經文: 創世紀 32:25 那人見自己勝不過他，就將他的大腿窩摸了一把，雅各的大腿窩正在摔跤的時候就扭了。
默想: 雅各最強壯，最倚賴的大腿筋被扭傷了。這個傷讓雅各面對他所害怕的哥哥以掃時，走投無路。雅各只有更加完全的信靠耶和華的保護。當使徒保羅三次求主來醫治他身上軟弱的那根刺時，主卻不應允，而對保羅說，我的恩典夠你用。保羅從此學會軟弱中更加依靠上帝而得到的剛強。親愛的主啊！求你也讓我承受你所認為必要的傷害，好讓我更加緊緊的依靠你的恩典與保護。
題目: 在1-21節中，雅各對於面對以掃的心境與態度為何？為何他要以禮物解哥哥的恨？
32:1 雅各仍舊行路， 神的使者遇見他。
Jacob went on his way and the angels of God met him;
32:2 雅各看見他們就說：「這是 神的軍兵」，於是給那地方起名叫瑪哈念【就是二軍兵的意思】。
and when Jacob saw them he said, "This is God's army!" So he called the name of that place Mahana'im.
32:3 雅各打發人先往西珥地去，就是以東地，見他哥哥以掃，
And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother in the land of Se'ir, the country of Edom,
32:4 吩咐他們說：「你們對我主以掃說：『你的僕人雅各這樣說：我在拉班那裡寄居，直到如今。
instructing them, "Thus you shall say to my lord Esau: Thus says your servant Jacob, `I have sojourned with Laban, and stayed until now;
32:5 我有牛、驢、羊群、僕婢，現在打發人來報告我主，為要在你眼前蒙恩。』」
and I have oxen, asses, flocks, menservants, and maidservants; and I have sent to tell my lord, in order that I may find favor in your sight.'"
32:6 所打發的人回到雅各那裡，說：「我們到了你哥哥以掃那裡，他帶著四百人，正迎著你來。」
And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, "We came to your brother Esau, and he is coming to meet you, and four hundred men with him."
32:7 雅各就甚懼怕，而且愁煩，便把那與他同在的人口和羊群、牛群、駱駝分做兩隊，
Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed; and he divided the people that were with him, and the flocks and herds and camels, into two companies,
32:8 說：「以掃若來擊殺這一隊，剩下的那一隊還可以逃避。」
thinking, "If Esau comes to the one company and destroys it, then the company which is left will escape."
32:9 雅各說：「耶和華─我祖亞伯拉罕的 神，我父親以撒的 神啊，你曾對我說：『回你本地本族去，我要厚待你。』
And Jacob said, "O God of my father Abraham and God of my father Isaac, O LORD who didst say to me, `Return to your country and to your kindred, and I will do you good,'
32:10 你向僕人所施的一切慈愛和誠實，我一點也不配得；我先前只拿著我的杖過這約旦河，如今我卻成了兩隊了。
I am not worthy of the least of all the steadfast love and all the faithfulness which thou hast shown to thy servant, for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan; and now I have become two companies.
32:11 求你救我脫離我哥哥以掃的手；因為我怕他來殺我，連妻子帶兒女一同殺了。
Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau, for I fear him, lest he come and slay us all, the mothers with the children.
32:12 你曾說：『我必定厚待你，使你的後裔如同海邊的沙，多得不可勝數。』」
But thou didst say, `I will do you good, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.'"
32:13 當夜，雅各在那裡住宿，就從他所有的物中拿禮物要送給他哥哥以掃：
So he lodged there that night, and took from what he had with him a present for his brother Esau,
32:14 母山羊二百隻，公山羊二十隻，母綿羊二百隻，公綿羊二十隻，
two hundred she-goats and twenty he-goats, two hundred ewes and twenty rams,
32:15 奶崽子的駱駝三十隻─各帶著崽子，母牛四十隻，公牛十隻，母驢二十匹，驢駒十匹；
thirty milch camels and their colts, forty cows and ten bulls, twenty she-asses and ten he-asses.
32:16 每樣各分一群，交在僕人手下，就對僕人說：「你們要在我前頭過去，使群群相離，有空閒的地方；」
These he delivered into the hand of his servants, every drove by itself, and said to his servants, "Pass on before me, and put a space between drove and drove."
32:17 又吩咐儘先走的說：「我哥哥以掃遇見你的時候，問你說：『你是那家的人？要往那裡去？你前頭？這些是誰的？』
He instructed the foremost, "When Esau my brother meets you, and asks you, `To whom do you belong? Where are you going? And whose are these before you?'
