡斷，倚靠人力馬力，不敢出兵，言行飄忽不定。 這樣優柔寡斷，血氣方剛，又隨意發誓咒詛的掃羅，確實不適合做以色列開國君王的。求主幫助我們，要小心，謹守主的話，不可隨意發誓或咒詛他人，我們說話，是，就說是；不是，就說不是（雅各書 5:12），警言慎行，絕不可自大，免得拌倒他人，落人口實，不能榮耀主聖名。詩篇 15篇是一首我很喜愛的大衛的詩，他告訴我們什麼樣的人才配得進到聖殿敬拜和服事神。簡單的5小節，清楚地告訴我們在職場，在教會，在家裡做人處世，做事的準則。它也是我們服事主，事奉和敬拜的聖經的原則。這個聖經的原則，是不可扭曲，不可照人的意思，隨意更改的。
（大衛的詩。）耶和華啊，誰能寄居你的帳幕？誰能住在你的聖山？就是行為正直、做事公義、心裡說實話的人。他不以舌頭讒謗人，不惡待朋友，也不隨夥毀謗鄰里。他眼中藐視匪類，卻尊重那敬畏耶和華的人。他發了誓，雖然自己吃虧也不更改。他不放債取利，不受賄賂以害無辜。行這些事的人必永不動搖。（詩篇 15:1-5）
