15:11 神用溫和的話安慰你，你以為太小嗎？
15:12 你的心為何將你逼去？你的眼為何冒出火星，
15:13 使你的靈反對 神，也任你的口發這言語？
15:14 人是甚麼，竟算為潔淨呢？婦人所生的是甚麼，竟算為義呢？
15:15 神不信靠他的眾聖者；在他眼前，天也不潔淨，
15:16 何況那污穢可憎、喝罪孽如水的世人呢！

經文:
默想: 以利法認為約伯應該滿足於上帝的「溫和的話安慰」(11a)，這可能是指以利法第一次發言時還算客氣的態度。但是，沒想到約伯對於以利法的好言相勸，卻不領情，他的回等的語氣並不是那麼的好。這使得以利法第二次說話的用語顯得相當苛刻，他的態度有了明顯的轉變，他責備約伯，為什麼眼冒出火星？為什麼反對神，任意的發言？甚至於以利法認為約伯你是什麼東西，你能算是潔淨的嗎？你不是，因為婦人所生的，沒有一個人可以稱之為義人。所以，一個不義的人，遇到這樣的遭遇有什麼好多言抱怨呢？何況「那污穢可憎、喝罪孽如水的世人呢？」以利法講這些話，明白的就是指在約伯，是一個污穢可憎，喝罪如水的人。所以，遇見這樣不幸的遭遇，也沒有什麼好抱怨了。
我們要說，當以利法在責備約伯時，他的態度太過武斷強烈了，他也許在人生上有一些經驗，也許有自己的看見，但是，他在指責約伯時，顯示出自己高高在上看約伯的態度。他努力地眨低約伯，把它講得很不值，彷彿如此約伯就會認清自是個不堪的人。事實上，這樣的話語不能安慰能，通常只會引來更強的對立。
題目: 提幔人以利法認為 “世人污穢可憎、喝罪孽如水” 你對此有何看法呢？
15:1 提幔人以利法回答說：
Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
15:2 智慧人豈可用虛空的知識回答，用東風充滿肚腹呢？
Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind? vain...: Heb. knowledge of wind
15:3 他豈可用無益的話和無濟於事的言語理論呢？
Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
15:4 你是廢棄敬畏的意，在 神面前阻止敬虔的心。
Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God. castest...: Heb. makest void prayer: or, speech
15:5 你的罪孽指教你的口；你選用詭詐人的舌頭。
For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty. uttereth: Heb. teacheth
15:6 你自己的口定你有罪，並非是我；你自己的嘴見證你的不是。
Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
15:7 你豈是頭一個被生的人嗎？你受造在諸山之先嗎？
Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills?
15:8 你曾聽見 神的密旨嗎？你還將智慧獨自得盡嗎？
Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
15:9 你知道甚麼是我們不知道的呢？你明白甚麼是我們不明白的呢？
What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?
15:10 我們這裡有白髮的和年紀老邁的，比你父親還老。
With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.
15:11 神用溫和的話安慰你，你以為太小嗎？
Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
15:12 你的心為何將你逼去？你的眼為何冒出火星，
Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,
15:13 使你的靈反對 神，也任你的口發這言語？
That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth?
15:14 人是甚麼，竟算為潔淨呢？婦人所生的是甚麼，竟算為義呢？
What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
15:15 神不信靠他的眾聖者；在他眼前，天也不潔淨，
Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
15:16 何況那污穢可憎、喝罪孽如水的世人呢！
How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
15:17 我指示你，你要聽；我要述說所看見的，
I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare;
15:18 就是智慧人從列祖所受，傳說而不隱瞞的。
Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it :
15:19 （這地惟獨賜給他們，並沒有外人從他們中間經過。）
Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.
15:20 惡人一生之日劬勞痛苦；強暴人一生的年數也是如此。
The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.
15:21 驚嚇的聲音常在他耳中；在平安時，搶奪的必臨到他那裡。
A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him. A dreadful...: Heb. A sound of fears
15:22 他不信自己能從黑暗中轉回；他被刀劍等候。
He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
15:23 他漂流在外求食，說：哪裡有食物呢？他知道黑暗的日子在他手邊預備好了。
He wandereth abroad for bread, saying , Where is it ? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
15:24 急難困苦叫他害怕，而且勝了他，好像君王預備上陣一樣。
Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
15:25 他伸手攻擊 神，以驕傲攻擊全能者，
For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
15:26 挺著頸項，用盾牌的厚凸面向全能者直闖；
He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
15:27 是因他的臉蒙上脂油，腰積成肥肉。
Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.
15:28 他曾住在荒涼城邑，無人居住、將成亂堆的房屋。
And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.
15:29 他不得富足，財物不得常存，產業在地上也不加增。
He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.
15:30 他不得出離黑暗。火焰要將他的枝子燒乾；因 神口中的氣，他要滅亡（原文是走去）。
He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
15:31 他不用倚靠虛假欺哄自己，因虛假必成為他的報應。
Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
15:32 他的日期未到之先，這事必成就；他的枝子不得青綠。
It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be green. accomplished: or, cut off
15:33 他必像葡萄樹的葡萄，未熟而落；又像橄欖樹的花，一開而謝。
He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.
15:34 原來不敬虔之輩必無生育；受賄賂之人的帳棚必被火燒。
For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
15:35 他們所懷的是毒害，所生的是罪孽；心裡所預備的是詭詐。
They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit. vanity: or, iniquity