32:18 你就說：『是你僕人雅各的，是送給我主以掃的禮物；他自己也在我們後邊？。』」
then you shall say, `They belong to your servant Jacob; they are a present sent to my lord Esau; and moreover he is behind us.'"
32:19 又吩咐第二、第三，和一切趕群畜的人說：「你們遇見以掃的時候也要這樣對他說；
He likewise instructed the second and the third and all who followed the droves, "You shall say the same thing to Esau when you meet him,
32:20 並且你們要說：『你僕人雅各在我們後邊。』」因雅各心裡說：「我藉著在我前頭去的禮物解他的恨，然後再見他的面，或者他容納我。」
and you shall say, `Moreover your servant Jacob is behind us.'" For he thought, "I may appease him with the present that goes before me, and afterwards I shall see his face; perhaps he will accept me."
32:21 於是禮物先過去了；那夜，雅各在隊中住宿。
So the present passed on before him; and he himself lodged that night in the camp.
32:22 他夜間起來，帶著兩個妻子，兩個使女，並十一個兒子，都過了雅博渡口，
The same night he arose and took his two wives, his two maids, and his eleven children, and crossed the ford of the Jabbok.
32:23 先打發他們過河，又打發所有的都過去，
He took them and sent them across the stream, and likewise everything that he had.
32:24 只剩下雅各一人。有一個人來和他摔跤，直到黎明。
And Jacob was left alone; and a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day.
32:25 那人見自己勝不過他，就將他的大腿窩摸了一把，雅各的大腿窩正在摔跤的時候就扭了。
When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and Jacob's thigh was put out of joint as he wrestled with him.
32:26 那人說：「天黎明了，容我去吧！」雅各說：「你不給我祝福，我就不容你去。」
Then he said, "Let me go, for the day is breaking." But Jacob said, "I will not let you go, unless you bless me."
32:27 那人說：「你名叫甚麼？」他說：「我名叫雅各。」
And he said to him, "What is your name?" And he said, "Jacob."
32:28 那人說：「你的名不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列；因為你與 神與人較力，都得了勝。」
Then he said, "Your name shall no more be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed."
32:29 雅各問他說：「請將你的名告訴我。」那人說：「何必問我的名？」於是在那裡給雅各祝福。
Then Jacob asked him, "Tell me, I pray, your name." But he said, "Why is it that you ask my name?" And there he blessed him.
32:30 雅各便給那地方起名叫毗努伊勒【就是 神之面的意思】，意思說：「我面對面見了 神，我的性命仍得保全。」
So Jacob called the name of the place Peni'el, saying, "For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life is preserved."
32:31 日頭剛出來的時候，雅各經過毗努伊勒，他的大腿就瘸了。
The sun rose upon him as he passed Penu'el, limping because of his thigh.
32:32 故此，以色列人不吃大腿窩的筋，直到今日，因為那人摸了雅各大腿窩的筋。
Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the sinew of the hip which is upon the hollow of the thigh, because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh on the sinew of the hip.

W2 2011-02-15 (啟18:1-19:21)
經文: 啟示錄 18:3 因為列國都被他邪淫大怒的酒傾倒了。地上的君王與他行淫；地上的客商因他奢華太過就發了財。
默想: 政治與經濟在末日成為被上帝審判的對象。求主教導我們，在掌權與利益兩方面，都會小心尋求你的旨意，以免在末日，遭受你公義的審判。在掌權方面，願意學習主耶穌的榜樣，以上帝所賞賜的權柄來服侍弱勢的族群。在經濟方面，願意張開雙手，去分享幫助所有需要幫助的孤兒寡婦。
題目: 你對這位大淫婦所象徵的世界政治與經濟情況有何感想呢？
18:1 此後，我看見另有一位有大權柄的天使從天降下，地就因他的榮耀發光。
After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority; and the earth was made bright with his splendor.
18:2 他大聲喊著說：巴比倫大城傾倒了！傾倒了！成了鬼魔的住處和各樣污穢之靈的巢穴（或作：牢獄；下同），並各樣污穢可憎之雀鳥的巢穴。
And he called out with a mighty voice, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! It has become a dwelling place of demons, a haunt of every foul spirit, a haunt of every foul and hateful bird;
18:3 因為列國都被她邪淫大怒的酒傾倒了。地上的君王與她行淫；地上的客商因她奢華太過就發了財。
for all nations have drunk the wine of her impure passion, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich with the wealth of her wantonness."
