經文: 撒母耳記上 15:30 掃羅說：「我有罪了，雖然如此，求你在我百姓的長老和以色列人面前抬舉我，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和華你的神。
默想: 掃羅在經過前幾次的不遵行耶和華的命令而受到撒母耳的責備之後，這一次耶和華讓他大勝亞瑪力人，掃羅卻更嚴重的背逆耶和華的命令，擅自將亞瑪力王亞甲的命留下，更擅自將上好的牛羊都留下，只殺掉那些瘦弱的牲畜。當耶和華派遣撒母耳前去指責掃羅時，我們看到的是掃羅一直在設法否認他的罪行與推卸他的責人。當撒母耳一再拆穿掃羅的謊言時，掃羅還是不肯誠實的在耶和華面前認罪悔改。最後掃羅被撒母耳逼到無法再狡辯時，掃羅只是輕描淡寫的向撒母耳說，我有罪了，然後接著掃羅關心的，不是要如何得到耶和華的赦免，而是要如何保住他在百姓面前的面子。撒母耳的衣襟被掃羅扯斷了，撒母耳也給足了掃羅的面子，跟掃羅一同回去敬拜耶和華。但是，掃羅卻沒有得到耶和華的赦免。主啊！當我犯錯時，求主幫助我，願意盡快真誠向神認罪悔改，好得到上帝的赦免。

15:2 萬軍之耶和華如此說：『以色列人出埃及的時候，在路上亞瑪力人怎樣待他們，怎樣抵擋他們，我都沒忘。
Thus says the LORD of hosts, `I will punish what Am'alek did to Israel in opposing them on the way, when they came up out of Egypt.
15:3 現在你要去擊打亞瑪力人，滅盡他們所有的，不可憐惜他們，將男女、孩童、吃奶的，並牛、羊、駱駝，和驢盡行殺死。』」
Now go and smite Am'alek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.'"
15:4 於是掃羅招聚百姓在提拉因，數點他們，共有步兵二十萬，另有猶大人一萬。
So Saul summoned the people, and numbered them in Tela'im, two hundred thousand men on foot, and ten thousand men of Judah.
15:5 掃羅到了亞瑪力的京城，在谷中設下埋伏。
And Saul came to the city of Am'alek, and lay in wait in the valley.
15:6 掃羅對基尼人說：「你們離開亞瑪力人下去吧，恐怕我將你們和亞瑪力人一同殺滅；因為以色列人出埃及的時候，你們曾恩待他們。」於是基尼人離開亞瑪力人去了。
And Saul said to the Ken'ites, "Go, depart, go down from among the Amal'ekites, lest I destroy you with them; for you showed kindness to all the people of Israel when they came up out of Egypt." So the Ken'ites departed from among the Amal'ekites.
15:7 掃羅擊打亞瑪力人，從哈腓拉直到埃及前的書珥，
And Saul defeated the Amal'ekites, from Hav'ilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt.
15:8 生擒了亞瑪力王亞甲，用刀殺盡亞瑪力的眾民。
And he took Agag the king of the Amal'ekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
15:9 掃羅和百姓卻憐惜亞甲，也愛惜上好的牛、羊、牛犢、羊羔，並一切美物，不肯滅絕。凡下賤瘦弱的，盡都殺了。
But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them; all that was despised and worthless they utterly destroyed.
15:10 耶和華的話臨到撒母耳說：
The word of the LORD came to Samuel:
15:11 「我立掃羅為王，我後悔了；因為他轉去不跟從我，不遵守我的命令。」撒母耳便甚憂愁，終夜哀求耶和華。
"I repent that I have made Saul king; for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments." And Samuel was angry; and he cried to the LORD all night.
15:12 撒母耳清早起來，迎接掃羅。有人告訴撒母耳說：「掃羅到了迦密，在那裡立了記念碑，又轉身下到吉甲。」
And Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning; and it was told Samuel, "Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set up a monument for himself and turned, and passed on, and went down to Gilgal."
15:13 撒母耳到了掃羅那裡，掃羅對他說：「願耶和華賜福與你，耶和華的命令我已遵守了。」
And Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, "Blessed be you to the LORD; I have performed the commandment of the LORD."
15:14 撒母耳說：「我耳中聽見有羊叫、牛鳴，是從哪裡來的呢？」
And Samuel said, "What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?"
15:15 掃羅說：「這是百姓從亞瑪力人那裡帶來的；因為他們愛惜上好的牛羊，要獻與耶和華─你的 神；其餘的，我們都滅盡了。」
Saul said, "They have brought them from the Amal'ekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed."
15:16 撒母耳對掃羅說：「你住口吧！等我將耶和華昨夜向我所說的話告訴你。」掃羅說：「請講。」
Then Samuel said to Saul, "Stop! I will tell you what the LORD said to me this night." And he said to him, "Say on."
