24:17 你仇敵跌倒，你不要歡喜；他傾倒，你心不要快樂；
24:18 恐怕耶和華看見就不喜悅，將怒氣從仇敵身上轉過來。
24:19 不要為作惡的心懷不平，也不要嫉妒惡人；
24:20 因為，惡人終不得善報；惡人的燈也必熄滅。
24:21 我兒，你要敬畏耶和華與君王，不要與反覆無常的人結交，
24:22 因為他們的災難必忽然而起。耶和華與君王所施行的毀滅，誰能知道呢？
默想: 看到惡人作人，我們的心中會憤恨不平，這是我們的本性。我們對這個世上不公不義的事，會覺得看不慣是正常的。但是箴言卻要我們「不要為作惡的心懷不平，也不要嫉惡人。」為什麼呢？可能有幾個原因：一個是我們可能會「以惡報惡」。為了制止那些惡人，所以我們也會使用一些惡人的手段。其次當我們越覺得不平，我們就越可能懷疑上帝的公義、攝理。上帝怎麼會讓這種人繼續猖狂、得意？我們越不平，就越對上帝不滿。第三個原因是，我們相信，「惡人終不得善報，惡人的燈也必熄滅」惡人也許得勢，但是在永生上帝面前，惡人終究站立不住。 如果我們知道惡人最終的結局，我們便不會為他們心懷不平，也不會為此埋怨上帝。
題目: 本章經文教導我們要如何與惡人相處呢？
24:1 你不要嫉妒惡人，也不要起意與他們相處；
Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
24:2 因為，他們的心圖謀強暴，他們的口談論奸惡。
For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
24:3 房屋因智慧建造，又因聰明立穩；
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
24:4 其中因知識充滿各樣美好寶貴的財物。
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
24:5 智慧人大有能力；有知識的人力上加力。
A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. is strong: Heb. is in strength increaseth...: Heb. strengtheneth might
24:6 你去打仗，要憑智謀；謀士眾多，人便得勝。
For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
24:7 智慧極高，非愚昧人所能及，所以在城門內不敢開口。
Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
24:8 設計作惡的，必稱為奸人。
He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
24:9 愚妄人的思念乃是罪惡；褻慢者為人所憎惡。
The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
24:10 你在患難之日若膽怯，你的力量就微小。
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. small: Heb. narrow
24:11 人被拉到死地，你要解救；人將被殺，你須攔阻。
If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
24:12 你若說：這事我未曾知道，那衡量人心的豈不明白嗎？保守你命的豈不知道嗎？他豈不按各人所行的報應各人嗎？
If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it ? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it ? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
24:13 我兒，你要吃蜜，因為是好的；吃蜂房下滴的蜜便覺甘甜。
My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: to...: Heb. upon thy palate
24:14 你心得了智慧，也必覺得如此。你若找著，至終必有善報；你的指望也不致斷絕。
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it , then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
24:15 你這惡人，不要埋伏攻擊義人的家；不要毀壞他安居之所。
Lay not wait, O wicked man , against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
24:16 因為，義人雖七次跌倒，仍必興起；惡人卻被禍患傾倒。
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
24:17 你仇敵跌倒，你不要歡喜；他傾倒，你心不要快樂；
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
24:18 恐怕耶和華看見就不喜悅，將怒氣從仇敵身上轉過來。
Lest the LORD see it , and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. it displeaseth...: Heb. it be evil in his eyes
24:19 不要為作惡的心懷不平，也不要嫉妒惡人；
Fret not thyself because of evil men , neither be thou envious at the wicked; Fret...: or, Keep not company with the wicked
24:20 因為，惡人終不得善報；惡人的燈也必熄滅。
For there shall be no reward to the evil man ; the candle of the wicked shall be put out. candle: or, lamp
24:21 我兒，你要敬畏耶和華與君王，不要與反覆無常的人結交，
My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: them...: Heb. changers
24:22 因為他們的災難必忽然而起。耶和華與君王所施行的毀滅，誰能知道呢？
For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
24:23 以下也是智慧人的箴言：審判時看人情面是不好的。
These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
24:24 對惡人說「你是義人」的，這人萬民必咒詛，列邦必憎惡。
He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
24:25 責備惡人的，必得喜悅；美好的福也必臨到他。
But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them. a good...: Heb. a blessing of good
24:26 應對正直的，猶如與人親嘴。
Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer. that...: Heb. that answereth right words
24:27 你要在外頭預備工料，在田間辦理整齊，然後建造房屋。
Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
24:28 不可無故作見證陷害鄰舍，也不可用嘴欺騙人。
Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
24:29 不可說：人怎樣待我，我也怎樣待他；我必照他所行的報復他。
Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
24:30 我經過懶惰人的田地、無知人的葡萄園，
I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
24:31 荊棘長滿了地皮，刺草遮蓋了田面，石牆也坍塌了。
And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
24:32 我看見就留心思想；我看著就領了訓誨。
Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction. considered...: Heb. set my heart
24:33 再睡片時，打盹片時，抱著手躺臥片時，
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
24:34 你的貧窮就必如強盜速來，你的缺乏彷彿拿兵器的人來到。
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man. an...: Heb. a man of shield
