默想: 約坦行耶和華眼中看為正的事，只是不入耶和華的殿。約坦遵行耶和華的律法，但是卻不到聖殿敬拜神，親近神。或許是因為他的父親烏西雅王年老時，因為心高氣傲，強行進入聖殿，要親自燒香，因此，耶和華立刻處罰烏西雅王，讓他長了大痲瘋。約坦王或許因此對聖殿與耶和華產生敬畏與害怕的心，不趕進入聖殿。求主幫助我，不只是在日常生活中盡心力遵行上帝的旨意與命令，更喜歡常常到聖殿親近上帝，敬拜侍奉耶和華。

題目: 猶大王約坦的強盛，是因他忠實順從上主祂的上帝(v6)。試想，你願忠心順從上主直到永遠嗎? 

 

27:1 約坦登基的時候年二十五歲，在耶路撒冷作王十六年，他母親名叫耶路沙，是撒督的女兒。
Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jeru'shah the daughter of Zadok.
27:2 約坦行耶和華眼中看為正的事，效法他父烏西雅一切所行的，只是不入耶和華的殿。百姓還行邪僻的事。
And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD according to all that his father Uzzi'ah had done -- only he did not invade the temple of the LORD. But the people still followed corrupt practices.
27:3 約坦建立耶和華殿的上門，在俄斐勒城上多有建造，
He built the upper gate of the house of the LORD, and did much building on the wall of Ophel.
27:4 又在猶大山地建造城邑，在樹林中建築營寨和高樓。
Moreover he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and forts and towers on the wooded hills.
27:5 約坦與亞捫人的王打仗勝了他們，當年他們進貢銀一百他連得，小麥一萬歌珥，大麥一萬歌珥；第二年、第三年也是這樣。
He fought with the king of the Ammonites and prevailed against them. And the Ammonites gave him that year a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand cors of wheat and ten thousand of barley. The Ammonites paid him the same amount in the second and the third years.
27:6 約坦在耶和華─他　神面前行正道，以致日漸強盛。
So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.
27:7 約坦其餘的事和一切爭戰，並他的行為，都寫在以色列和猶大列王記上。
Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.
27:8 他登基的時候年二十五歲，在耶路撒冷作王十六年。
He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.
27:9 約坦與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城裡。他兒子亞哈斯接續他作王。
And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

經文: 歷代志下 25:2 亞瑪謝行耶和華眼中看為正的事，只是心不專誠。

默想: 亞瑪謝王的一生，聖經就用這兩句話來描述，他行耶和華眼中看為正的事，只是心不專誠。他等到國位一穩固，就下手殺死當年下手殺他父親的人，為王父復仇，但是他卻手下留情，沒有將他們的後代抄家滅族。他用銀子去以色列雇用外籍傭兵十萬人，卻肯聽先知的規勸而將他們釋出，不只損失了大批銀子，國家還遭遇這批人的傷害。他率軍東征，戰勝西珥人，消滅對方戰士兩萬人，卻將西珥的神像帶回國膜拜，而且因此趾高氣揚，驕傲的向北國以色列王約阿施討戰，結果是戰敗被俘。最後，他遭到人民背叛而將他殺死。求主幫助我，這一生能夠對主完全的忠誠，不要三心兩意。

題目: 神人對亞瑪謝王說：「你也許以為他們會幫助你打仗；事實上，上帝才能決定勝負…」試想，當你面對困境時,你相信上主是決定勝負的主宰嗎? 

