經文: 列王記下 8:11-12 神人定睛看著哈薛，甚至他慚愧。神人就哭了；哈薛說：「我主為什麼哭？」回答說：「因為我知道你必苦害以色列人，用火焚燒他們的保障，用刀殺死他們的壯丁，摔死他們的嬰孩，剖開他們的孕婦。」
默想: 先知以利沙被耶和華啟示，知道被亞蘭王便哈達差派，前來向他請問病情預後的僕人哈薛，將會弒君篡位，成為亞蘭王，並且會率領亞蘭軍，殺敗以色列軍隊，還會用殘暴手段，殺害以色列百姓。因此，先知以利沙定睛看著哈薛，內心感到萬分傷慟而哀哭。讓我想起主耶穌，在被釘死十字架之前，最後一次要進入耶路撒冷城之前，在橄欖山麓，遠望耶路撒冷城而慟聲哀哭的情境。路加福音19章41-44節記載，耶穌快到耶路撒冷，看見城，就為他哀哭，說：「巴不得你在這日子知道關係你平安的事；無奈這事現在是隱藏的，叫你的眼看不出來。因為日子將到，你的仇敵必築起土壘，周圍環繞你，四面困住你，並要掃滅你和你裡頭的兒女，連一塊石頭也不留在石頭上，因你不知道眷顧你的時候。」求主幫助我，也能夠為那些不知道珍惜並眷顧上帝給他們能夠悔改時間與機會的人，內心感到悲哀，為他們哀哭，也為他們主前代求。
題目: 以利沙不只能預言上主的子民，也能預言敘利亞的君王。藉此，以利沙再次宣稱上主是普世的上主。你相信上主也是未認識祂的兒女之主嗎？
8:1 以利沙曾對所救活之子的那婦人說：「你和你的全家要起身往你可住的地方去住，因為耶和華命饑荒降在這地七年。」
Now Eli'sha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, "Arise, and depart with your household, and sojourn wherever you can; for the LORD has called for a famine, and it will come upon the land for seven years."
8:2 婦人就起身，照神人的話帶著全家往非利士地去，住了七年。
So the woman arose, and did according to the word of the man of God; she went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
8:3 七年完了，那婦人從非利士地回來，就出去為自己的房屋田地哀告王。
And at the end of the seven years, when the woman returned from the land of the Philistines, she went forth to appeal to the king for her house and her land.
8:4 那時王正與神人的僕人基哈西說：「請你將以利沙所行的一切大事告訴我。」
Now the king was talking with Geha'zi the servant of the man of God, saying, "Tell me all the great things that Eli'sha has done."
8:5 基哈西告訴王以利沙如何使死人復活，恰巧以利沙所救活、她兒子的那婦人為自己的房屋田地來哀告王。基哈西說：「我主我王，這就是那婦人，這是她的兒子，就是以利沙所救活的。」
And while he was telling the king how Eli'sha had restored the dead to life, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life appealed to the king for her house and her land. And Geha'zi said, "My lord, O king, here is the woman, and here is her son whom Eli'sha restored to life."
8:6 王問那婦人，她就把那事告訴王。於是王為她派一個太監，說：「凡屬這婦人的都還給她，自從她離開本地直到今日，她田地的出產也都還給她。」
And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed an official for her, saying, "Restore all that was hers, together with all the produce of the fields from the day that she left the land until now."
8:7 以利沙來到大馬士革，亞蘭王便哈達正患病。有人告訴王說：「神人來到這裡了。」
Now Eli'sha came to Damascus. Ben-ha'dad the king of Syria was sick; and when it was told him, "The man of God has come here,"
8:8 王就吩咐哈薛說：「你帶著禮物去見神人，託他求問耶和華，我這病能好不能好？」
the king said to Haz'ael, "Take a present with you and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD through him, saying, `Shall I recover from this sickness?'"
8:9 於是哈薛用四十個駱駝，馱著大馬士革的各樣美物為禮物，去見以利沙。到了他那裡，站在他面前，說：「你兒子亞蘭王便哈達打發我來見你，他問說：『我這病能好不能好？』」
So Haz'ael went to meet him, and took a present with him, all kinds of goods of Damascus, forty camel loads. When he came and stood before him, he said, "Your son Ben-ha'dad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, `Shall I recover from this sickness?'"
8:10 以利沙對哈薛說：「你回去告訴他說，這病必能好；但耶和華指示我，他必要死。」
And Eli'sha said to him, "Go, say to him, `You shall certainly recover'; but the LORD has shown me that he shall certainly die."
