37:14 約伯啊，你要留心聽，要站立思想 神奇妙的作為。
37:15 神如何吩咐這些，如何使雲中的電光照耀，你知道嗎？
37:16 雲彩如何浮於空中，那知識全備者奇妙的作為，你知道嗎？
37:17 南風使地寂靜，你的衣服就如火熱，你知道嗎？
37:18 你豈能與 神同鋪穹蒼嗎？這穹蒼堅硬，如同鑄成的鏡子。
37:19 我們愚昧不能陳說；請你指教我們該對他說甚麼話。
37:20 人豈可說：我願與他說話？豈有人自願滅亡嗎？
37:21 現在有雲遮蔽，人不得見穹蒼的光亮；但風吹過，天又發晴。
37:22 金光出於北方，在 神那裡有可怕的威嚴。
37:23 論到全能者，我們不能測度；他大有能力，有公平和大義，必不苦待人。
37:24 所以，人敬畏他；凡自以為心中有智慧的人，他都不顧念。
默想: 以利戶提醒約伯應當敬畏上帝，因為上帝的作為偉大難測。當我們看到閃電、雷聲時就心裡戰兢，大自然的力量讓我們感受到上帝的威嚴和能力。
在地上不論是大雨、暴雨、暴風、寒冷都是在上帝的控制之下，雲彩、雷電、都照上帝的旨意發生。從這些事情以利戶提醒約伯，我們都不知道、不曉得上帝的偉大作為，但是這些作為，顯示出上帝的全知全能。相對之下，我們人類，知道的那麼少，約伯實在不該批評上帝。以利戶用反語問約伯，「如果你那麼聰明，就該指教我們怎麼樣接近這位偉大的上帝，因為我們都不知道」。約伯不是希望直接與上帝對話嗎？但是人連眼直視太陽都辦不到了，何況在上帝面前呢？最後，以利戶提醒約伯，上帝不會顧念驕傲的人。
在這裡以利戶所表達的原則是正確的，人再怎麼有智慧，用來與上帝上的智慧相較，實在是少得可憐。以利戶的許多觀念都比其他的三個朋友進步很多。所以上帝出現實，批評的是那三位朋友，但是卻沒有批評以利戶。但是以利戶，也犯了錯誤，就是他對約伯實在是妄加揣測判斷。
題目: 以利戶如何描述神的不可測度呢？
37:1 因此我心戰兢，從原處移動。
At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
37:2 聽啊， 神轟轟的聲音是他口中所發的響聲。
Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth. Hear...: Heb. Hear in hearing
37:3 他發響聲震遍天下，發電光閃到地極。
He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. lightning: Heb. light ends: Heb. wings
37:4 隨後人聽見有雷聲轟轟，大發威嚴，雷電接連不斷。
After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
37:5 神發出奇妙的雷聲；他行大事，我們不能測透。
God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
37:6 他對雪說：要降在地上；對大雨和暴雨也是這樣說。
For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength. likewise...: Heb. and to the shower of rain, and to the showers of rain of his strength
37:7 他封住各人的手，叫所造的萬人都曉得他的作為。
He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
37:8 百獸進入穴中，臥在洞內。
Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
37:9 暴風出於南宮；寒冷出於北方。
Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north. south: Heb. chamber north: Heb. scattering winds
37:10 神噓氣成冰；寬闊之水也都凝結。
By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
37:11 他使密雲盛滿水氣，布散電光之雲；
Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud: his...: Heb. the cloud of his light
37:12 這雲是藉他的指引游行旋轉，得以在全地面上行他一切所吩咐的，
And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
37:13 或為責罰，或為潤地，或為施行慈愛。
He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy. correction: Heb. a rod
37:14 約伯啊，你要留心聽，要站立思想 神奇妙的作為。
Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
37:15 神如何吩咐這些，如何使雲中的電光照耀，你知道嗎？
Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
37:16 雲彩如何浮於空中，那知識全備者奇妙的作為，你知道嗎？
Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
37:17 南風使地寂靜，你的衣服就如火熱，你知道嗎？
How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind ?
37:18 你豈能與 神同鋪穹蒼嗎？這穹蒼堅硬，如同鑄成的鏡子。
Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
37:19 我們愚昧不能陳說；請你指教我們該對他說甚麼話。
Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
37:20 人豈可說：我願與他說話？豈有人自願滅亡嗎？
Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
37:21 現在有雲遮蔽，人不得見穹蒼的光亮；但風吹過，天又發晴。
And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
37:22 金光出於北方，在 神那裡有可怕的威嚴。
Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty. Fair...: Heb. Gold
37:23 論到全能者，我們不能測度；他大有能力，有公平和大義，必不苦待人。
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
37:24 所以，人敬畏他；凡自以為心中有智慧的人，他都不顧念。
Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