 

25:1 亞瑪謝登基的時候年二十五歲，在耶路撒冷作王二十九年。他母親名叫約耶但，是耶路撒冷人。
Amazi'ah was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jeho-ad'dan of Jerusalem.
25:2 亞瑪謝行耶和華眼中看為正的事，只是心不專誠。
And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, yet not with a blameless heart.
25:3 國一堅定，就把殺他父王的臣僕殺了，
And as soon as the royal power was firmly in his hand he killed his servants who had slain the king his father.
25:4 卻沒有治死他們的兒子，是照摩西律法書上耶和華所吩咐的說：「不可因子殺父，也不可因父殺子，各人要為本身的罪而死。」
But he did not put their children to death, according to what is written in the law, in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, or the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin."
25:5 亞瑪謝招聚猶大人，按著猶大和便雅憫的宗族設立千夫長、百夫長，又數點人數，從二十歲以外，能拿槍拿盾牌出去打仗的精兵共有三十萬；
Then Amazi'ah assembled the men of Judah, and set them by fathers' houses under commanders of thousands and of hundreds for all Judah and Benjamin. He mustered those twenty years old and upward, and found that they were three hundred thousand picked men, fit for war, able to handle spear and shield.
25:6 又用銀子一百他連得，從以色列招募了十萬大能的勇士。
He hired also a hundred thousand mighty men of valor from Israel for a hundred talents of silver.
25:7 有一個神人來見亞瑪謝，對他說：「王啊，不要使以色列的軍兵與你同去，因為耶和華不與以色列人以法蓮的後裔同在。
But a man of God came to him and said, "O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel, with all these E'phraimites.
25:8 你若一定要去，就奮勇爭戰吧！但　神必使你敗在敵人面前；因為　神能助人得勝，也能使人傾敗。」
But if you suppose that in this way you will be strong for war, God will cast you down before the enemy; for God has power to help or to cast down."
25:9 亞瑪謝問神人說：「我給了以色列軍的那一百他連得銀子怎麼樣呢？」神人回答說：「耶和華能把更多的賜給你。」
And Amazi'ah said to the man of God, "But what shall we do about the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel?" The man of God answered, "The LORD is able to give you much more than this."
25:10 於是亞瑪謝將那從以法蓮來的軍兵分別出來，叫他們回家去。故此，他們甚惱怒猶大人，氣忿忿地回家去了。
Then Amazi'ah discharged the army that had come to him from E'phraim, to go home again. And they became very angry with Judah, and returned home in fierce anger.
25:11 亞瑪謝壯起膽來，率領他的民到鹽谷，殺了西珥人一萬。
But Amazi'ah took courage, and led out his people, and went to the Valley of Salt and smote ten thousand men of Se'ir.
25:12 猶大人又生擒了一萬帶到山崖上，從那裡把他們扔下去，以致他們都摔碎了。
The men of Judah captured another ten thousand alive, and took them to the top of a rock and threw them down from the top of the rock; and they were all dashed to pieces.
25:13 但亞瑪謝所打發回去、不許一同出征的那些軍兵攻打猶大各城，從撒馬利亞直到伯•和崙，殺了三千人，搶了許多財物。
But the men of the army whom Amazi'ah sent back, not letting them go with him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah, from Sama'ria to Beth-hor'on, and killed three thousand people in them, and took much spoil.
25:14 亞瑪謝殺了以東人回來，就把西珥的神像帶回，立為自己的神，在它面前叩拜燒香。
After Amazi'ah came from the slaughter of the E'domites, he brought the gods of the men of Se'ir, and set them up as his gods, and worshiped them, making offerings to them.
25:15 因此，耶和華的怒氣向亞瑪謝發作，就差一個先知去見他，說：「這些神不能救他的民脫離你的手，你為何尋求他呢？」
