經文: 士師記 15:7 參孫對非利士人說:你們既然這樣行,我必向你們報仇才肯罷休。

默想: 從本段經文中,我們看到參孫與非利士人都是以復仇性公義 (retributive justice) 來處理彼此之間的傷害與挫折。復仇性公義最大的問題,是傷人者與復仇者對於該傷害的程度,以及如何才算是公義的評估標準,往往很難取得一致。當復仇者感覺,如此傷害對方,剛好是達到公義的要求時,傷人者卻感覺復仇者所造成的傷害程度,遠超過公義的標準。因此,冤冤相報,只會帶來一來一往、螺旋式的彼此傷害程度的加劇與擴大,一直到兩敗俱傷、同歸一盡的悲慘下場。主耶穌基督在十字架上臨死之前,為那些將他誣告以及把他釘死在十字架的人,向上帝禱告,求上帝能夠赦免他們。這種用饒恕來處理傷害的方法,開創了另外一種公義,稱為復和性公義 (restorative justice)。求主幫助我,在受到別人傷害時,能夠依靠主耶穌的力量,學習復和性公義的功課,免去復仇性公義的悲劇。

題目: 參孫經歷妻被奪、火燒非利士田、報殺妻之仇、同胞出賣後,又得上主的靈大大感動,擊殺一千人。事後,卻感口渴幾乎至死,向上主祈求,賜下活水泉,以致精神復原、活力充沛。試想你曾否經驗在人生的盡頭,竟看見神再次賜活水泉的恩典?
15:1 過了些日子,到割麥子的時候,參孫帶著一隻山羊羔去看他的妻,說:「我要進內室見我的妻。」他岳父不容他進去,
After a while, at the time of wheat harvest, Samson went to visit his wife with a kid; and he said, "I will go in to my wife in the chamber." But her father would not allow him to go in.
15:2
說:「我估定你是極其恨她,因此我將她給了你的陪伴。她的妹子不是比她還美麗嗎?你可以娶來代替她吧!」
And her father said, "I really thought that you utterly hated her; so I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister fairer than she? Pray take her instead."
15:3
參孫說:「這回我加害於非利士人不算有罪。」
And Samson said to them, "This time I shall be blameless in regard to the Philistines, when I do them mischief."
15:4
於是參孫去捉了三百隻狐狸(或譯:野狗),將狐狸尾巴一對一對地捆上,將火把捆在兩條尾巴中間,
So Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took torches; and he turned them tail to tail, and put a torch between each pair of tails.
15:5
點著火把,就放狐狸進入非利士人站著的禾稼,將堆集的禾捆和未割的禾稼,並橄欖園盡都燒了。
And when he had set fire to the torches, he let the foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines, and burned up the shocks and the standing grain, as well as the olive orchards.
15:6
非利士人說:「這事是誰做的呢?」有人說:「是亭拿人的女婿參孫,因為他岳父將他的妻給了他的陪伴。」於是非利士人上去,用火燒了婦人和她的父親。
Then the Philistines said, "Who has done this?" And they said, "Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion." And the Philistines came up, and burned her and her father with fire.
15:7
參孫對非利士人說:「你們既然這樣行,我必向你們報仇才肯罷休。」
And Samson said to them, "If this is what you do, I swear I will be avenged upon you, and after that I will quit."
15:8
參孫就大大擊殺他們,連腿帶腰都砍斷了。他便下去,住在以坦磐的穴內。
And he smote them hip and thigh with great slaughter; and he went down and stayed in the cleft of the rock of Etam.
15:9
非利士人上去安營在猶大,布散在利希。
Then the Philistines came up and encamped in Judah, and made a raid on Lehi.
15:10
猶大人說:「你們為何上來攻擊我們呢?」他們說:「我們上來是要捆綁參孫;他向我們怎樣行,我們也要向他怎樣行。」
And the men of Judah said, "Why have you come up against us?" They said, "We have come up to bind Samson, to do to him as he did to us."
15:11
於是有三千猶大人下到以坦磐的穴內,對參孫說:「非利士人轄制我們,你不知道麼?你向我們行的是甚麼事呢?」他回答說:「他們向我怎樣行,我也要向他們怎樣行。」
Then three thousand men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and said to Samson, "Do you not know that the Philistines are rulers over us? What then is this that you have done to us?" And he said to them, "As they did to me, so have I done to them."
15:12
猶大人對他說:「我們下來是要捆綁你,將你交在非利士人手中。」參孫說:「你們要向我起誓,應承你們自己不害死我。」
And they said to him, "We have come down to bind you, that we may give you into the hands of the Philistines." And Samson said to them, "Swear to me that you will not fall upon me yourselves."
15:13
他們說:「我們斷不殺你,只要將你捆綁交在非利士人手中。」於是用兩條新繩捆綁參孫,將他從以坦磐帶上去。
They said to him, "No; we will only bind you and give you into their hands; we will not kill you." So they bound him with two new ropes, and brought him up from the rock.
15:14
參孫到了利希,非利士人都迎著喧嚷。耶和華的靈大大感動參孫,他臂上的繩就像火燒的麻一樣,他的綁繩都從他手上脫落下來。
When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting to meet him; and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the ropes which were on his arms became as flax that has caught fire, and his bonds melted off his hands.
15:15
他見一塊未乾的驢腮骨,就伸手拾起來,用以擊殺一千人。
And he found a fresh jawbone of an ass, and put out his hand and seized it, and with it he slew a thousand men.
15:16
參孫說:我用驢腮骨殺人成堆,用驢腮骨殺了一千人。
And Samson said, "With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jawbone of an ass have I slain a thousand men."
15:17
說完這話,就把那腮骨從手裡拋出去了。那地便叫拉末利希。
When he had finished speaking, he threw away the jawbone out of his hand; and that place was called Ra'math-le'hi.
15:18
參孫甚覺口渴,就求告耶和華說:「你既藉僕人的手施行這麼大的拯救,豈可任我渴死、落在未受割禮的人手中呢?」
And he was very thirsty, and he called on the LORD and said, "Thou hast granted this great deliverance by the hand of thy servant; and shall I now die of thirst, and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?"
15:19
 神就使利希的窪處裂開,有水從其中湧出來。參孫喝了,精神復原;因此那泉名叫隱哈歌利,那泉直到今日還在利希。
And God split open the hollow place that is at Lehi, and there came water from it; and when he drank, his spirit returned, and he revived. Therefore the name of it was called En-hakkor'e; it is at Lehi to this day.
15:20
當非利士人轄制以色列人的時候,參孫作以色列的士師二十年。
And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.

