19:13 愚昧的兒子是父親的禍患；妻子的爭吵如雨連連滴漏。
19:14 房屋錢財是祖宗所遺留的；惟有賢慧的妻是耶和華所賜的。
19:15 懶惰使人沉睡；懈怠的人必受飢餓。
19:16 謹守誡命的，保全生命；輕忽己路的，必致死亡。
19:17 憐憫貧窮的，就是借給耶和華；他的善行，耶和華必償還。
19:18 趁有指望，管教你的兒子；你的心不可任他死亡。
19:19 暴怒的人必受刑罰；你若救他，必須再救。
19:20 你要聽勸教，受訓誨，使你終久有智慧。
默想: 聖經一直認為管教子女是家長重要的責任，因為教養子女，對他們一生影響重大。若身為家長沒有在孩子年幼時，好好教養子女，將來，子女的必然走入歧途，而失去任何的盼望。
一個父親若不好好管教自己的子女，就是放任子女死亡。(18)箴言的作者就是這如此嚴重的語話來警告我們。我們的子女，在年幼的時候，就好像是一棵樹苗，有很高的可塑性，若在它生長時發生傾斜不正能夠及時給予校正，它就會正確的往上生長。若放任它去，就可能因此長歪，而終致無法更正。所以為人父母的，實在不可不慎。
題目: 本章經文對於親子關係，有那些教導呢？
19:1 行為純正的貧窮人勝過乖謬愚妄的富足人。
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
19:2 心無知識的，乃為不善；腳步急快的，難免犯罪。
Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
19:3 人的愚昧傾敗他的道；他的心也抱怨耶和華。
The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
19:4 財物使朋友增多；但窮人朋友遠離。
Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
19:5 作假見證的，必不免受罰；吐出謊言的，終不能逃脫。
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. unpunished: Heb. held innocent
19:6 好施散的，有多人求他的恩情；愛送禮的，人都為他的朋友。
Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts. him...: Heb. a man of gifts
19:7 貧窮人，弟兄都恨他；何況他的朋友，更遠離他！他用言語追隨，他們卻走了。
All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him .
19:8 得著智慧的，愛惜生命；保守聰明的，必得好處。
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good. wisdom: Heb. an heart
19:9 作假見證的，不免受罰；吐出謊言的，也必滅亡。
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
19:10 愚昧人宴樂度日是不合宜的；何況僕人管轄王子呢？
Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
19:11 人有見識就不輕易發怒；寬恕人的過失便是自己的榮耀。
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression. discretion: or, prudence
19:12 王的忿怒好像獅子吼叫；他的恩典卻如草上的甘露。
The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
19:13 愚昧的兒子是父親的禍患；妻子的爭吵如雨連連滴漏。
A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
19:14 房屋錢財是祖宗所遺留的；惟有賢慧的妻是耶和華所賜的。
House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
19:15 懶惰使人沉睡；懈怠的人必受飢餓。
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
19:16 謹守誡命的，保全生命；輕忽己路的，必致死亡。
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
19:17 憐憫貧窮的，就是借給耶和華；他的善行，耶和華必償還。
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. that which...: or, his deed
19:18 趁有指望，管教你的兒子；你的心不可任他死亡。
Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. for...: or, to his destruction: or, to cause him to die
19:19 暴怒的人必受刑罰；你若救他，必須再救。
A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him , yet thou must do it again. do: Heb. add
19:20 你要聽勸教，受訓誨，使你終久有智慧。
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
19:21 人心多有計謀；惟有耶和華的籌算才能立定。
There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
19:22 施行仁慈的，令人愛慕；窮人強如說謊言的。
The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
19:23 敬畏耶和華的，得著生命；他必恆久知足，不遭禍患。
The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
19:24 懶惰人放手在盤子裡，就是向口撤回，他也不肯。
A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
19:25 鞭打褻慢人，愚蒙人必長見識；責備明哲人，他就明白知識。
Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge. will beware: Heb. will be cunning
19:26 虐待父親、攆出母親的，是貽羞致辱之子。
He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
19:27 我兒，不可聽了教訓而又偏離知識的言語。
Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
19:28 匪徒作見證戲笑公平；惡人的口吞下罪孽。
An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity. An...: Heb. A witness of Belial
19:29 刑罰是為褻慢人預備的；鞭打是為愚昧人的背預備的。
Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