Therefore the LORD was angry with Amazi'ah and sent to him a prophet, who said to him, "Why have you resorted to the gods of a people, which did not deliver their own people from your hand?"
25:16 先知與王說話的時候，王對他說：「誰立你作王的謀士呢？你住口吧！為何找打呢？」先知就止住了，又說：「你行這事，不聽從我的勸戒，我知道　神定意要滅你。」
But as he was speaking the king said to him, "Have we made you a royal counselor? Stop! Why should you be put to death?" So the prophet stopped, but said, "I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel."
25:17 猶大王亞瑪謝與群臣商議，就差遣使者去見耶戶的孫子、約哈斯的兒子、以色列王約阿施，說：「你來，我們二人相見於戰場。」
Then Amazi'ah king of Judah took counsel and sent to Jo'ash the son of Jeho'ahaz, son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, "Come, let us look one another in the face."
25:18 以色列王約阿施差遣使者去見猶大王亞瑪謝，說：「黎巴嫩的蒺藜差遣使者去見黎巴嫩的香柏樹，說：『將你的女兒給我兒子為妻。』後來黎巴嫩有一個野獸經過，把蒺藜踐踏了。
And Jo'ash the king of Israel sent word to Amazi'ah king of Judah, "A thistle on Lebanon sent to a cedar on Lebanon, saying, `Give your daughter to my son for a wife'; and a wild beast of Lebanon passed by and trampled down the thistle.
25:19 你說：『看哪，我打敗了以東人』，你就心高氣傲，以致矜誇。你在家裡安居就罷了，為何要惹禍使自己和猶大國一同敗亡呢？」
You say, `See, I have smitten Edom,' and your heart has lifted you up in boastfulness. But now stay at home; why should you provoke trouble so that you fall, you and Judah with you?"
25:20 亞瑪謝卻不肯聽從。這是出乎　神，好將他們交在敵人手裡，因為他們尋求以東的神。
But Amazi'ah would not listen; for it was of God, in order that he might give them into the hand of their enemies, because they had sought the gods of Edom.
25:21 於是以色列王約阿施上來，在猶大的伯•示麥與猶大王亞瑪謝相見於戰場。
So Jo'ash king of Israel went up; and he and Amazi'ah king of Judah faced one another in battle at Beth-she'mesh, which belongs to Judah.
25:22 猶大人敗在以色列人面前，各自逃回家裡去了。
And Judah was defeated by Israel, and every man fled to his home.
25:23 以色列王約阿施在伯•示麥擒住約哈斯【就是亞哈謝】的孫子、約阿施的兒子、猶大王亞瑪謝，將他帶到耶路撒冷，又拆毀耶路撒冷的城牆，從以法蓮門直到角門，共四百肘；
And Jo'ash king of Israel captured Amazi'ah king of Judah, the son of Jo'ash, son of Ahazi'ah, at Beth-she'mesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem for four hundred cubits, from the E'phraim Gate to the Corner Gate.
25:24 又將俄別•以東所看守　神殿裡的一切金銀和器皿，與王宮裡的財寶都拿了去，並帶人去為質，就回撒馬利亞去了。
And he seized all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of God, and O'bed-e'dom with them; he seized also the treasuries of the king's house, and hostages, and he returned to Sama'ria.
25:25 以色列王約哈斯的兒子約阿施死後，猶大王約阿施的兒子亞瑪謝又活了十五年。
Amazi'ah the son of Jo'ash king of Judah lived fifteen years after the death of Jo'ash the son of Jeho'ahaz, king of Israel.
25:26 亞瑪謝其餘的事，自始至終不都寫在猶大和以色列諸王記上嗎？
Now the rest of the deeds of Amazi'ah, from first to last, are they not written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel?
25:27 自從亞瑪謝離棄耶和華之後，在耶路撒冷有人背叛他，他就逃到拉吉；叛黨卻打發人到拉吉，將他殺了。
From the time when he turned away from the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. But they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.
25:28 人就用馬將他的屍首馱回，葬在猶大京城他列祖的墳地裡。
And they brought him upon horses; and he was buried with his fathers in the city of David.

