經文: 歷代志下 20:17-19 猶大和耶路撒冷人哪，這次你們不要爭戰，要擺陣站著，看耶和華為你們施行拯救。不要恐懼，也不要驚惶。明日當出去迎敵，因為耶和華與你們同在。約沙法就面伏於地，猶大眾人和耶路撒冷的居民也俯伏在耶和華面前，叩拜耶和華。哥轄族和可拉族的利未人都起來，用極大的聲音讚美耶和華以色列的神。
默想: 上次是約沙法王與亞哈王聯軍，去攻擊亞蘭王，結果是以色列王亞哈聰明變裝，卻被一隻隨意開弓的亂箭射中而喪命沙場。約沙法王則是被敵軍包圍時，緊急呼喊神，而蒙神施恩解圍，得以安然回到耶路撒冷。這一次則是有摩押、亞捫、與以東人三國聯軍，前來圍攻猶大國。約沙法王很懼怕，擔心猶大國軍隊無法抵抗這強大的三國聯軍，定意尋求耶和華，全國宣告禁食禱告。結果是耶和華經由利未人雅哈悉，向約沙法王宣告，耶和華已經垂聽他們的禱告。耶和華要猶大軍隊前去迎敵擺陣，但是卻不必親自爭戰，因為耶和華將為他們爭戰。約沙法王立刻以信心接受耶和華如此的應許。約沙法王帶領猶大人叩拜稱謝耶和華，哥轄族與可拉族的利未人甚至大聲讚美耶和華。這是很美的信心。親愛的主啊！求你也幫助我，能夠對你有如此美的信心。
題目: 約沙法《哭賴》(台語)上帝，耶和華即回應他的哀求。試想:當你遇到苦難時，你如何尋求幫助？
20:1 此後，摩押人和亞捫人，又有米烏尼人，一同來攻擊約沙法。
After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Me-u'nites, came against Jehosh'aphat for battle.
20:2 有人來報告約沙法說：「從海外亞蘭【又作以東】那邊有大軍來攻擊你，如今他們在哈洗遜•他瑪，就是隱•基底。」
Some men came and told Jehosh'aphat, "A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Haz'azon-ta'mar" (that is, En-ge'di).
20:3 約沙法便懼怕，定意尋求耶和華，在猶大全地宣告禁食。
Then Jehosh'aphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
20:4 於是猶大人聚會，求耶和華幫助。猶大各城都有人出來尋求耶和華。
And Judah assembled to seek help from the LORD; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
20:5 約沙法就在猶大和耶路撒冷的會中，站在耶和華殿的新院前，
And Jehosh'aphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
20:6 說：「耶和華─我們列祖的 神啊，你不是天上的 神嗎？你不是萬邦萬國的主宰嗎？在你手中有大能大力，無人能抵擋你。
and said, "O LORD, God of our fathers, art thou not God in heaven? Dost thou not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? In thy hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee.
20:7 我們的 神啊，你不是曾在你民以色列人面前驅逐這地的居民，將這地賜給你朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔永遠為業嗎？
Didst thou not, O our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and give it for ever to the descendants of Abraham thy friend?
20:8 他們住在這地，又為你的名建造聖所，說：
And they have dwelt in it, and have built thee in it a sanctuary for thy name, saying,
20:9 『倘有禍患臨到我們，或刀兵災殃，或瘟疫饑荒，我們在急難的時候，站在這殿前向你呼求，你必垂聽而拯救，因為你的名在這殿裡。』
`If evil comes upon us, the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house, and before thee, for thy name is in this house, and cry to thee in our affliction, and thou wilt hear and save.'
20:10 從前以色列人出埃及地的時候，你不容以色列人侵犯亞捫人、摩押人，和西珥山人，以色列人就離開他們，不滅絕他們。
And now behold, the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Se'ir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade when they came from the land of Egypt, and whom they avoided and did not destroy --
20:11 看哪，他們怎樣報復我們，要來驅逐我們出離你的地，就是你賜給我們為業之地。
behold, they reward us by coming to drive us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
20:12 我們的 神啊，你不懲罰他們嗎？因為我們無力抵擋這來攻擊我們的大軍，我們也不知道怎樣行，我們的眼目單仰望你。」
O our God, wilt thou not execute judgment upon them? For we are powerless against this great multitude that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon thee."
20:13 猶大眾人和他們的嬰孩、妻子、兒女都站在耶和華面前。
Meanwhile all the men of Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
20:14 那時，耶和華的靈在會中臨到利未人亞薩的後裔─瑪探雅的玄孫，耶利的曾孫，比拿雅的孫子，撒迦利雅的兒子雅哈悉。
And the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jaha'ziel the son of Zechari'ah, son of Benai'ah, son of Je-i'el, son of Mattani'ah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly.
20:15 他說：「猶大眾人、耶路撒冷的居民，和約沙法王，你們請聽。耶和華對你們如此說：『不要因這大軍恐懼驚惶；因為勝敗不在乎你們，乃在乎 神。
And he said, "Hearken, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehosh'aphat: Thus says the LORD to you, `Fear not, and be not dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours but God's.
20:16 明日你們要下去迎敵，他們是從洗斯坡上來，你們必在耶魯伊勒曠野前的谷口遇見他們。
Tomorrow go down against them; behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz; you will find them at the end of the valley, east of the wilderness of Jeru'el.
