After two whole years, Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing by the Nile, 41:2 有七隻母牛從河裡上來,又美好又肥壯,在蘆荻中吃草。 and behold, there came up out of the Nile seven cows sleek and fat, and they fed in the reed grass. And behold, seven other cows, gaunt and thin, came up out of the Nile after them, and stood by the other cows on the bank of the Nile . 41:4 這又醜陋又乾瘦的七隻母牛吃盡了那又美好又肥壯的七隻母牛。 And the gaunt and thin cows ate up the seven sleek and fat cows. And Pharaoh awoke. And he fell asleep and dreamed a second time; and behold, seven ears of grain, plump and good, were growing on one stalk. And behold, after them sprouted seven ears, thin and blighted by the east wind. And the thin ears swallowed up the seven plump and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and behold, it was a dream. So in the morning his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt and all its wise men; and Pharaoh told them his dream, but there was none who could interpret it to Pharaoh. Then the chief butler said to Pharaoh, "I remember my faults today. When Pharaoh was angry with his servants, and put me and the chief baker in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, 41:11 我們二人同夜各做一夢,各夢都有講解。 we dreamed on the same night, he and I, each having a dream with its own meaning. A young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard; and when we told him, he interpreted our dreams to us, giving an interpretation to each man according to his dream. And as he interpreted to us, so it came to pass; I was restored to my office, and the baker was hanged." 41:14 法老遂即差人去召約瑟,他們便急忙帶他出監,他就剃頭,刮臉,換衣裳,進到法老面前。 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon; and when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came in before Pharaoh. And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it; and I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it." 41:16 約瑟回答法老說:「這不在乎我, 神必將平安的話回答法老。」 Joseph answered Pharaoh, "It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer." 41:17 法老對約瑟說:「我夢見我站在河邊, Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Behold, in my dream I was standing on the banks of the Nile; 41:18 有七隻母牛從河裡上來,又肥壯又美好,在蘆荻中吃草。 and seven cows, fat and sleek, came up out of the Nile and fed in the reed grass; 41:19 隨後又有七隻母牛上來,又軟弱又醜陋又乾瘦,在埃及遍地,我沒有見過這樣不好的。 and seven other cows came up after them, poor and very gaunt and thin, such as I had never seen in all the land of Egypt . 41:20 這又乾瘦又醜陋的母牛吃盡了那以先的七隻肥母牛, And the thin and gaunt cows ate up the first seven fat cows, 41:21 吃了以後卻看不出是吃了,那醜陋的樣子仍舊和先前一樣。 but when they had eaten them no one would have known that they had eaten them, for they were still as gaunt as at the beginning. Then I awoke. I also saw in my dream seven ears growing on one stalk, full and good; 41:23 隨後又長了七個穗子,枯槁細弱,被東風吹焦了。 and seven ears, withered, thin, and blighted by the east wind, sprouted after them, 41:24 這些細弱的穗子吞了那七個佳美的穗子。 and the thin ears swallowed up the seven good ears. And I told it to the magicians, but there was no one who could explain it to me." 41:25 約瑟對法老說:「法老的夢乃是一個。 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, "The dream of Pharaoh is one; God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 41:26 七隻好母牛是七年,七個好穗子也是七年;這夢乃是一個。 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years; the dream is one. The seven lean and gaunt cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears blighted by the east wind are also seven years of famine. It is as I told Pharaoh, God has shown to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 41:29 埃及遍地必來七個大豐年, There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt, 41:30 隨後又要來七個荒年,甚至在埃及地都忘了先前的豐收,全地必被饑荒所滅。 but after them there will arise seven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt; the famine will consume the land, 41:31 因那以後的饑荒甚大,便不覺得先前的豐收了。 and the plenty will be unknown in the land by reason of that famine which will follow, for it will be very grievous. And the doubling of Pharaoh's dream means that the thing is fixed by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass. Now therefore let Pharaoh select a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt . 41:34 法老當這樣行,又派官員管理這地。 Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land, and take the fifth part of the produce of the land of Egypt during the seven plenteous years. And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming, and lay up grain under the authority of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and let them keep it. 41:36 所積蓄的糧食可以防備埃及地將來的七個荒年,免得這地被饑荒所滅。」 That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine which are to befall the land of Egypt, so that the land may not perish through the famine." 41:37 法老和他一切臣僕都以這事為妙。 This proposal seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his servants. And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find such a man as this, in whom is the Spirit of God?" 41:39 法老對約瑟說:「 神既將這事都指示你,可見沒有人像你這樣有聰明有智慧。 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discreet and wise as you are; 41:40 你可以掌管我的家;我的民都必聽從你的話。 you shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command; only as regards the throne will I be greater than you." 41:41 法老又對約瑟說:「我派你治理埃及全地。」 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Behold, I have set you over all the land of Egypt." 