經文: 歷代志下 24:20-22 那時，神的靈感動祭司耶何耶大的兒子撒迦利亞，他就站在上面對民說：「神如此說：你們為何干犯耶和華的誡命，以致不得亨通呢？因為你們離棄耶和華，所以他也離棄你們。」眾民同心謀害撒迦利亞，就照王的吩咐，在耶和華殿的院內用石頭打死他。這樣，約阿施王不想念撒迦利亞的父親耶何耶大向自己所施的恩，殺了他的兒子。撒迦利亞臨死的時候說：「願耶和華鑒察伸冤！」

默想: 這是一個悲慘的故事。約阿施王是在一歲時，父親亞哈謝前往北國以色列探望亞哈的兒子約蘭王，卻被耶戶所殺死。約阿施的祖母雅他利亞屠殺他自己的家族，篡位為女王。祭司耶何耶大與妻子約示巴冒生命危險把一歲的約阿施搶救出來，留一條活命，並冒生命危險將約阿施藏在聖殿中，逃避女王雅他利亞的追殺。在約阿施七歲時，又冒險與利未人以及個族長串連，發動革命，將雅他利亞女王處死，扶持約阿施登基為王。耶何耶大就像約阿施的養父一樣，將約阿施扶養長大，又把摩西的律法書拿來教導他，還為他取了兩個妻子。那裡知道，在耶何耶大年老去世之後，約阿施就離棄耶何耶大的教導，不再敬拜侍奉耶和華，轉而去敬拜偶像亞舍拉。耶何耶大的兒子撒迦利亞受到耶和華聖靈的感動，前往規勸約阿施王，沒有想到約阿施王不僅不聽他的規勸，還命令手下在耶和華聖殿院內，用石頭把撒迦利亞打死了。我想耶何耶大如果知道有這樣的下場，當年就不應該將襁褓中的約阿施搶救出來了。

題目: 耶何耶大去世，約阿施即離棄了上主，耶何耶大可稱是約阿施的屬靈導師。試想屬靈的長輩存在與否,會影響你跟隨上主嗎? 

 

