經文: 撒母耳記下 9:1 大衛問說：「掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他施恩。」
默想: 大衛王在蒙耶和華祝福，國勢興旺之後，還記得當他年輕時，約拿單將自己的武器與軍裝送給大衛。當大衛被掃羅王追殺時，掃羅的兒子約拿單一直設法要替大衛向掃羅王說好話，也一直保護大衛，鼓勵大衛，並且與大衛立下盟誓，要彼此善待對方的後代。約拿單與掃羅王同一天戰死沙場。大衛王沒有忘記他過去與約拿單所立的盟誓。他用心計較的設法打聽約拿單的後代，結果打聽到還留下一個雙腳全瘸的米非波設。大衛邀請他到京城耶路撒冷居住，並且與大衛王同席吃飯，如同王子一般。大衛還把掃羅王所遺留的田產完全歸還給他，還請掃羅王過去的家僕洗巴繼續服侍米非波設。求主幫助我，要盡力持守與別人所立下的盟誓，對於過去所曾經領受過別人的恩典，要常常牢記在心，找機會要回報別人的恩典。
題目: 大衛敬畏神，也履行他向上帝所許諾要用慈愛款待約拿單的後代米非波設？然如此行，也讓有心人士誤解大衛因為害怕掃羅的孫子叛變，而將之軟禁在身邊以便監視。對此你有何想法？
9:1 大衛問說：「掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他施恩。」
And David said, "Is there still any one left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"
9:2 掃羅家有一個僕人，名叫洗巴，有人叫他來見大衛，王問他說：「你是洗巴嗎？」回答說：「僕人是。」
Now there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba, and they called him to David; and the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" And he said, "Your servant is he."
9:3 王說：「掃羅家還有人沒有？我要照 神的慈愛恩待他。」洗巴對王說：「還有約拿單的一個兒子，是瘸腿的。」
And the king said, "Is there not still some one of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him?" Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan; he is crippled in his feet."
9:4 王說：「他在哪裡？」洗巴對王說：「他在羅底巴，亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡。」
The king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "He is in the house of Machir the son of Am'miel, at Lo-debar."
9:5 於是大衛王打發人去，從羅底巴亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡召了他來。
Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Am'miel, at Lo-debar.
9:6 掃羅的孫子、約拿單的兒子米非波設來見大衛，伏地叩拜。大衛說：「米非波設！」米非波設說：「僕人在此。」
And Mephib'osheth the son of Jonathan, son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said, "Mephib'osheth!" And he answered, "Behold, your servant."
9:7 大衛說：「你不要懼怕，我必因你父親約拿單的緣故施恩與你，將你祖父掃羅的一切田地都歸還你；你也可以常與我同席吃飯。」
And David said to him, "Do not fear; for I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan, and I will restore to you all the land of Saul your father; and you shall eat at my table always."
9:8 米非波設又叩拜，說：「僕人算甚麼，不過如死狗一般，竟蒙王這樣眷顧！」
And he did obeisance, and said, "What is your servant, that you should look upon a dead dog such as I?"
9:9 王召了掃羅的僕人洗巴來，對他說：「我已將屬掃羅和他的一切家產都賜給你主人的兒子了。
Then the king called Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, "All that belonged to Saul and to all his house I have given to your master's son.
9:10 你和你的眾子、僕人要為你主人的兒子米非波設耕種田地，把所產的拿來供他食用；他卻要常與我同席吃飯。」洗巴有十五個兒子，二十個僕人。
And you and your sons and your servants shall till the land for him, and shall bring in the produce, that your master's son may have bread to eat; but Mephib'osheth your master's son shall always eat at my table." Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
9:11 洗巴對王說：「凡我主我王吩咐僕人的，僕人都必遵行。」王又說：「米非波設必與我同席吃飯，如王的兒子一樣。」
Then Ziba said to the king, "According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so will your servant do." So Mephib'osheth ate at David's table, like one of the king's sons.
9:12 米非波設有一個小兒子，名叫米迦。凡住在洗巴家裡的人都作了米非波設的僕人。
And Mephib'osheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. And all who dwelt in Ziba's house became Mephib'osheth's servants.
9:13 於是米非波設住在耶路撒冷，常與王同席吃飯。他兩腿都是瘸的。
So Mephib'osheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he ate always at the king's table. Now he was lame in both his feet.
And David said, "Is there still any one left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"
9:2 掃羅家有一個僕人，名叫洗巴，有人叫他來見大衛，王問他說：「你是洗巴嗎？」回答說：「僕人是。」

回覆刪除1. 約拿單對大衛說：「願耶和華以色列的神為證。明日約在這時候，或第三日，我探我父親的意思，若向你有好意，我豈不打發人告訴你嗎？我父親若有意害你，我不告訴你使你平平安安的走，願耶和華重重的降罰與我。願耶和華與你同在，如同從前與我父親同在一樣。你要照耶和華的慈愛恩待我，不但我活著的時候免我死亡，就是我死後，耶和華從地上剪除你仇敵的時候，你也永不可向我家絕了恩惠。」於是約拿單與大衛家結盟，說：「願耶和華藉大衛的仇敵追討背約的罪。」約拿單因愛大衛如同愛自己的性命，就使他再起誓。(撒上 20:12-17)
2. 約拿單對大衛說：「我們二人曾指著耶和華的名起誓說：『願耶和華在你我中間，並你我後裔中間為證，直到永遠。』如今你平平安安的去吧！」大衛就起身走了；約拿單也回城裡去了。(撒上 20:42)

從本章經文，我們看到「大衛善待米非波設」。大衛正如我們曾說及，首先顯示出他對約拿單的忠誠，和成全對約拿單早在許多年之前已立下的承諾(撒上 20:12-17 & 42)，約拿單已死去多年；這段期間米非波設由孩童長大成人了。沒有人強逼大衛去記念，或者尊崇這個陳舊的誓言；然而他這樣做了。在古代的社會，一個新的君王會斬草除根 --- 屠殺前任家中的成員，以便絕對保證他們不會對他構成危險，這是很普遍的事。大衛對米非波設的行動剛剛相反。在某些程度上突出大衛是個遵守諾言的人。這恩惠不是絕對『不配得的』；但雖然不那麼驚奇，至少這是真實的和罕見的。
1) 大衛積極、主動的去找尋掃羅的後人，主要原因是因為他與約拿單那份深厚交情的緣故（1）；又因神的慈愛（3）致他不虞掃羅的後人隨時將他推翻而恢復王位。
2) 大衛是信實的守約者，大衛也沒有忘記與約拿單所立的約（參撒上二十14～17、42），我們見到起誓立約很易，守約者卻有幾何？尤其在危機四伏之時，不是你死就是我亡之際，仍能守約的人真是難得。
3) 大衛對待米非波設是真誠和滿有恩慈的，並且大衛是盡所能的接待他，安慰他；將田地歸還他；與他同席喫飯（7～10），在這方面他做了一個好榜樣。
求主幫助我們，學習大衛對約拿單守約，信實的態度，對人要有誠信（Integrity），因著神是信實的，我們憑著信心來到祂的施恩寶座前，可以坦然無懼的求告祂；看到大衛善待米非波設，即如主耶穌對待我們一樣的，慈愛和恩情並重。我們本來是不配對，是殘廢醜陋的，死在過犯當中。感謝神！因着信，但主耶穌的恩典，上帝的慈愛和憐憫，藉著主耶穌的寶血，叫我們與基督一同活過來（得球本乎恩），我們才能與神和好，成為祂的兒女。我們才能像大衛一樣，求主幫助我們，照神的慈愛恩待得罪我們的人和他的後裔。
