經文: 撒母耳記上 3:18 撒母耳就把一切話都告訴了以利，並沒有隱瞞。以利說：這是出於耶和華，願他憑自己的意旨而行。
默想: 以利已經很久沒有聽見耶和華向他啟示了。當那些日子，耶和華的言語稀少，不常有默示。以利也知道問題出在於他尊重他那兩個匪類兒子，過於尊重耶和華。耶和華之前也曾經派遣神人來向以利提出嚴重的警告，說：耶和華以色列的神說：我曾說，你和你父家必永遠行在我面前；現在我卻說，決不容你們這樣行。因為尊重我的，我必重看他；藐視我的，他必被輕視。(撒上2:30) 以利卻沒有改變他的為人風格。現在，耶和華選擇經由幼童撒母耳來再度警告以利。以利的回應讓我感到納悶。以利說，這是出於耶和華，願他憑自己的意旨而行。從表面上看起來，以利是很尊重上帝，願上帝憑自己的意旨而行。但是，他自己卻沒有遵照耶和華的三番兩次的警告，而設法禁止他那兩個兒子如此褻瀆耶和華的祭物與聖所。以利是大祭司，他的主要職責是幫助以色列民到神面前悔改認罪。但是，我們卻看不到以利自己在耶和華面前悔改認罪。求主幫助我，常常在你的面前自我反省，真心悔改歸向你。
題目: 小撒母耳因還未認得上主的聲音(v6)，而分不出上主的聲音，透過以利的引導，小撒母耳才認得上主的聲音。試問，你是否也因未識上主聲音，而無法分辨？如今是否已得引導，能確認何為主的呼喚？(v1-10)
3:1 童子撒母耳在以利面前事奉耶和華。當那些日子，耶和華的言語稀少，不常有默示。
Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the LORD under Eli. And the word of the LORD was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision.
3:2 一日，以利睡臥在自己的地方；他眼目昏花，看不分明。
At that time Eli, whose eyesight had begun to grow dim, so that he could not see, was lying down in his own place;
3:3 神的燈在 神耶和華殿內約櫃那裡，還沒有熄滅，撒母耳已經睡了。
the lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down within the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was.
3:4 耶和華呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳說：「我在這裡！」
Then the LORD called, "Samuel! Samuel!" and he said, "Here I am!"
3:5 就跑到以利那裡，說：「你呼喚我？我在這裡。」以利回答說：「我沒有呼喚你，你去睡吧。」他就去睡了。
and ran to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you called me." But he said, "I did not call; lie down again." So he went and lay down.
3:6 耶和華又呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳起來，到以利那裡，說：「你呼喚我？我在這裡。」以利回答說：「我的兒，我沒有呼喚你，你去睡吧。」
And the LORD called again, "Samuel!" And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you called me." But he said, "I did not call, my son; lie down again."
3:7 那時撒母耳還未認識耶和華，也未得耶和華的默示。
Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, and the word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him.
3:8 耶和華第三次呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳起來，到以利那裡，說：「你又呼喚我？我在這裡。」以利才明白是耶和華呼喚童子。
And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you called me." Then Eli perceived that the LORD was calling the boy.
3:9 因此以利對撒母耳說：「你仍去睡吧；若再呼喚你，你就說：『耶和華啊，請說，僕人敬聽！』」撒母耳就去，仍睡在原處。
Therefore Eli said to Samuel, "Go, lie down; and if he calls you, you shall say, `Speak, LORD, for thy servant hears.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
3:10 耶和華又來站著，像前三次呼喚說：「撒母耳啊！撒母耳啊！」撒母耳回答說：「請說，僕人敬聽！」
And the LORD came and stood forth, calling as at other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel said, "Speak, for thy servant hears."
3:11 耶和華對撒母耳說：「我在以色列中必行一件事，叫聽見的人都必耳鳴。
Then the LORD said to Samuel, "Behold, I am about to do a thing in Israel, at which the two ears of every one that hears it will tingle.
3:12 我指著以利家所說的話，到了時候，我必始終應驗在以利身上。
On that day I will fulfil against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end.
3:13 我曾告訴他必永遠降罰與他的家，因他知道兒子作孽，自招咒詛，卻不禁止他們。
And I tell him that I am about to punish his house for ever, for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God, and he did not restrain them.
3:14 所以我向以利家起誓說：『以利家的罪孽，雖獻祭奉禮物，永不能得贖去。』」
Therefore I swear to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be expiated by sacrifice or offering for ever."
3:15 撒母耳睡到天亮，就開了耶和華的殿門，不敢將默示告訴以利。
Samuel lay until morning; then he opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel was afraid to tell the vision to Eli.
3:16 以利呼喚撒母耳說：「我兒撒母耳啊！」撒母耳回答說：「我在這裡！」
But Eli called Samuel and said, "Samuel, my son." And he said, "Here I am."
3:17 以利說：「耶和華對你說甚麼，你不要向我隱瞞；你若將 神對你所說的隱瞞一句，願他重重地降罰與你。」
And Eli said, "What was it that he told you? Do not hide it from me. May God do so to you and more also, if you hide anything from me of all that he told you."
3:18 撒母耳就把一切話都告訴了以利，並沒有隱瞞。以利說：「這是出於耶和華，願他憑自己的意旨而行。」
So Samuel told him everything and hid nothing from him. And he said, "It is the LORD; let him do what seems good to him."
3:19 撒母耳長大了，耶和華與他同在，使他所說的話一句都不落空。
And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.
3:20 從但到別是巴所有的以色列人都知道耶和華立撒母耳為先知。
And all Israel from Dan to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established as a prophet of the LORD.
3:21 耶和華又在示羅顯現；因為耶和華將自己的話默示撒母耳，撒母耳就把這話傳遍以色列地。
And the LORD appeared again at Shiloh, for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the word of the LORD.

『既放出自己的羊來，就在前頭走，羊也跟著他，因為認得他的聲音。羊不跟著生人，因為不認得他的聲音，必要逃跑』（約10：4、5）

身為基督徒的我們，每天都要學習聆聽主的聲音，就好像羊聽懂牧人的聲音一樣；牧羊人走在前面，對著羊說的可能是簡單的一兩句話，羊群就認得（聽得懂）牧羊人的口令，他們就乖乖的聽從牧羊人的指示。
主耶穌基督說：『我的羊聽我的聲音，我也認識他們，他們也跟著我』（約10：27），人們是可以聽到主跟我們講話的聲音。
我們今天也是要學習聽主的聲音，雖整天在繁忙的生活中，環繞在吵雜的各種聲響裡面，我們所聽到的都是人的聲音。求主幫助我們，我們需要努力學習安靜、聆聽主的聲音，真理的聖靈，住在我們裡面，常與我們同在，祂會用各樣的方法對我們說話，祂會教導我們，明瞭上帝的話。藉著讀經，禱告，安靜，聆聽，默想，我們會聽到主在對我們說話。有些人可能聽不懂，但我們認識主，認識上帝，認識聖靈，我們可以感覺到這位獨一的真神，聽到祂慈愛的聲音，一步一步地帶領我們走前面的到路。