24:1 約阿施登基的時候年七歲，在耶路撒冷作王四十年。他母親名叫西比亞，是別是巴人。
Jo'ash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem; his mother's name was Zib'iah of Beer-sheba.
24:2 祭司耶何耶大在世的時候，約阿施行耶和華眼中看為正的事。
And Jo'ash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days of Jehoi'ada the priest.
24:3 耶何耶大為他娶了兩個妻，並且生兒養女。
Jehoi'ada got for him two wives, and he had sons and daughters.
24:4 此後，約阿施有意重修耶和華的殿，
After this Jo'ash decided to restore the house of the LORD.
24:5 便召聚眾祭司和利未人，吩咐他們說：「你們要往猶大各城去，使以色列眾人捐納銀子，每年可以修理你們　神的殿；你們要急速辦理這事。」只是利未人不急速辦理。
And he gathered the priests and the Levites, and said to them, "Go out to the cities of Judah, and gather from all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year; and see that you hasten the matter." But the Levites did not hasten it.
24:6 王召了大祭司耶何耶大來，對他說：「從前耶和華的僕人摩西，為法櫃的帳幕與以色列會眾所定的捐項，你為何不叫利未人照這例從猶大和耶路撒冷帶來作殿的費用呢？」
So the king summoned Jehoi'ada the chief, and said to him, "Why have you not required the Levites to bring in from Judah and Jerusalem the tax levied by Moses, the servant of the LORD, on the congregation of Israel for the tent of testimony?"
24:7 〈因為那惡婦亞她利雅的眾子曾拆毀　神的殿，又用耶和華殿中分別為聖的物供奉巴力。〉
For the sons of Athali'ah, that wicked woman, had broken into the house of God; and had also used all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD for the Ba'als.
24:8 於是王下令，眾人做了一櫃，放在耶和華殿的門外，
So the king commanded, and they made a chest, and set it outside the gate of the house of the LORD.
24:9 又通告猶大和耶路撒冷的百姓，要將　神僕人摩西在曠野所吩咐以色列人的捐項給耶和華送來。
And proclamation was made throughout Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in for the LORD the tax that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.
24:10 眾首領和百姓都歡歡喜喜地將銀子送來，投入櫃中，直到捐完。
And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished.
24:11 利未人見銀子多了，就把櫃抬到王所派的司事面前；王的書記和大祭司的屬員來將櫃倒空，仍放在原處。日日都是這樣，積蓄的銀子甚多。
And whenever the chest was brought to the king's officers by the Levites, when they saw that there was much money in it, the king's secretary and the officer of the chief priest would come and empty the chest and take it and return it to its place. Thus they did day after day, and collected money in abundance.
24:12 王與耶何耶大將銀子交給耶和華殿裡辦事的人，他們就雇了石匠、木匠重修耶和華的殿，又雇了鐵匠、銅匠修理耶和華的殿。
And the king and Jehoi'ada gave it to those who had charge of the work of the house of the LORD, and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of the LORD, and also workers in iron and bronze to repair the house of the LORD.
24:13 工人操作，漸漸修成，將　神殿修造得與從前一樣，而且甚是堅固。
So those who were engaged in the work labored, and the repairing went forward in their hands, and they restored the house of God to its proper condition and strengthened it.
24:14 工程完了，他們就把其餘的銀子拿到王與耶何耶大面前，用以製造耶和華殿供奉所用的器皿和調羹，並金銀的器皿。耶何耶大在世的時候，眾人常在耶和華殿裡獻燔祭。
And when they had finished, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoi'ada, and with it were made utensils for the house of the LORD, both for the service and for the burnt offerings, and dishes for incense, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoi'ada.