18:4 我又聽見從天上有聲音說：我的民哪，你們要從那城出來，免得與她一同有罪，受她所受的災殃；
Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues;
18:5 因她的罪惡滔天；她的不義 神已經想起來了。
for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
18:6 她怎樣待人，也要怎樣待她，按她所行的加倍的報應她；用她調酒的杯加倍的調給她喝。
Render to her as she herself has rendered, and repay her double for her deeds; mix a double draught for her in the cup she mixed.
18:7 她怎樣榮耀自己，怎樣奢華，也當叫她照樣痛苦悲哀，因她心裡說：我坐了皇后的位，並不是寡婦，決不至於悲哀。
As she glorified herself and played the wanton, so give her a like measure of torment and mourning. Since in her heart she says, `A queen I sit, I am no widow, mourning I shall never see,'
18:8 所以在一天之內，她的災殃要一齊來到，就是死亡、悲哀、饑荒。她又要被火燒盡了，因為審判她的主 神大有能力。
so shall her plagues come in a single day, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she shall be burned with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who judges her."
18:9 地上的君王，素來與她行淫、一同奢華的，看見燒她的煙，就必為她哭泣哀號。
And the kings of the earth, who committed fornication and were wanton with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning;
18:10 因怕她的痛苦，就遠遠的站著說：哀哉！哀哉！巴比倫大城，堅固的城啊，一時之間你的刑罰就來到了。
they will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say, "Alas! alas! thou great city, thou mighty city, Babylon ! In one hour has thy judgment come."
18:11 地上的客商也都為他哭泣悲哀，因為沒有人再買他們的貨物了；
And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo any more,
18:12 這貨物就是金、銀、寶石、珍珠、細麻布、紫色料、綢子、朱紅色料、各樣香木、各樣象牙的器皿、各樣極寶貴的木頭，和銅、鐵、漢白玉的器皿，
cargo of gold, silver, jewels and pearls, fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet, all kinds of scented wood, all articles of ivory, all articles of costly wood, bronze, iron and marble,
18:13 並肉桂、荳蔻、香料、香膏、乳香、酒、油、細麵、麥子、牛、羊、車、馬，和奴僕、人口。
cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls.
18:14 巴比倫哪，你所貪愛的果子離開了你；你一切的珍饈美味，和華美的物件也從你中間毀滅，決不能再見了。
"The fruit for which thy soul longed has gone from thee, and all thy dainties and thy splendor are lost to thee, never to be found again!"
18:15 販賣這些貨物、藉著她發了財的客商，因怕她的痛苦，就遠遠的站著哭泣悲哀，說：
The merchants of these wares, who gained wealth from her, will stand far off, in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning aloud,
18:16 哀哉！哀哉！這大城啊，素常穿著細麻、紫色、朱紅色的衣服，又用金子、寶石，和珍珠為妝飾。
"Alas, alas, for the great city that was clothed in fine linen, in purple and scarlet, bedecked with gold, with jewels, and with pearls!
18:17 一時之間，這麼大的富厚就歸於無有了。凡船主和坐船往各處去的，並眾水手，連所有靠海為業的，都遠遠的站著，
In one hour all this wealth has been laid waste." And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off
18:18 看見燒她的煙，就喊著說：有何城能比這大城呢？
and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, "What city was like the great city?"
18:19 他們又把塵土撒在頭上，哭泣悲哀，喊著說：哀哉！哀哉！這大城啊。凡有船在海中的，都因他的珍寶成了富足！他在一時之間就成了荒場！
And they threw dust on their heads, as they wept and mourned, crying out, "Alas, alas, for the great city where all who had ships at sea grew rich by her wealth! In one hour she has been laid waste.
18:20 天哪，眾聖徒、眾使徒、眾先知啊，你們都要因她歡喜，因為 神已經在她身上伸了你們的冤。
Rejoice over her, O heaven, O saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her!"