41:42 法老就摘下手上打印的戒指,戴在約瑟的手上,給他穿上細麻衣,把金鍊戴在他的頸項上, Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in garments of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; 41:43 又叫約瑟坐他的副車,喝道的在前呼叫說:「跪下。」 and he made him to ride in his second chariot; and they cried before him, "Bow the knee!" Thus he set him over all the land of Egypt . 41:44 法老對約瑟說:「我是法老,在埃及全地,若沒有你的命令,不許人擅自辦事【原文作動手動腳】。」 Moreover Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no man shall lift up hand or foot in all the land of Egypt." 41:45 法老賜名給約瑟,叫撒發那忒巴內亞,又將安城的祭司波提非拉的女兒亞西納給他為妻。 And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaph'enath-pane'ah; and he gave him in marriage As'enath, the daughter of Poti'phera priest of On. So Joseph went out over the land of Egypt . 41:46 約瑟見埃及王法老的時候年三十歲。 Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt . And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went through all the land of Egypt . 41:47 七個豐年之內,地的出產極豐極盛【原文作一把一把的】, During the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth abundantly, 41:48 約瑟聚歛埃及地七個豐年一切的糧食,把糧食積存在各城裡;各城周圍田地的糧食都積存在本城裡。 and he gathered up all the food of the seven years when there was plenty in the land of Egypt , and stored up food in the cities; he stored up in every city the food from the fields around it. 41:49 約瑟積蓄五穀甚多,如同海邊的沙,無法計算,因為穀不可勝數。 And Joseph stored up grain in great abundance, like the sand of the sea, until he ceased to measure it, for it could not be measured. Before the year of famine came, Joseph had two sons, whom As'enath, the daughter of Poti'phera priest of On, bore to him. Joseph called the name of the first-born Manas'seh, "For," he said, "God has made me forget all my hardship and all my father's house." 41:52 他給次子起名叫以法蓮【就是使之昌盛的意思】,因為他說:「 神使我在受苦的地方昌盛。」 The name of the second he called E'phraim, "For God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction." 41:53 埃及地的七個豐年一完, The seven years of plenty that prevailed in the land of Egypt came to an end; 41:54 七個荒年就來了。 and the seven years of famine began to come, as Joseph had said. There was famine in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. When all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread; and Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, "Go to Joseph; what he says to you, do." 41:56 當時饑荒遍滿天下,約瑟開了各處的倉,糶糧給埃及人;在埃及地饑荒甚大。 So when the famine had spread over all the land, Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe in the land of Egypt . 41:57 各地的人都往埃及去,到約瑟那裡糴糧,因為天下的饑荒甚大。 Moreover, all the earth came to Egypt to Joseph to buy grain, because the famine was severe over all the earth.
"Behold, I send my messenger to prepare the way before me, and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts. But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? "For he is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap; 3:3 他必坐下如煉淨銀子的,必潔淨利未人,熬煉他們像金銀一樣;他們就憑公義獻供物給耶和華。 he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, till they present right offerings to the LORD. 3:4 那時,猶大和耶路撒冷所獻的供物必蒙耶和華悅納,彷彿古時之日、上古之年。 Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the LORD as in the days of old and as in former years. "Then I will draw near to you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow and the orphan, against those who thrust aside the sojourner, and do not fear me, says the LORD of hosts. "For I the LORD do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. But you say, `How shall we return?' 3:8 人豈可奪取 神之物呢? Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, `How are we robbing thee?' In your tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me; the whole nation of you. Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house; and thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil; and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the LORD of hosts. Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the LORD of hosts. "Your words have been stout against me, says the LORD. Yet you say, `How have we spoken against thee?' 3:14 你們說:『事奉 神是徒然的,遵守 神所吩咐的,在萬軍之耶和華面前苦苦齋戒,有甚麼益處呢? You have said, `It is vain to serve God. What is the good of our keeping his charge or of walking as in mourning before the LORD of hosts? Henceforth we deem the arrogant blessed; evildoers not only prosper but when they put God to the test they escape.'" 3:16 那時,敬畏耶和華的彼此談論,耶和華側耳而聽,且有紀念冊在他面前,記錄那敬畏耶和華、思念他名的人。 Then those who feared the LORD spoke with one another; the LORD heeded and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the LORD and thought on his name. "They shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Then once more you shall distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.
"For behold, the day comes, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. But for you who fear my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go forth leaping like calves from the stall. And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the LORD of hosts. "Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and ordinances that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel . 4:5 「看哪,耶和華大而可畏之日未到以前,我必差遣先知以利亞到你們那裡去。 "Behold, I will send you Eli'jah the prophet before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes. And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the land with a curse."