  1. 「神就使利希的窪處裂開,有水從其中湧出來。參孫喝了,精神復原;因此那泉名叫隱哈歌利 ,那泉直到今日還在利希。」(士師記 15:19節)

    在參孫用驢腮骨擊殺一千人戰役後,參孫第一次求告耶和華!當時他極度口渴,幾乎要死,而且身處險境,感受到孤獨無援,生命受到威脅(18節)。後來參孫口渴,他就求告耶和華,神就使地洞裂開,流出泉水,因此那泉名叫「隱.哈歌利」(הַקֹּורֵא, עֵין הַקֹּורֵא /En-hakkore = “spring of One calling”.),就是「求告者之泉」的意思。我們都或多或少有類似像參孫那樣的經驗,當我們認識到自己何等無助、軟弱之時,才會全心全意投靠神,求告神。

    以賽亞書 40:29節清楚地告訴我們:「疲乏的,他賜能力;軟弱的,他加力量」。是的,主是全足,全豐,全有的真神,祂大有權能,富有恩慈憐憫,我們疲乏時,祂賜能力;我們軟弱時,祂加力量。只要憑信心祈求,祂就應允,一點也不吝嗇。在我過去一甲子的人生中,祂陪伴我走過死蔭的幽谷,我也不怕遭害,因為主與我同在;祂的杖,祂的竿,都安慰我。在我敵人面前,祂為我擺設筵席;祂用油膏了我的頭,使我的福杯滿溢。我知道我一生一世必有恩惠慈愛隨著我;我且要住在耶和華的殿中,直到永遠。阿門!
