20:7 行為純正的義人，他的子孫是有福的！
20:8 王坐在審判的位上，以眼目驅散諸惡。
20:9 誰能說，我潔淨了我的心，我脫淨了我的罪？
20:10 兩樣的法碼，兩樣的升斗，都為耶和華所憎惡。
20:11 孩童的動作是清潔，是正直，都顯明他的本性。
20:12 能聽的耳，能看的眼，都是耶和華所造的。
20:13 不要貪睡，免致貧窮；眼要睜開，你就吃飽。
20:14 買物的說：不好，不好；及至買去，他便自誇。
20:15 有金子和許多珍珠（或譯：紅寶石），惟有知識的嘴乃為貴重的珍寶。
箴言的作者提到，「孩童的動作是清潔，是正直，都顯明他的本性。」但是，詩篇五十一5卻說「我是在罪孽�生的，在我母親懷胎的時候就有了罪。」到底孩子的本性是正直、清潔呢？還是充滿罪性呢？
從基督教的觀點來說，我們每個人都是帶著罪性出生的，每個人也都需要耶穌的救恩，不論是孩童或是成人。罪性並不是學習得來的，而是在我們每一個的生命中原本就存在的。孩童的純真，不代表他們沒有罪性，相反的，他們是因為「缺乏能力」而非沒有罪性。人們讚美孩童的純真，但是，也不得不承認，在成人的世界中，卻無法保持這樣的純真。事實上對我們絕大多數的人而言，沒有人教我們如何犯罪。我們的教育，不論家庭、或學校，都希望我們能夠擁有好品格。但是，我們不得不承認，學校、家庭沒有教的事，成人卻默默地會了。所以我們要提醒自己，純真不代表我們沒有罪性，每一個人都需要救恩，都需要在上帝的恩典中。(如同小兒洗禮是一種恩典)
題目: 箴言20:11提及孩童的本性，這與詩篇51:5的看法有何差異呢？
20:1 酒能使人褻慢，濃酒使人喧嚷；凡因酒錯誤的，就無智慧。
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
20:2 王的威嚇如同獅子吼叫；惹動他怒的，是自害己命。
The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
20:3 遠離紛爭是人的尊榮；愚妄人都愛爭鬧。
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
20:4 懶惰人因冬寒不肯耕種，到收割的時候，他必討飯而無所得。
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing. cold: or, winter
20:5 人心懷藏謀略，好像深水，惟明哲人才能汲引出來。
Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
20:6 人多述說自己的仁慈，但忠信人誰能遇著呢？
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? goodness: or, bounty
20:7 行為純正的義人，他的子孫是有福的！
The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
20:8 王坐在審判的位上，以眼目驅散諸惡。
A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
20:9 誰能說，我潔淨了我的心，我脫淨了我的罪？
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
20:10 兩樣的法碼，兩樣的升斗，都為耶和華所憎惡。
Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD. Divers weights: Heb. A stone and a stone divers measures: Heb. an ephah and an ephah
20:11 孩童的動作是清潔，是正直，都顯明他的本性。
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
20:12 能聽的耳，能看的眼，都是耶和華所造的。
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
20:13 不要貪睡，免致貧窮；眼要睜開，你就吃飽。
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
20:14 買物的說：不好，不好；及至買去，他便自誇。
It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
20:15 有金子和許多珍珠（或譯：紅寶石），惟有知識的嘴乃為貴重的珍寶。
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
20:16 誰為生人作保，就拿誰的衣服；誰為外人作保，誰就要承當。
Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
20:17 以虛謊而得的食物，人覺甘甜；但後來，他的口必充滿塵沙。
Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel. deceit: Heb. lying, or, falsehood
20:18 計謀都憑籌算立定；打仗要憑智謀。
Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
20:19 往來傳舌的，洩漏密事；大張嘴的，不可與他結交。
He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. flattereth: or, enticeth
20:20 咒罵父母的，他的燈必滅，變為漆黑的黑暗。
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. lamp: or, candle
20:21 起初速得的產業，終久卻不為福。
An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
20:22 你不要說，我要以惡報惡；要等候耶和華，他必拯救你。
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
20:23 兩樣的法碼為耶和華所憎惡；詭詐的天平也為不善。
Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good. a false...: Heb. balance of deceit
20:24 人的腳步為耶和華所定；人豈能明白自己的路呢？
Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
20:25 人冒失說，這是聖物，許願之後才查問，就是自陷網羅。
It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
20:26 智慧的王簸散惡人，用碌碡滾軋他們。
A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
20:27 人的靈是耶和華的燈，鑒察人的心腹。
The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. candle: or, lamp
20:28 王因仁慈和誠實得以保全他的國位，也因仁慈立穩。
Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
20:29 強壯乃少年人的榮耀；白髮為老年人的尊榮。
The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.
20:30 鞭傷除淨人的罪惡；責打能入人的心腹。
The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly. cleanseth...: Heb. is a purging medicine against