15:17 撒母耳對掃羅說：「從前你雖然以自己為小，豈不是被立為以色列支派的元首嗎？耶和華膏你作以色列的王。
And Samuel said, "Though you are little in your own eyes, are you not the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel.
15:18 耶和華差遣你，吩咐你說，你去擊打那些犯罪的亞瑪力人，將他們滅絕淨盡。
And the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, `Go, utterly destroy the sinners, the Amal'ekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.'
15:19 你為何沒有聽從耶和華的命令，急忙擄掠財物，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事呢？」
Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD? Why did you swoop on the spoil, and do what was evil in the sight of the LORD?"
15:20 掃羅對撒母耳說：「我實在聽從了耶和華的命令，行了耶和華所差遣我行的路，擒了亞瑪力王亞甲來，滅盡了亞瑪力人。
And Saul said to Samuel, "I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, I have gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, I have brought Agag the king of Am'alek, and I have utterly destroyed the Amal'ekites.
15:21 百姓卻在所當滅的物中取了最好的牛羊，要在吉甲獻與耶和華─你的 神。」
But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the best of the things devoted to destruction, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal."
15:22 撒母耳說：耶和華喜悅燔祭和平安祭，豈如喜悅人聽從他的話呢？聽命勝於獻祭；順從勝於公羊的脂油。
And Samuel said, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
15:23 悖逆的罪與行邪術的罪相等；頑梗的罪與拜虛神和偶像的罪相同。你既厭棄耶和華的命令，耶和華也厭棄你作王。
For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king."
15:24 掃羅對撒母耳說：「我有罪了，我因懼怕百姓，聽從他們的話，就違背了耶和華的命令和你的言語。
And Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.
15:25 現在求你赦免我的罪，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和華。」
Now therefore, I pray, pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD."
15:26 撒母耳對掃羅說：「我不同你回去；因為你厭棄耶和華的命令，耶和華也厭棄你作以色列的王。」
And Samuel said to Saul, "I will not return with you; for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel."
15:27 撒母耳轉身要走，掃羅就扯住他外袍的衣襟，衣襟就撕斷了。
As Samuel turned to go away, Saul laid hold upon the skirt of his robe, and it tore.
15:28 撒母耳對他說：「如此，今日耶和華使以色列國與你斷絕，將這國賜與比你更好的人。
And Samuel said to him, "The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.
15:29 以色列的大能者必不致說謊，也不致後悔；因為他迥非世人，決不後悔。」
And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or repent; for he is not a man, that he should repent."
15:30 掃羅說：「我有罪了，雖然如此，求你在我百姓的長老和以色列人面前抬舉我，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和華─你的 神。」
Then he said, "I have sinned; yet honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD your God."
15:31 於是撒母耳轉身跟隨掃羅回去，掃羅就敬拜耶和華。
So Samuel turned back after Saul; and Saul worshiped the LORD.
15:32 撒母耳說：「要把亞瑪力王亞甲帶到我這裡來。」亞甲就歡歡喜喜地來到他面前，心裡說，死亡的苦難必定過去了。
Then Samuel said, "Bring here to me Agag the king of the Amal'ekites." And Agag came to him cheerfully. Agag said, "Surely the bitterness of death is past."
15:33 撒母耳說：「你既用刀使婦人喪子，這樣，你母親在婦人中也必喪子。」於是，撒母耳在吉甲耶和華面前將亞甲殺死。
And Samuel said, "As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women." And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.
15:34 撒母耳回了拉瑪。掃羅上他所住的基比亞，回自己的家去了。
Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house in Gib'e-ah of Saul.
15:35 撒母耳直到死的日子，再沒有見掃羅；但撒母耳為掃羅悲傷，是因耶和華後悔立他為以色列的王。
And Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death, but Samuel grieved over Saul. And the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
And Samuel said to Saul, "The LORD sent me to anoint you king over his people Israel; now therefore hearken to the words of the LORD.

"I repent that I have made Saul king; for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments." And Samuel was angry; and he cried to the LORD all night.
15:12 撒母耳清早起來，迎接掃羅。有人告訴撒母耳說：「掃羅到了迦密，在那裡立了記念碑，又轉身下到吉甲。」
And Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning; and it was told Samuel, "Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set up a monument for himself and turned, and passed on, and went down to Gilgal."
15:13 撒母耳到了掃羅那裡，掃羅對他說：「願耶和華賜福與你，耶和華的命令我已遵守了。」
And Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, "Blessed be you to the LORD; I have performed the commandment of the LORD."
15:14 撒母耳說：「我耳中聽見有羊叫、牛鳴，是從哪裡來的呢？」
And Samuel said, "What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?"