20:17 猶大和耶路撒冷人哪，這次你們不要爭戰，要擺陣站著，看耶和華為你們施行拯救。不要恐懼，也不要驚惶。明日當出去迎敵，因為耶和華與你們同在。』」
You will not need to fight in this battle; take your position, stand still, and see the victory of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Fear not, and be not dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, and the LORD will be with you."
20:18 約沙法就面伏於地，猶大眾人和耶路撒冷的居民也俯伏在耶和華面前，叩拜耶和華。
Then Jehosh'aphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the LORD, worshiping the LORD.
20:19 哥轄族和可拉族的利未人都起來，用極大的聲音讚美耶和華以色列的 神。
And the Levites, of the Ko'hathites and the Kor'ahites, stood up to praise the LORD, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.
20:20 次日清早，眾人起來往提哥亞的曠野去。出去的時候，約沙法站著說：「猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪，要聽我說：信耶和華─你們的 神就必立穩；信他的先知就必亨通。」
And they rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Teko'a; and as they went out, Jehosh'aphat stood and said, "Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed."
20:21 約沙法既與民商議了，就設立歌唱的人，頌讚耶和華，使他們穿上聖潔的禮服，走在軍前讚美耶和華說：「當稱謝耶和華，因他的慈愛永遠長存！」
And when he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to the LORD and praise him in holy array, as they went before the army, and say, "Give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures for ever."
20:22 眾人方唱歌讚美的時候，耶和華就派伏兵擊殺那來攻擊猶大人的亞捫人、摩押人，和西珥山人，他們就被打敗了。
And when they began to sing and praise, the LORD set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Se'ir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed.
20:23 因為亞捫人和摩押人起來，擊殺住西珥山的人，將他們滅盡；滅盡住西珥山的人之後，他們又彼此自相擊殺。
For the men of Ammon and Moab rose against the inhabitants of Mount Se'ir, destroying them utterly, and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Se'ir, they all helped to destroy one another.
20:24 猶大人來到曠野的望樓，向那大軍觀看，見屍橫遍地，沒有一個逃脫的。
When Judah came to the watchtower of the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and behold, they were dead bodies lying on the ground; none had escaped.
20:25 約沙法和他的百姓就來收取敵人的財物，在屍首中見了許多財物、珍寶，他們剝脫下來的多得不可攜帶；因為甚多，直收取了三日。
When Jehosh'aphat and his people came to take the spoil from them, they found cattle in great numbers, goods, clothing, and precious things, which they took for themselves until they could carry no more. They were three days in taking the spoil, it was so much.
20:26 第四日眾人聚集在比拉迦谷【就是稱頌的意思】，在那裡稱頌耶和華。因此那地方名叫比拉迦谷，直到今日。
On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Bera'cah, for there they blessed the LORD; therefore the name of that place has been called the Valley of Bera'cah to this day.
20:27 猶大人和耶路撒冷人都歡歡喜喜地回耶路撒冷，約沙法率領他們；因為耶和華使他們戰勝仇敵，就歡喜快樂。
Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehosh'aphat at their head, returning to Jerusalem with joy, for the LORD had made them rejoice over their enemies.
20:28 他們彈琴、鼓瑟、吹號來到耶路撒冷，進了耶和華的殿。
They came to Jerusalem, with harps and lyres and trumpets, to the house of the LORD.
20:29 列邦諸國聽見耶和華戰敗以色列的仇敵，就甚懼怕。
And the fear of God came on all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard that the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.
20:30 這樣，約沙法的國得享太平，因為 神賜他四境平安。
So the realm of Jehosh'aphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest round about.
20:31 約沙法作猶大王，登基的時候年三十五歲，在耶路撒冷作王二十五年。他母親名叫阿蘇巴，乃示利希的女兒。
Thus Jehosh'aphat reigned over Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azu'bah the daughter of Shilhi.
20:32 約沙法效法他父亞撒所行的，不偏左右，行耶和華眼中看為正的事。
He walked in the way of Asa his father and did not turn aside from it; he did what was right in the sight of the LORD.
20:33 只是邱壇還沒有廢去，百姓也沒有立定心意歸向他們列祖的 神。
The high places, however, were not taken away; the people had not yet set their hearts upon the God of their fathers.
20:34 約沙法其餘的事，自始至終都寫在哈拿尼的兒子耶戶的書上，也載入以色列諸王記上。
Now the rest of the acts of Jehosh'aphat, from first to last, are written in the chronicles of Jehu the son of Hana'ni, which are recorded in the Book of the Kings of Israel.
20:35 此後，猶大王約沙法與以色列王亞哈謝交好；亞哈謝行惡太甚。
After this Jehosh'aphat king of Judah joined with Ahazi'ah king of Israel, who did wickedly.
20:36 二王合夥造船要往他施去，遂在以旬•迦別造船。
He joined him in building ships to go to Tarshish, and they built the ships in E'zion-ge'ber.
20:37 那時瑪利沙人、多大瓦的兒子以利以謝向約沙法預言說：「因你與亞哈謝交好，耶和華必破壞你所造的。」後來那船果然破壞，不能往他施去了。
Then Elie'zer the son of Do-dav'ahu of Mare'shah prophesied against Jehosh'aphat, saying, "Because you have joined with Ahazi'ah, the LORD will destroy what you have made." And the ships were wrecked and were not able to go to Tarshish.
