W4  2011-02-24 (40)

Some time after this, the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker offended their lord the king of Egypt.
40:2
And Pharaoh was angry with his two officers, the chief butler and the chief baker,
40:3
and he put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the prison where Joseph was confined.
40:4
The captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he waited on them; and they continued for some time in custody.
40:5
And one night they both dreamed -- the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt , who were confined in the prison -- each his own dream, and each dream with its own meaning.
40:6
When Joseph came to them in the morning and saw them, they were troubled.
40:7
So he asked Pharaoh's officers who were with him in custody in his master's house, "Why are your faces downcast today?"
40:8
They said to him, "We have had dreams, and there is no one to interpret them." And Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, I pray you."
40:9
So the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, "In my dream there was a vine before me,
40:10
and on the vine there were three branches; as soon as it budded, its blossoms shot forth, and the clusters ripened into grapes.
40:11
Pharaoh's cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand."
40:12
約瑟對他說:「他所做的夢是這樣解:三根枝子就是三天;
Then Joseph said to him, "This is its interpretation: the three branches are three days;
40:13
within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your office; and you shall place Pharaoh's cup in his hand as formerly, when you were his butler.
40:14
But remember me, when it is well with you, and do me the kindness, I pray you, to make mention of me to Pharaoh, and so get me out of this house.
40:15
For I was indeed stolen out of the land of the Hebrews; and here also I have done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon."
40:16
膳長見夢解得好,就對約瑟說:「我在夢中見我頭上頂著三筐白餅;
When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was favorable, he said to Joseph, "I also had a dream: there were three cake baskets on my head,
40:17
and in the uppermost basket there were all sorts of baked food for Pharaoh, but the birds were eating it out of the basket on my head."
40:18
約瑟說:「你的夢是這樣解:三個筐子就是三天;
And Joseph answered, "This is its interpretation: the three baskets are three days;
40:19
within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head -- from you! -- and hang you on a tree; and the birds will eat the flesh from you."
40:20
On the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, he made a feast for all his servants, and lifted up the head of the chief butler and the head of the chief baker among his servants.
40:21
使酒政官復原職,他仍舊遞杯在法老手中;
He restored the chief butler to his butlership, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh's hand;
40:22
but he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them.
40:23
Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.

How graceful are your feet in sandals, O queenly maiden! Your rounded thighs are like jewels, the work of a master hand.
7:2
Your navel is a rounded bowl that never lacks mixed wine. Your belly is a heap of wheat, encircled with lilies.
7:3
Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle.
7:4
Your neck is like an ivory tower. Your eyes are pools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bath-rab'bim. Your nose is like a tower of Lebanon , overlooking Damascus .
7:5
Your head crowns you like Carmel , and your flowing locks are like purple; a king is held captive in the tresses.
7:6
How fair and pleasant you are, O loved one, delectable maiden!
7:7
You are stately as a palm tree, and your breasts are like its clusters.
7:8
我說:我要上這棕樹,抓住枝子。願你的兩乳好像葡萄纍纍下垂,你鼻子的氣味香如蘋果;
I say I will climb the palm tree and lay hold of its branches. Oh, may your breasts be like clusters of the vine, and the scent of your breath like apples,
7:9
and your kisses like the best wine that goes down smoothly, gliding over lips and teeth.
7:10
I am my beloved's, and his desire is for me.
7:11
Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the fields, and lodge in the villages;
7:12
let us go out early to the vineyards, and see whether the vines have budded, whether the grape blossoms have opened and the pomegranates are in bloom. There I will give you my love.
7:13
The mandrakes give forth fragrance, and over our doors are all choice fruits, new as well as old, which I have laid up for you, O my beloved.

O that you were like a brother to me, that nursed at my mother's breast! If I met you outside, I would kiss you, and none would despise me.
8:2
I would lead you and bring you into the house of my mother, and into the chamber of her that conceived me. I would give you spiced wine to drink, the juice of my pomegranates.
8:3
O that his left hand were under my head, and that his right hand embraced me!
8:4
I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem , that you stir not up nor awaken love until it please.
8:5
Who is that coming up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? Under the apple tree I awakened you. There your mother was in travail with you, there she who bore you was in travail.
8:6
Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death, jealousy is cruel as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a most vehement flame.
8:7
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly scorned.
8:8
We have a little sister, and she has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister, on the day when she is spoken for?
8:9
If she is a wall, we will build upon her a battlement of silver; but if she is a door, we will enclose her with boards of cedar.
8:10
I was a wall, and my breasts were like towers; then I was in his eyes as one who brings peace.
8:11
Solomon had a vineyard at Ba'al-ha'mon; he let out the vineyard to keepers; each one was to bring for its fruit a thousand pieces of silver.
8:12
My vineyard, my very own, is for myself; you, O Solomon, may have the thousand, and the keepers of the fruit two hundred.
8:13
O you who dwell in the gardens, my companions are listening for your voice; let me hear it.
8:14
Make haste, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or a young stag upon the mountains of spices.