15:15 掃羅說：「這是百姓從亞瑪力人那裡帶來的；因為他們愛惜上好的牛羊，要獻與耶和華─你的 神；其餘的，我們都滅盡了。」
Saul said, "They have brought them from the Amal'ekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed."
15:16 撒母耳對掃羅說：「你住口吧！等我將耶和華昨夜向我所說的話告訴你。」掃羅說：「請講。」
Then Samuel said to Saul, "Stop! I will tell you what the LORD said to me this night." And he said to him, "Say on."
15:17 撒母耳對掃羅說：「從前你雖然以自己為小，豈不是被立為以色列支派的元首嗎？耶和華膏你作以色列的王。
And Samuel said, "Though you are little in your own eyes, are you not the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel.
15:18 耶和華差遣你，吩咐你說，你去擊打那些犯罪的亞瑪力人，將他們滅絕淨盡。
And the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, `Go, utterly destroy the sinners, the Amal'ekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.'
15:19 你為何沒有聽從耶和華的命令，急忙擄掠財物，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事呢？」
Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD? Why did you swoop on the spoil, and do what was evil in the sight of the LORD?"
15:20 掃羅對撒母耳說：「我實在聽從了耶和華的命令，行了耶和華所差遣我行的路，擒了亞瑪力王亞甲來，滅盡了亞瑪力人。
And Saul said to Samuel, "I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, I have gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, I have brought Agag the king of Am'alek, and I have utterly destroyed the Amal'ekites.
15:21 百姓卻在所當滅的物中取了最好的牛羊，要在吉甲獻與耶和華─你的 神。」
But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the best of the things devoted to destruction, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal."
15:22 撒母耳說：耶和華喜悅燔祭和平安祭，豈如喜悅人聽從他的話呢？聽命勝於獻祭；順從勝於公羊的脂油。
And Samuel said, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
15:23 悖逆的罪與行邪術的罪相等；頑梗的罪與拜虛神和偶像的罪相同。你既厭棄耶和華的命令，耶和華也厭棄你作王。
For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king."
15:24 掃羅對撒母耳說：「我有罪了，我因懼怕百姓，聽從他們的話，就違背了耶和華的命令和你的言語。
And Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.
15:25 現在求你赦免我的罪，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和華。」
Now therefore, I pray, pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD."
15:26 撒母耳對掃羅說：「我不同你回去；因為你厭棄耶和華的命令，耶和華也厭棄你作以色列的王。」
And Samuel said to Saul, "I will not return with you; for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel."
15:27 撒母耳轉身要走，掃羅就扯住他外袍的衣襟，衣襟就撕斷了。
As Samuel turned to go away, Saul laid hold upon the skirt of his robe, and it tore.
15:28 撒母耳對他說：「如此，今日耶和華使以色列國與你斷絕，將這國賜與比你更好的人。
And Samuel said to him, "The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.
15:29 以色列的大能者必不致說謊，也不致後悔；因為他迥非世人，決不後悔。」
And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or repent; for he is not a man, that he should repent."
15:30 掃羅說：「我有罪了，雖然如此，求你在我百姓的長老和以色列人面前抬舉我，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和華─你的 神。」
Then he said, "I have sinned; yet honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD your God."
15:31 於是撒母耳轉身跟隨掃羅回去，掃羅就敬拜耶和華。
So Samuel turned back after Saul; and Saul worshiped the LORD.
15:32 撒母耳說：「要把亞瑪力王亞甲帶到我這裡來。」亞甲就歡歡喜喜地來到他面前，心裡說，死亡的苦難必定過去了。
Then Samuel said, "Bring here to me Agag the king of the Amal'ekites." And Agag came to him cheerfully. Agag said, "Surely the bitterness of death is past."
15:33 撒母耳說：「你既用刀使婦人喪子，這樣，你母親在婦人中也必喪子。」於是，撒母耳在吉甲耶和華面前將亞甲殺死。
And Samuel said, "As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women." And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.
15:34 撒母耳回了拉瑪。掃羅上他所住的基比亞，回自己的家去了。
Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house in Gib'e-ah of Saul.
15:35 撒母耳直到死的日子，再沒有見掃羅；但撒母耳為掃羅悲傷，是因耶和華後悔立他為以色列的王。
And Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death, but Samuel grieved over Saul. And the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
And Samuel said to Saul, "The LORD sent me to anoint you king over his people Israel; now therefore hearken to the words of the LORD.
15:2 萬軍之耶和華如此說：『以色列人出埃及的時候，在路上亞瑪力人怎樣待他們，怎樣抵擋他們，我都沒忘。
Thus says the LORD of hosts, `I will punish what Am'alek did to Israel in opposing them on the way, when they came up out of Egypt.