8:11 神人定睛看著哈薛，甚至他慚愧。神人就哭了；
And he fixed his gaze and stared at him, until he was ashamed. And the man of God wept.
8:12 哈薛說：「我主為甚麼哭？」回答說：「因為我知道你必苦害以色列人，用火焚燒他們的保障，用刀殺死他們的壯丁，摔死他們的嬰孩，剖開他們的孕婦。」
And Haz'ael said, "Why does my lord weep?" He answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the people of Israel; you will set on fire their fortresses, and you will slay their young men with the sword, and dash in pieces their little ones, and rip up their women with child."
8:13 哈薛說：「你僕人算甚麼，不過是一條狗，焉能行這大事呢？」以利沙回答說：「耶和華指示我，你必作亞蘭王。」
And Haz'ael said, "What is your servant, who is but a dog, that he should do this great thing?" Eli'sha answered, "The LORD has shown me that you are to be king over Syria."
8:14 哈薛離開以利沙，回去見他的主人。主人問他說：「以利沙對你說甚麼？」回答說：「他告訴我你必能好。」
Then he departed from Eli'sha, and came to his master, who said to him, "What did Eli'sha say to you?" And he answered, "He told me that you would certainly recover."
8:15 次日，哈薛拿被窩浸在水中，蒙住王的臉，王就死了。於是哈薛篡了他的位。
But on the morrow he took the coverlet and dipped it in water and spread it over his face, till he died. And Haz'ael became king in his stead.
8:16 以色列王亞哈的兒子約蘭第五年，猶大王約沙法還在位的時候，約沙法的兒子約蘭登基作了猶大王。
In the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jeho'ram the son of Jehosh'aphat, king of Judah, began to reign.
8:17 約蘭登基的時候年三十二歲，在耶路撒冷作王八年。
He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.
8:18 他行以色列諸王所行的，與亞哈家一樣；因為他娶了亞哈的女兒為妻，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事。
And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD.
8:19 耶和華卻因他僕人大衛的緣故，仍不肯滅絕猶大，照他所應許大衛的話，永遠賜燈光與他的子孫。
Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah, for the sake of David his servant, since he promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons for ever.
8:20 約蘭年間，以東人背叛猶大，脫離他的權下，自己立王。
In his days Edom revolted from the rule of Judah, and set up a king of their own.
8:21 約蘭率領所有的戰車往撒益去，夜間起來，攻打圍困他的以東人和車兵長；猶大兵就逃跑，各回各家去了。
Then Joram passed over to Za'ir with all his chariots, and rose by night, and he and his chariot commanders smote the E'domites who had surrounded him; but his army fled home.
8:22 這樣，以東人背叛猶大，脫離他的權下，直到今日。那時立拿人也背叛了。
So Edom revolted from the rule of Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
8:23 約蘭其餘的事，凡他所行的，都寫在猶大列王記上。
Now the rest of the acts of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
8:24 約蘭與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城他列祖的墳地裡。他兒子亞哈謝接續他作王。
So Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahazi'ah his son reigned in his stead.
8:25 以色列王亞哈的兒子約蘭十二年，猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝登基。
In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Ahazi'ah the son of Jeho'ram, king of Judah, began to reign.
8:26 他登基的時候年二十二歲，在耶路撒冷作王一年。他母親名叫亞他利雅，是以色列王暗利的孫女。
Ahazi'ah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athali'ah; she was a granddaughter of Omri king of Israel.
8:27 亞哈謝效法亞哈家行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，與亞哈家一樣，因為他是亞哈家的女婿。
He also walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, as the house of Ahab had done, for he was son-in-law to the house of Ahab.
8:28 他與亞哈的兒子約蘭同往基列的拉末去，與亞蘭王哈薛爭戰。亞蘭人打傷了約蘭，
He went with Joram the son of Ahab to make war against Haz'ael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead, where the Syrians wounded Joram.
8:29 約蘭王回到耶斯列，醫治在拉末與亞蘭王哈薛打仗的時候所受的傷。猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝因為亞哈的兒子約蘭病了，就下到耶斯列看望他。
And King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Haz'ael king of Syria. And Ahazi'ah the son of Jeho'ram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
Now Eli'sha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, "Arise, and depart with your household, and sojourn wherever you can; for the LORD has called for a famine, and it will come upon the land for seven years."