24:15 耶何耶大年紀老邁，日子滿足而死。死的時候年一百三十歲，
But Jehoi'ada grew old and full of days, and died; he was a hundred and thirty years old at his death.
24:16 葬在大衛城列王的墳墓裡；因為他在以色列人中行善，又事奉　神，修理　神的殿。
And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, and toward God and his house.
24:17 耶何耶大死後，猶大的眾首領來朝拜王；王就聽從他們。
Now after the death of Jehoi'ada the princes of Judah came and did obeisance to the king; then the king hearkened to them.
24:18 他們離棄耶和華─他們列祖　神的殿，去事奉亞舍拉和偶像；因他們這罪，就有忿怒臨到猶大和耶路撒冷。
And they forsook the house of the LORD, the God of their fathers, and served the Ashe'rim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their guilt.
24:19 但　神仍遣先知到他們那裡，引導他們歸向耶和華。這先知警戒他們，他們卻不肯聽。
Yet he sent prophets among them to bring them back to the LORD; these testified against them, but they would not give heed.
24:20 那時，　神的靈感動祭司耶何耶大的兒子撒迦利亞，他就站在上面對民說：「　神如此說：你們為何干犯耶和華的誡命，以致不得亨通呢？因為你們離棄耶和華，所以他也離棄你們。」
Then the Spirit of God took possession of Zechari'ah the son of Jehoi'ada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said to them, "Thus says God, `Why do you transgress the commandments of the LORD, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the LORD, he has forsaken you.'"
24:21 眾民同心謀害撒迦利亞，就照王的吩咐，在耶和華殿的院內用石頭打死他。
But they conspired against him, and by command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the LORD.
24:22 這樣，約阿施王不想念撒迦利亞的父親耶何耶大向自己所施的恩，殺了他的兒子。撒迦利亞臨死的時候說：「願耶和華鑒察伸冤！」
Thus Jo'ash the king did not remember the kindness which Jehoi'ada, Zechari'ah's father, had shown him, but killed his son. And when he was dying, he said, "May the LORD see and avenge!"
24:23 滿了一年，亞蘭的軍兵上來攻擊約阿施，來到猶大和耶路撒冷，殺了民中的眾首領，將所掠的財貨送到大馬色王那裡。
At the end of the year the army of the Syrians came up against Jo'ash. They came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all their spoil to the king of Damascus.
24:24 亞蘭的軍兵雖來了一小隊，耶和華卻將大隊的軍兵交在他們手裡，是因猶大人離棄耶和華─他們列祖的　神，所以藉亞蘭人懲罰約阿施。
Though the army of the Syrians had come with few men, the LORD delivered into their hand a very great army, because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers. Thus they executed judgment on Jo'ash.
24:25 亞蘭人離開約阿施的時候，他患重病；臣僕背叛他，要報祭司耶何耶大兒子流血之仇，殺他在床上，葬他在大衛城，只是不葬在列王的墳墓裡。
When they had departed from him, leaving him severely wounded, his servants conspired against him because of the blood of the son of Jehoi'ada the priest, and slew him on his bed. So he died; and they buried him in the city of David, but they did not bury him in the tombs of the kings.
24:26 背叛他的是亞捫婦人示米押的兒子撒拔和摩押婦人示米利的兒子約薩拔。
Those who conspired against him were Zabad the son of Shim'e-ath the Ammonitess, and Jeho'zabad the son of Shimrith the Moabitess.
24:27 至於他的眾子和他所受的警戒，並他重修　神殿的事，都寫在列王的傳上。他兒子亞瑪謝接續他作王。
Accounts of his sons, and of the many oracles against him, and of the rebuilding of the house of God are written in the Commentary on the Book of the Kings. And Amazi'ah his son reigned in his stead.

