經文: 列王記上 17:8 耶和華的話臨到他說：「你起身往西頓的撒勒法（撒勒法與路加福音四章二十六節同）去，住在那裡；我已吩咐那裡的一個寡婦供養你。」
默想: 以利亞這位勇敢又忠心的先知，奉耶和華的差遣，前往指責亞哈王，並宣告耶和華將給以色列國帶來旱災。以利亞自己也與以色列國人民一起忍受旱災之苦。耶和華要先知以利亞先接受一隻烏鴉的供應。烏鴉是耶和華交待摩西屬於可憎的不潔淨的鳥類 (利11:13-15)。這對先知以利亞來說，是必須克服內心的障礙，才能夠吃進從一隻可憎不潔的鳥口中所叼來的餅與肉。然後，耶和華要先知以利亞去接受住在撒勒法一位寡婦的供養。當先知以利亞順從耶和華的吩咐，前往撒勒法時，卻發現那位寡婦家裡只剩下罈內一把麵與瓶中一點油。寡婦家裡還有一位嗷嗷待哺的孤兒。先知以利亞必須厚著臉皮，才能夠向這麼一位自己走到生存盡頭的寡婦開口要一個餅來吃。先知以利亞順從耶和華的帶領，向寡婦提出這個看來不近情理的要求。這位外邦人的寡婦竟然相信這位手中一無所有，須要靠她供應的先知所說出空口無憑的承諾。耶和華就這樣藉著寡婦家裡罈中一把麵與瓶中一點油，行供應的神蹟，養活了先知以利亞，外邦人寡婦以及她膝下的孤兒。親愛的主啊！你的行事奇妙，是我所無法測透的。你常常行那超乎常理的事，來教導我們不容易學習的屬靈功課。求主保守我，讓我不論在任何處境之下，都願意堅定相信並順服你的話語。
題目: 以利亞要求只剩一餐的寡婦，要「先」做一塊小餅給他，然後用剩下的做寡婦與孩子的餅。試想，若以利亞這段話是對你說的，你的信心會如何？
17:1 基列寄居的提斯比人以利亞對亞哈說：「我指著所事奉永生耶和華─以色列的 神起誓，這幾年我若不禱告，必不降露，不下雨。」
Now Eli'jah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word."
17:2 耶和華的話臨到以利亞說：
And the word of the LORD came to him,
17:3 「你離開這裡往東去，藏在約旦河東邊的基立溪旁。
"Depart from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is east of the Jordan.
17:4 你要喝那溪裡的水，我已吩咐烏鴉在那裡供養你。」
You shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there."
17:5 於是以利亞照著耶和華的話，去住在約旦河東的基立溪旁。
So he went and did according to the word of the LORD; he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith that is east of the Jordan.
17:6 烏鴉早晚給他叼餅和肉來，他也喝那溪裡的水。
And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.
17:7 過了些日子，溪水就乾了，因為雨沒有下在地上。
And after a while the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.
17:8 耶和華的話臨到他說：
Then the word of the LORD came to him,
17:9 「你起身往西頓的撒勒法【撒勒法與路四26同】去，住在那裡；我已吩咐那裡的一個寡婦供養你。」
"Arise, go to Zar'ephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to feed you."
17:10 以利亞就起身往撒勒法去。到了城門，見有一個寡婦在那裡撿柴，以利亞呼叫她說：「求你用器皿取點水來給我喝。」
So he arose and went to Zar'ephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks; and he called to her and said, "Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink."
17:11 她去取水的時候，以利亞又呼叫她說：「也求你拿點餅來給我！」
And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, "Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand."
17:12 她說：「我指著永生耶和華─你的 神起誓，我沒有餅，罈內只有一把麵，瓶裡只有一點油；我現在找兩根柴，回家要為我和我兒子做餅；我們吃了，死就死吧！」
And she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a cruse; and now, I am gathering a couple of sticks, that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die."
17:13 以利亞對她說：「不要懼怕！可以照你所說的去做吧！只要先為我做一個小餅拿來給我，然後為你和你的兒子做餅。
And Eli'jah said to her, "Fear not; go and do as you have said; but first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make for yourself and your son.
17:14 因為耶和華─以色列的 神如此說：罈內的麵必不減少，瓶裡的油必不缺短，直到耶和華使雨降在地上的日子。」
For thus says the LORD the God of Israel, `The jar of meal shall not be spent, and the cruse of oil shall not fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain upon the earth.'"
17:15 婦人就照以利亞的話去行。她和她家中的人，並以利亞，吃了許多日子。
And she went and did as Eli'jah said; and she, and he, and her household ate for many days.
17:16 罈內的麵果不減少，瓶裡的油也不缺短，正如耶和華藉以利亞所說的話。
The jar of meal was not spent, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD which he spoke by Eli'jah.
17:17 這事以後，作那家主母的婦人，她兒子病了；病得甚重，以致身無氣息。
After this the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became ill; and his illness was so severe that there was no breath left in him.
17:18 婦人對以利亞說：「神人哪，我與你何干？你竟到我這裡來，使 神想念我的罪，以致我的兒子死呢？」
And she said to Eli'jah, "What have you against me, O man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to cause the death of my son!"
17:19 以利亞對她說：「把你兒子交給我。」以利亞就從婦人懷中將孩子接過來，抱到他所住的樓中，放在自己的床上，
And he said to her, "Give me your son." And he took him from her bosom, and carried him up into the upper chamber, where he lodged, and laid him upon his own bed.
17:20 就求告耶和華說：「耶和華─我的 神啊，我寄居在這寡婦的家裡，你就降禍與她，使她的兒子死了嗎？」
And he cried to the LORD, "O LORD my God, hast thou brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?"
17:21 以利亞三次伏在孩子的身上，求告耶和華說：「耶和華─我的 神啊，求你使這孩子的靈魂仍入他的身體！」
Then he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried to the LORD, "O LORD my God, let this child's soul come into him again."
17:22 耶和華應允以利亞的話，孩子的靈魂仍入他的身體，他就活了。
And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Eli'jah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
17:23 以利亞將孩子從樓上抱下來，進屋子交給他母親，說：「看哪，你的兒子活了！」
And Eli'jah took the child, and brought him down from the upper chamber into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Eli'jah said, "See, your son lives."
17:24 婦人對以利亞說：「現在我知道你是神人，耶和華藉你口所說的話是真的。」
And the woman said to Eli'jah, "Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth."
Now Eli'jah the Tishbite, of Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word."
17:2 耶和華的話臨到以利亞說：
And the word of the LORD came to him,
17:3 「你離開這裡往東去，藏在約旦河東邊的基立溪旁。

17:14 因為耶和華─以色列的 神如此說：罈內的麵必不減少，瓶裡的油必不缺短，直到耶和華使雨降在地上的日子。」
For thus says the LORD the God of Israel, `The jar of meal shall not be spent, and the cruse of oil shall not fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain upon the earth.'"

And the woman said to Eli'jah, "Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth."
