經文: 歷代志下 24:20-22 那時，神的靈感動祭司耶何耶大的兒子撒迦利亞，他就站在上面對民說：「神如此說：你們為何干犯耶和華的誡命，以致不得亨通呢？因為你們離棄耶和華，所以他也離棄你們。」眾民同心謀害撒迦利亞，就照王的吩咐，在耶和華殿的院內用石頭打死他。這樣，約阿施王不想念撒迦利亞的父親耶何耶大向自己所施的恩，殺了他的兒子。撒迦利亞臨死的時候說：「願耶和華鑒察伸冤！」
默想: 這是一個悲慘的故事。約阿施王是在一歲時，父親亞哈謝前往北國以色列探望亞哈的兒子約蘭王，卻被耶戶所殺死。約阿施的祖母雅他利亞屠殺他自己的家族，篡位為女王。祭司耶何耶大與妻子約示巴冒生命危險把一歲的約阿施搶救出來，留一條活命，並冒生命危險將約阿施藏在聖殿中，逃避女王雅他利亞的追殺。在約阿施七歲時，又冒險與利未人以及個族長串連，發動革命，將雅他利亞女王處死，扶持約阿施登基為王。耶何耶大就像約阿施的養父一樣，將約阿施扶養長大，又把摩西的律法書拿來教導他，還為他取了兩個妻子。那裡知道，在耶何耶大年老去世之後，約阿施就離棄耶何耶大的教導，不再敬拜侍奉耶和華，轉而去敬拜偶像亞舍拉。耶何耶大的兒子撒迦利亞受到耶和華聖靈的感動，前往規勸約阿施王，沒有想到約阿施王不僅不聽他的規勸，還命令手下在耶和華聖殿院內，用石頭把撒迦利亞打死了。我想耶何耶大如果知道有這樣的下場，當年就不應該將襁褓中的約阿施搶救出來了。
題目: 耶何耶大去世，約阿施即離棄了上主，耶何耶大可稱是約阿施的屬靈導師。試想屬靈的長輩存在與否,會影響你跟隨上主嗎?
24:1 約阿施登基的時候年七歲，在耶路撒冷作王四十年。他母親名叫西比亞，是別是巴人。
Jo'ash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem; his mother's name was Zib'iah of Beer-sheba.
24:2 祭司耶何耶大在世的時候，約阿施行耶和華眼中看為正的事。
And Jo'ash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days of Jehoi'ada the priest.
24:3 耶何耶大為他娶了兩個妻，並且生兒養女。
Jehoi'ada got for him two wives, and he had sons and daughters.
24:4 此後，約阿施有意重修耶和華的殿，
After this Jo'ash decided to restore the house of the LORD.
24:5 便召聚眾祭司和利未人，吩咐他們說：「你們要往猶大各城去，使以色列眾人捐納銀子，每年可以修理你們 神的殿；你們要急速辦理這事。」只是利未人不急速辦理。
And he gathered the priests and the Levites, and said to them, "Go out to the cities of Judah, and gather from all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year; and see that you hasten the matter." But the Levites did not hasten it.
24:6 王召了大祭司耶何耶大來，對他說：「從前耶和華的僕人摩西，為法櫃的帳幕與以色列會眾所定的捐項，你為何不叫利未人照這例從猶大和耶路撒冷帶來作殿的費用呢？」
So the king summoned Jehoi'ada the chief, and said to him, "Why have you not required the Levites to bring in from Judah and Jerusalem the tax levied by Moses, the servant of the LORD, on the congregation of Israel for the tent of testimony?"
24:7 〈因為那惡婦亞她利雅的眾子曾拆毀 神的殿，又用耶和華殿中分別為聖的物供奉巴力。〉
For the sons of Athali'ah, that wicked woman, had broken into the house of God; and had also used all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD for the Ba'als.
24:8 於是王下令，眾人做了一櫃，放在耶和華殿的門外，
So the king commanded, and they made a chest, and set it outside the gate of the house of the LORD.
24:9 又通告猶大和耶路撒冷的百姓，要將 神僕人摩西在曠野所吩咐以色列人的捐項給耶和華送來。
And proclamation was made throughout Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in for the LORD the tax that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.
24:10 眾首領和百姓都歡歡喜喜地將銀子送來，投入櫃中，直到捐完。
And all the princes and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished.
24:11 利未人見銀子多了，就把櫃抬到王所派的司事面前；王的書記和大祭司的屬員來將櫃倒空，仍放在原處。日日都是這樣，積蓄的銀子甚多。
And whenever the chest was brought to the king's officers by the Levites, when they saw that there was much money in it, the king's secretary and the officer of the chief priest would come and empty the chest and take it and return it to its place. Thus they did day after day, and collected money in abundance.