經文: 歷代志下 22:10 亞哈謝的母親亞他利雅見他兒子死了，就起來剿滅猶大王室。

默想: 我們在本段經文看到在南國猶大的宮廷中，不只是約蘭王親手殺死自己六個親弟弟，好鞏固他的王位。約蘭王因腸病去世之後，他的兒子亞哈謝也受到他的母親，就是約蘭王的妻子亞他利雅的影響。亞他利雅是暗利的孫女，也是亞哈王的女兒。當亞哈謝去探望北國以色列王約蘭的戰場受傷時，不幸被耶戶抓到且殺死。王太后亞他利雅一聽見他的兒子國王亞哈謝在撒馬利亞被耶戶殺死了，竟然將亞哈謝的眾子，也就是自己的孫子，全部殺死，自己起來篡位成為女王。還好約蘭王與亞哈利雅的女兒約示巴冒生命的危險，把亞哈謝王的小兒子約阿施藏在臥房中，再外送到他的先生祭司耶何耶大所在的聖殿中六年之久。我們看到人心的險惡，與上帝恩典的保守。

題目: 亞哈謝廿二歲的時候作王，他的母親亞她利雅替亞哈謝出主意，帶他做壞事。試想:為人父母的，該給兒女怎樣的身教？ 

 

22:1 耶路撒冷的居民立約蘭的小兒子亞哈謝接續他作王；因為跟隨阿拉伯人來攻營的軍兵曾殺了亞哈謝的眾兄長。這樣，猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝作了王。
And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahazi'ah his youngest son king in his stead; for the band of men that came with the Arabs to the camp had slain all the older sons. So Ahazi'ah the son of Jeho'ram king of Judah reigned.
22:2 亞哈謝登基的時候年四十二歲【王下八26作二十二歲】，在耶路撒冷作王一年。他母親名叫亞他利雅，是暗利的孫女。
Ahazi'ah was forty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athali'ah, the granddaughter of Omri.
22:3 亞哈謝也行亞哈家的道；因為他母親給他主謀，使他行惡。
He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor in doing wickedly.
22:4 他行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，像亞哈家一樣；因他父親死後有亞哈家的人給他主謀，以致敗壞。
He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, as the house of Ahab had done; for after the death of his father they were his counselors, to his undoing.
22:5 他聽從亞哈家的計謀，同以色列王亞哈的兒子約蘭往基列的拉末去，與亞蘭王哈薛爭戰；亞蘭人打傷了約蘭。
He even followed their counsel, and went with Jeho'ram the son of Ahab king of Israel to make war against Haz'ael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead. And the Syrians wounded Joram,
22:6 約蘭回到耶斯列，醫治在拉末與亞蘭王哈薛打仗所受的傷，猶大王約蘭的兒子亞撒利雅【即亞哈謝】因為亞哈的兒子約蘭病了，就下到耶斯列看望他。
and he returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which he had received at Ramah, when he fought against Haz'ael king of Syria. And Ahazi'ah the son of Jeho'ram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
22:7 亞哈謝去見約蘭就被害了，這是出乎　神；因為他到了，就同約蘭出去攻擊寧示的孫子耶戶。這耶戶是耶和華所膏、使他剪除亞哈家的。
But it was ordained by God that the downfall of Ahazi'ah should come about through his going to visit Joram. For when he came there he went out with Jeho'ram to meet Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.
22:8 耶戶討亞哈家罪的時候，遇見猶大的眾首領和亞哈謝的眾姪子服事亞哈謝，就把他們都殺了。
And when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, he met the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahazi'ah's brothers, who attended Ahazi'ah, and he killed them.
22:9 亞哈謝藏在撒馬利亞，耶戶尋找他，眾人將他拿住，送到耶戶那裡，就殺了他，將他葬埋；因他們說，他是那盡心尋求耶和華之約沙法的兒子。這樣，亞哈謝的家無力保守國權。
He searched for Ahazi'ah, and he was captured while hiding in Sama'ria, and he was brought to Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, "He is the grandson of Jehosh'aphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart." And the house of Ahazi'ah had no one able to rule the kingdom.
22:10 亞哈謝的母親亞她利雅見她兒子死了，就起來剿滅猶大王室。
Now when Athali'ah the mother of Ahazi'ah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal family of the house of Judah.
22:11 但王的女兒約示巴將亞哈謝的兒子約阿施從那被殺的王子中偷出來，把他和他的乳母都藏在臥房裡。約示巴是約蘭王的女兒，亞哈謝的妹子，祭司耶何耶大的妻。她收藏約阿施，躲避亞她利雅，免得被殺。
But Jeho-shab'e-ath, the daughter of the king, took Jo'ash the son of Ahazi'ah, and stole him away from among the king's sons who were about to be slain, and she put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. Thus Jeho-shab'e-ath, the daughter of King Jeho'ram and wife of Jehoi'ada the priest, because she was a sister of Ahazi'ah, hid him from Athali'ah, so that she did not slay him;
22:12 約阿施和她們一同藏在　神殿裡六年；亞她利雅篡了國位。
and he remained with them six years, hid in the house of God, while Athali'ah reigned over the land.

默想: 這段經文讓我們看到宮廷內殘酷的一面。約蘭是約沙法王的長子，因此，約沙法王在去世之前，就將國位傳給長子約蘭，另外將許多金銀財寶與堅固城邑賜給約蘭的六個弟弟。那裡知道，約沙法王一去世，長子約蘭登基做猶大國王後的第一件事，竟然是親手將自己的六個親弟弟以及一些以色列人領袖全部殺死。約蘭王用這種殘酷的方法來鞏固他的王位。他又娶了亞哈的女兒為妻，因此，他沒有效法他的父親約沙法所留下來的美好榜樣，專一尋求敬拜耶和華，而是受到妻子亞哈王的女兒的影響，去行耶和華眼中看為惡的事。求主幫助我，讓我與妻子能夠互相鼓勵，更加愛主與專一信靠主。

題目: 以利亞寫信給猶大王約蘭說:「你沒有效法你父親約沙法的好榜樣;反而仿效以色列諸王的壞榜樣。」(v12-13)試想:前人走過的道路……你會效法何種腳蹤？ 

 

21:1 約沙法與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城他列祖的墳地裡。他兒子約蘭接續他作王。
Jehosh'aphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Jeho'ram his son reigned in his stead.
21:2 約蘭有幾個兄弟，就是約沙法的兒子亞撒利雅、耶歇、撒迦利雅、亞撒利雅、米迦勒、示法提雅。這都是猶大王約沙法的兒子。
He had brothers, the sons of Jehosh'aphat: Azari'ah, Jehi'el, Zechari'ah, Azari'ah, Michael, and Shephati'ah; all these were the sons of Jehosh'aphat king of Judah.
21:3 他們的父親將許多金銀、財寶，和猶大地的堅固城賜給他們；但將國賜給約蘭，因為他是長子。
Their father gave them great gifts, of silver, gold, and valuable possessions, together with fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jeho'ram, because he was the first-born.
21:4 約蘭興起坐他父的位，奮勇自強，就用刀殺了他的眾兄弟和以色列的幾個首領。
When Jeho'ram had ascended the throne of his father and was established, he slew all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the princes of Israel.
21:5 約蘭登基的時候年三十二歲，在耶路撒冷作王八年。
Jeho'ram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
21:6 他行以色列諸王的道，與亞哈家一樣；因他娶了亞哈的女兒為妻，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事。
And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done; for the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD.
21:7 耶和華卻因自己與大衛所立的約，不肯滅大衛的家，照他所應許的，永遠賜燈光與大衛和他的子孫。
Yet the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant which he had made with David, and since he had promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons for ever.
21:8 約蘭年間，以東人背叛猶大，脫離他的權下，自己立王。
In his days Edom revolted from the rule of Judah, and set up a king of their own.
21:9 約蘭就率領軍長和所有的戰車，夜間起來，攻擊圍困他的以東人和車兵長。
Then Jeho'ram passed over with his commanders and all his chariots, and he rose by night and smote the E'domites who had surrounded him and his chariot commanders.
21:10 這樣，以東人背叛猶大，脫離他的權下，直到今日。那時，立拿人也背叛了，因為約蘭離棄耶和華─他列祖的　神。
So Edom revolted from the rule of Judah to this day. At that time Libnah also revolted from his rule, because he had forsaken the LORD, the God of his fathers.
21:11 他又在猶大諸山建築邱壇，使耶路撒冷的居民行邪淫，誘惑猶大人。
Moreover he made high places in the hill country of Judah, and led the inhabitants of Jerusalem into unfaithfulness, and made Judah go astray.
21:12 先知以利亞達信與約蘭說：「耶和華─你祖大衛的　神如此說：『因為你不行你父約沙法和猶大王亞撒的道，
And a letter came to him from Eli'jah the prophet, saying, "Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father, `Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehosh'aphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
21:13 乃行以色列諸王的道，使猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民行邪淫，像亞哈家一樣，又殺了你父家比你好的諸兄弟。
but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have led Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem into unfaithfulness, as the house of Ahab led Israel into unfaithfulness, and also you have killed your brothers, of your father's house, who were better than yourself;
21:14 故此，耶和華降大災與你的百姓和你的妻子、兒女，並你一切所有的。
behold, the LORD will bring a great plague on your people, your children, your wives, and all your possessions,
21:15 你的腸子必患病，日加沉重，以致你的腸子墜落下來。』」
and you yourself will have a severe sickness with a disease of your bowels, until your bowels come out because of the disease, day by day.'"
21:16 以後，耶和華激動非利士人和靠近古實的阿拉伯人來攻擊約蘭。
And the LORD stirred up against Jeho'ram the anger of the Philistines and of the Arabs who are near the Ethiopians;
21:17 他們上來攻擊猶大，侵入境內，擄掠了王宮裡所有的財貨和他的妻子、兒女，除了他小兒子約哈斯【又名亞哈謝】之外，沒有留下一個兒子。
and they came up against Judah, and invaded it, and carried away all the possessions they found that belonged to the king's house, and also his sons and his wives, so that no son was left to him except Jeho'ahaz, his youngest son.
21:18 這些事以後，耶和華使約蘭的腸子患不能醫治的病。
And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease.
21:19 他患此病纏綿日久，過了二年，腸子墜落下來，病重而死。他的民沒有為他燒甚麼物件，像從前為他列祖所燒的一樣。
In course of time, at the end of two years, his bowels came out because of the disease, and he died in great agony. His people made no fire in his honor, like the fires made for his fathers.
21:20 約蘭登基的時候年三十二歲，在耶路撒冷作王八年。他去世無人思慕，眾人葬他在大衛城，只是不在列王的墳墓裡。
He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem; and he departed with no one's regret. They buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