18:21 有一位大力的天使舉起一塊石頭，好像大磨石，扔在海裡，說：巴比倫大城也必這樣猛力的被扔下去，決不能再見了。
Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "So shall Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and shall be found no more;
18:22 彈琴、作樂、吹笛、吹號的聲音，在你中間決不能再聽見；各行手藝人在你中間決不能再遇見；推磨的聲音在你中間決不能再聽見；
and the sound of harpers and minstrels, of flute players and trumpeters, shall be heard in thee no more; and a craftsman of any craft shall be found in thee no more; and the sound of the millstone shall be heard in thee no more;
18:23 燈光在你中間決不能再照耀；新郎和新婦的聲音，在你中間決不能再聽見。你的客商原來是地上的尊貴人；萬國也被你的邪術迷惑了。
and the light of a lamp shall shine in thee no more; and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard in thee no more; for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, and all nations were deceived by thy sorcery.
18:24 先知和聖徒，並地上一切被殺之人的血，都在這城裡看見了。
And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth."
19:1 此後，我聽見好像群眾在天上大聲說：哈利路亞（就是要讚美耶和華的意思）！救恩、榮耀、權能都屬乎我們的 神！
After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,
19:2 他的判斷是真實公義的；因他判斷了那用淫行敗壞世界的大淫婦，並且向淫婦討流僕人血的罪，給他們伸冤。
for his judgments are true and just; he has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication, and he has avenged on her the blood of his servants."
19:3 又說：哈利路亞！燒淫婦的煙往上冒，直到永永遠遠。
Once more they cried, "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever."
19:4 那二十四位長老與四活物就俯伏敬拜坐寶座的 神，說：阿們！哈利路亞！
And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who is seated on the throne, saying, "Amen. Hallelujah!"
19:5 有聲音從寶座出來說： 神的眾僕人哪，凡敬畏他的，無論大小，都要讚美我們的 神！
And from the throne came a voice crying, "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great."
19:6 我聽見好像群眾的聲音，眾水的聲音，大雷的聲音，說：哈利路亞！因為主─我們的 神、全能者作王了。
Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty thunderpeals, crying, "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.
19:7 我們要歡喜快樂，將榮耀歸給他。因為，羔羊婚娶的時候到了；新婦也自己預備好了，
Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;
19:8 就蒙恩得穿光明潔白的細麻衣。（這細麻衣就是聖徒所行的義。）
it was granted her to be clothed with fine linen, bright and pure" -- for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.
19:9 天使吩咐我說：你要寫上：凡被請赴羔羊之婚筵的有福了！又對我說：這是 神真實的話。
And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are true words of God."
19:10 我就俯伏在他腳前要拜他。他說：千萬不可！我和你，並你那些為耶穌作見證的弟兄同是作僕人的，你要敬拜 神。因為預言中的靈意乃是為耶穌作見證。
Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God." For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
19:11 我觀看，見天開了。有一匹白馬，騎在馬上的稱為誠信真實，他審判，爭戰，都按著公義。
Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.
19:12 他的眼睛如火焰，他頭上戴著許多冠冕；又有寫著的名字，除了他自己沒有人知道。
His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems; and he has a name inscribed which no one knows but himself.
19:13 他穿著濺了血的衣服；他的名稱為 神之道。
He is clad in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.
19:14 在天上的眾軍騎著白馬，穿著細麻衣，又白又潔，跟隨他。
And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, followed him on white horses.
19:15 有利劍從他口中出來，可以擊殺列國。他必用鐵杖轄管（轄管：原文是牧）他們，並要踹全能 神烈怒的酒醡。
From his mouth issues a sharp sword with which to smite the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron; he will tread the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
19:16 在他衣服和大腿上有名寫著說：萬王之王，萬主之主。
On his robe and on his thigh he has a name inscribed, King of kings and Lord of lords.
19:17 我又看見一位天使站在日頭中，向天空所飛的鳥大聲喊著說：你們聚集來赴 神的大筵席，
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to all the birds that fly in midheaven, "Come, gather for the great supper of God,
19:18 可以吃君王與將軍的肉，壯士與馬和騎馬者的肉，並一切自主的為奴的，以及大小人民的肉。
to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, both small and great."
19:19 我看見那獸和地上的君王，並他們的眾軍都聚集，要與騎白馬的並他的軍兵爭戰。
And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who sits upon the horse and against his army.
19:20 那獸被擒拿；那在獸面前曾行奇事、迷惑受獸印記和拜獸像之人的假先知，也與獸同被擒拿。他們兩個就活活的被扔在燒著硫磺的火湖裡；
And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had worked the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur.
19:21 其餘的被騎白馬者口中出來的劍殺了；飛鳥都吃飽了他們的肉。
And the rest were slain by the sword of him who sits upon the horse, the sword that issues from his mouth; and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.