15:3 現在你要去擊打亞瑪力人，滅盡他們所有的，不可憐惜他們，將男女、孩童、吃奶的，並牛、羊、駱駝，和驢盡行殺死。』」
Now go and smite Am'alek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.'"
15:4 於是掃羅招聚百姓在提拉因，數點他們，共有步兵二十萬，另有猶大人一萬。
So Saul summoned the people, and numbered them in Tela'im, two hundred thousand men on foot, and ten thousand men of Judah.
15:5 掃羅到了亞瑪力的京城，在谷中設下埋伏。
And Saul came to the city of Am'alek, and lay in wait in the valley.
15:6 掃羅對基尼人說：「你們離開亞瑪力人下去吧，恐怕我將你們和亞瑪力人一同殺滅；因為以色列人出埃及的時候，你們曾恩待他們。」於是基尼人離開亞瑪力人去了。
And Saul said to the Ken'ites, "Go, depart, go down from among the Amal'ekites, lest I destroy you with them; for you showed kindness to all the people of Israel when they came up out of Egypt." So the Ken'ites departed from among the Amal'ekites.
15:7 掃羅擊打亞瑪力人，從哈腓拉直到埃及前的書珥，
And Saul defeated the Amal'ekites, from Hav'ilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt.
15:8 生擒了亞瑪力王亞甲，用刀殺盡亞瑪力的眾民。
And he took Agag the king of the Amal'ekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
15:9 掃羅和百姓卻憐惜亞甲，也愛惜上好的牛、羊、牛犢、羊羔，並一切美物，不肯滅絕。凡下賤瘦弱的，盡都殺了。
But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them; all that was despised and worthless they utterly destroyed.
15:10 耶和華的話臨到撒母耳說：
The word of the LORD came to Samuel:
15:11 「我立掃羅為王，我後悔了；因為他轉去不跟從我，不遵守我的命令。」撒母耳便甚憂愁，終夜哀求耶和華。
"I repent that I have made Saul king; for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments." And Samuel was angry; and he cried to the LORD all night.

「撒母耳說：耶和華喜悅燔祭和平安祭，豈如喜悅人聽從他的話呢？聽命勝於獻祭；順從勝於公羊的脂油。悖逆的罪與行邪術的罪相等；頑梗的罪與拜虛神和偶像的罪相同。你既厭棄耶和華的命令，耶和華也厭棄你作王」。(撒母耳記上 15:22-23)
回覆刪除「只要切切的謹慎遵行耶和華僕人摩西所吩咐你們的誡命律法，愛耶和華你們的神，行他一切的道，守他的誡命，專靠他，盡心盡性事奉他」。(約書亞記 22:5)
「並且盡心、盡智、盡力愛他，又愛人如己，就比一切燔祭和各樣祭祀好的多」。(馬可福音 12:33)
「我喜愛良善（或作：憐恤），不喜愛祭祀；喜愛認識神，勝於燔祭」。(何西阿書 6:6)
當我們讀到舊約的經文，像撒母耳記上 15:2-3這兩節經文，我們會覺得這以色列的神是很沒有人性的，趕盡殺絕。有些朋友說；他們可以接受新約，但無法接受舊約這種殺！殺！殺！的神學思想。為此，我必須向他們解釋以色列的神和以色列民的關係，乃是「聖約」（convenant בְּרִית ）的關係。上帝對以色列民的要求，乃是根據「聖約」（convenant）的關係，就好像宗主國和護庸國的關係；宣誓在此誓約之下，雙方發誓必須盡到作護庸國的義務/本份，護庸國必須聽/謹守遵行宗主國的話，宗主國(神)才會保護護庸國（以色列民），賜福與以色列民，帶領以色列民進入應許之地。
因此，上帝對以色列民，對掃羅是有要求的。就是「只要切切的謹慎遵行耶和華僕人摩西所吩咐你們的誡命律法，愛耶和華你們的神，行他一切的道，守他的誡命，專靠他，盡心盡性事奉他」。(約書亞記 22:5)。掃羅不聽上帝所交待撒母耳的話，不謹守祭司獻祭的條例，自以為是，只求要面子，要用人的方法來取悅神，作表面的工作，他所獻的燔祭和平安祭，上帝是不會悅納的。同樣地，今天，我們籍著受洗，歸入主動名下，在新約的見證之下，成為新造的人，是真以色列人，是上帝的兒女。
求主幫助我們，我們更要小心，要聽從/謹守遵行上帝的話，盡心、盡智、盡力愛祂，又愛人如己，追求良善，多認識神。。。上帝喜悅我們這樣作，勝於那些有錢，而不聽上帝的話，要尊主為大。求主光照，不要以奉獻金錢來誇耀自己的才能，不要想在教會作CEO，發號司令，這些都不是上帝所喜悅的（可12：33 &何西阿書 6:6)。