24:12 王與耶何耶大將銀子交給耶和華殿裡辦事的人，他們就雇了石匠、木匠重修耶和華的殿，又雇了鐵匠、銅匠修理耶和華的殿。
And the king and Jehoi'ada gave it to those who had charge of the work of the house of the LORD, and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of the LORD, and also workers in iron and bronze to repair the house of the LORD.
24:13 工人操作，漸漸修成，將 神殿修造得與從前一樣，而且甚是堅固。
So those who were engaged in the work labored, and the repairing went forward in their hands, and they restored the house of God to its proper condition and strengthened it.
24:14 工程完了，他們就把其餘的銀子拿到王與耶何耶大面前，用以製造耶和華殿供奉所用的器皿和調羹，並金銀的器皿。耶何耶大在世的時候，眾人常在耶和華殿裡獻燔祭。
And when they had finished, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoi'ada, and with it were made utensils for the house of the LORD, both for the service and for the burnt offerings, and dishes for incense, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the LORD continually all the days of Jehoi'ada.
24:15 耶何耶大年紀老邁，日子滿足而死。死的時候年一百三十歲，
But Jehoi'ada grew old and full of days, and died; he was a hundred and thirty years old at his death.
24:16 葬在大衛城列王的墳墓裡；因為他在以色列人中行善，又事奉 神，修理 神的殿。
And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, and toward God and his house.
24:17 耶何耶大死後，猶大的眾首領來朝拜王；王就聽從他們。
Now after the death of Jehoi'ada the princes of Judah came and did obeisance to the king; then the king hearkened to them.
24:18 他們離棄耶和華─他們列祖 神的殿，去事奉亞舍拉和偶像；因他們這罪，就有忿怒臨到猶大和耶路撒冷。
And they forsook the house of the LORD, the God of their fathers, and served the Ashe'rim and the idols. And wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their guilt.
24:19 但 神仍遣先知到他們那裡，引導他們歸向耶和華。這先知警戒他們，他們卻不肯聽。
Yet he sent prophets among them to bring them back to the LORD; these testified against them, but they would not give heed.
24:20 那時， 神的靈感動祭司耶何耶大的兒子撒迦利亞，他就站在上面對民說：「 神如此說：你們為何干犯耶和華的誡命，以致不得亨通呢？因為你們離棄耶和華，所以他也離棄你們。」
Then the Spirit of God took possession of Zechari'ah the son of Jehoi'ada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said to them, "Thus says God, `Why do you transgress the commandments of the LORD, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the LORD, he has forsaken you.'"
24:21 眾民同心謀害撒迦利亞，就照王的吩咐，在耶和華殿的院內用石頭打死他。
But they conspired against him, and by command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the LORD.
24:22 這樣，約阿施王不想念撒迦利亞的父親耶何耶大向自己所施的恩，殺了他的兒子。撒迦利亞臨死的時候說：「願耶和華鑒察伸冤！」
Thus Jo'ash the king did not remember the kindness which Jehoi'ada, Zechari'ah's father, had shown him, but killed his son. And when he was dying, he said, "May the LORD see and avenge!"
24:23 滿了一年，亞蘭的軍兵上來攻擊約阿施，來到猶大和耶路撒冷，殺了民中的眾首領，將所掠的財貨送到大馬色王那裡。
At the end of the year the army of the Syrians came up against Jo'ash. They came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all their spoil to the king of Damascus.
24:24 亞蘭的軍兵雖來了一小隊，耶和華卻將大隊的軍兵交在他們手裡，是因猶大人離棄耶和華─他們列祖的 神，所以藉亞蘭人懲罰約阿施。
Though the army of the Syrians had come with few men, the LORD delivered into their hand a very great army, because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers. Thus they executed judgment on Jo'ash.
24:25 亞蘭人離開約阿施的時候，他患重病；臣僕背叛他，要報祭司耶何耶大兒子流血之仇，殺他在床上，葬他在大衛城，只是不葬在列王的墳墓裡。
When they had departed from him, leaving him severely wounded, his servants conspired against him because of the blood of the son of Jehoi'ada the priest, and slew him on his bed. So he died; and they buried him in the city of David, but they did not bury him in the tombs of the kings.
24:26 背叛他的是亞捫婦人示米押的兒子撒拔和摩押婦人示米利的兒子約薩拔。
Those who conspired against him were Zabad the son of Shim'e-ath the Ammonitess, and Jeho'zabad the son of Shimrith the Moabitess.
24:27 至於他的眾子和他所受的警戒，並他重修 神殿的事，都寫在列王的傳上。他兒子亞瑪謝接續他作王。
Accounts of his sons, and of the many oracles against him, and of the rebuilding of the house of God are written in the Commentary on the Book of the Kings. And Amazi'ah his son reigned in his stead.
