經文: 馬太福音 7:3 為什麼看見你弟兄眼中有刺，卻不想自己眼中有梁木呢？
默想: 我們的眼睛被造成只能看到別人，無法看到自己。除非用鏡子來看自己在鏡子中的影子。但是如果我們的問題是出在我們的眼睛時，則連鏡子也無法幫助我們看清楚自己的問題所在了。我們眼睛中的玻璃狀體、水晶體、或眼角膜如果有異物存在，這個異物可以投影在我們所看的東西上面，會讓我們誤以為我們所看到的東西是不乾淨的。實際上，是我們自己眼睛的問題。求主幫助我，願意常常學習自我反省，同時也願意傾聽別人對自己的批判，更要常常在禱告中懇求聖靈的光照，聆聽聖靈細微的聲音。當我看到別人有問題時，求主提醒我，更要謹慎自我反省，是否也有相同，或者甚至更為嚴重的問題。
題目: 耶穌所說的蓋房子比喻，聰明和無知的建造者差別在哪裡？你認為建造生命的根基是什麼？
7:1 「你們不要論斷人，免得你們被論斷。
"Judge not, that you be not judged.
7:2 因為你們怎樣論斷人，也必怎樣被論斷；你們用甚麼量器量給人，也必用甚麼量器量給你們。
For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.
7:3 為甚麼看見你弟兄眼中有刺，卻不想自己眼中有梁木呢？
Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
7:4 你自己眼中有梁木，怎能對你弟兄說：『容我去掉你眼中的刺』呢？
Or how can you say to your brother, `Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye?
7:5 你這假冒為善的人！先去掉自己眼中的梁木，然後才能看得清楚，去掉你弟兄眼中的刺。
You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
7:6 不要把聖物給狗，也不要把你們的珍珠丟在豬前，恐怕牠踐踏了珍珠，轉過來咬你們。」
"Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot and turn to attack you.
7:7 「你們祈求，就給你們；尋找，就尋見；叩門，就給你們開門。
"Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
7:8 因為凡祈求的，就得著；尋找的，就尋見；叩門的，就給他開門。
For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
7:9 你們中間誰有兒子求餅，反給他石頭呢？
Or what man of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
7:10 求魚，反給他蛇呢？
Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?
7:11 你們雖然不好，尚且知道拿好東西給兒女，何況你們在天上的父，豈不更把好東西給求他的人嗎？
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
7:12 所以，無論何事，你們願意人怎樣待你們，你們也要怎樣待人，因為這就是律法和先知的道理。」
So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
7:13 「你們要進窄門。因為引到滅亡，那門是寬的，路是大的，進去的人也多；
"Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
7:14 引到永生，那門是窄的，路是小的，找著的人也少。」
For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
7:15 「你們要防備假先知。他們到你們這裡來，外面披著羊皮，裡面卻是殘暴的狼。
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
7:16 憑著他們的果子，就可以認出他們來。荊棘上豈能摘葡萄呢？蒺藜裡豈能摘無花果呢？
You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles?
7:17 這樣，凡好樹都結好果子，惟獨壞樹結壞果子。
So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit.
7:18 好樹不能結壞果子；壞樹不能結好果子。
A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
7:19 凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丟在火裡。
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
7:20 所以，憑著他們的果子就可以認出他們來。」
Thus you will know them by their fruits.
7:21 「凡稱呼我『主啊，主啊』的人不能都進天國；惟獨遵行我天父旨意的人才能進去。
"Not every one who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
7:22 當那日必有許多人對我說：『主啊，主啊，我們不是奉你的名傳道，奉你的名趕鬼，奉你的名行許多異能嗎？』
On that day many will say to me, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?'
7:23 我就明明地告訴他們說：『我從來不認識你們，你們這些作惡的人，離開我去吧！』」
And then will I declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.'
7:24 「所以，凡聽見我這話就去行的，好比一個聰明人，把房子蓋在磐石上；
"Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock;
7:25 雨淋，水沖，風吹，撞著那房子，房子總不倒塌，因為根基立在磐石上。
and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
7:26 凡聽見我這話不去行的，好比一個無知的人，把房子蓋在沙土上；
And every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand;
7:27 雨淋，水沖，風吹，撞著那房子，房子就倒塌了，並且倒塌得很大。」
and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it."
7:28 耶穌講完了這些話，眾人都希奇他的教訓；
And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching,
7:29 因為他教訓他們，正像有權柄的人，不像他們的文士。
for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.
