W1 2012-02-27(士12)經文: 士師記 12:1 以法蓮人聚集,到了北方,對耶弗他說:你去與亞捫人爭戰,為什麼沒有招我們同去呢?我們必用火燒你和你的房屋。耶弗他對他們說:我和我的民與亞捫人大大爭戰;我招你們來,你們竟沒有來救我脫離他們的手。我見你們不來救我,我就拚命前去攻擊亞捫人,耶和華將他們交在我手中。你們今日為什麼上我這裡來攻打我呢?

經文: 士師記 12:1 以法蓮人聚集,到了北方,對耶弗他說:你去與亞捫人爭戰,為什麼沒有招我們同去呢?我們必用火燒你和你的房屋。耶弗他對他們說:我和我的民與亞捫人大大爭戰;我招你們來,你們竟沒有來救我脫離他們的手。我見你們不來救我,我就拚命前去攻擊亞捫人,耶和華將他們交在我手中。你們今日為什麼上我這裡來攻打我呢?

默想: 還記得當年基甸帶領三百人,與米甸人爭戰時,以法蓮人也來做相同的抱怨。(8:1-3) 當時基甸用低調謙卑溫和的話回答以法蓮人的抱怨,化解了一場不必要的兄弟鬩牆之鬥。但是,在這裡我們看見耶弗他與基甸不相同之處。耶弗他是採取高調對抗控訴的態度來對付以法蓮人的抱怨。結果帶來了一場悲慘的骨肉相殘,以法蓮人被殺了四萬兩千人。箴言151節說,回答柔和,使怒消退;言語暴戾,觸動怒氣。箴言2515節說,恆常忍耐可以勸動君王;柔和的舌頭能折斷骨頭。求主讓我學習基甸那樣謙卑柔和的態度來與別人溝通與互動。

題目: 耶弗他和以法蓮人骨肉相殘,試問,在我們的家族、親情中,是否也曾因某種因由引起爭執,而造成彼此傷害?試想,值得嗎?
12:1 以法蓮人聚集,到了北方,對耶弗他說:「你去與亞捫人爭戰,為甚麼沒有招我們同去呢?我們必用火燒你和你的房屋。」
The men of E'phraim were called to arms, and they crossed to Zaphon and said to Jephthah, "Why did you cross over to fight against the Ammonites, and did not call us to go with you? We will burn your house over you with fire."
12:2
耶弗他對他們說:「我和我的民與亞捫人大大爭戰;我招你們來,你們竟沒有來救我脫離他們的手。
And Jephthah said to them, "I and my people had a great feud with the Ammonites; and when I called you, you did not deliver me from their hand.
12:3
我見你們不來救我,我就拚命前去攻擊亞捫人,耶和華將他們交在我手中。你們今日為甚麼上我這裡來攻打我呢?」
And when I saw that you would not deliver me, I took my life in my hand, and crossed over against the Ammonites, and the LORD gave them into my hand; why then have you come up to me this day, to fight against me?"
12:4
於是耶弗他招聚基列人,與以法蓮人爭戰。基列人擊殺以法蓮,是因他們說:「你們基列人在以法蓮、瑪拿西中間,不過是以法蓮逃亡的人。」
Then Jephthah gathered all the men of Gilead and fought with E'phraim; and the men of Gilead smote E'phraim, because they said, "You are fugitives of E'phraim, you Gileadites, in the midst of E'phraim and Manas'seh."
12:5
基列人把守約旦河的渡口,不容以法蓮人過去。以法蓮逃走的人若說:「容我過去。」基列人就問他說:「你是以法蓮人不是?」他若說:「不是」,
And the Gileadites took the fords of the Jordan against the E'phraimites. And when any of the fugitives of E'phraim said, "Let me go over," the men of Gilead said to him, "Are you an E'phraimite?" When he said, "No,"
12:6
就對他說:「你說『示播列』。」;以法蓮人因為咬不真字音,便說「西播列」。基列人就將他拿住,殺在約旦河的渡口。那時以法蓮人被殺的有四萬二千人。
they said to him, "Then say Shibboleth," and he said, "Sibboleth," for he could not pronounce it right; then they seized him and slew him at the fords of the Jordan. And there fell at that time forty-two thousand of the E'phraimites.
12:7
耶弗他作以色列的士師六年。基列人耶弗他死了,葬在基列的一座城裡。
Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then Jephthah the Gileadite died, and was buried in his city in Gilead.
12:8
耶弗他以後,有伯利恆人以比讚作以色列士師。
After him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.
12:9
他有三十個兒子,三十女兒;女兒都嫁出去了。他給眾子從外鄉娶了三十媳婦。他作以色列的士師七年。
He had thirty sons; and thirty daughters he gave in marriage outside his clan, and thirty daughters he brought in from outside for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.
12:10
以比讚死了,葬在伯利恆。
Then Ibzan died, and was buried at Bethlehem.
12:11
以比讚之後,,有西布倫人以倫,作以色列的士師十年。
After him Elon the Zeb'ulunite judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years.
12:12
西布倫人以倫死了,葬在西布倫地的亞雅崙。
Then Elon the Zeb'ulunite died, and was buried at Ai'jalon in the land of Zeb'ulun.
12:13
以倫之後,有比拉頓人希列的兒子押頓作以色列的士師。
After him Abdon the son of Hillel the Pira'thonite judged Israel.
12:14
他有四十個兒子,三十個孫子,騎著七十匹驢駒。押頓作以色列的士師八年。
He had forty sons and thirty grandsons, who rode on seventy asses; and he judged Israel eight years.
12:15
比拉頓人希列的兒子押頓死了,葬在以法蓮地的比拉頓,在亞瑪力人的山地。
Then Abdon the son of Hillel the Pira'thonite died, and was buried at Pira'thon in the land of E'phraim, in the hill country of the Amal'ekites.

  1. 耶弗他與亞捫人的戰事結束後,以法蓮人跟耶弗他理論(1~6)。以法蓮人「好大喜功」,「喜愛挑釁」,找人麻煩。在基甸戰勝米甸之後,他們曾與基甸爭論(士師記第8章),現在又與耶弗他爭吵。我們已看見過耶弗他如何跟亞捫王的外交談判,據理力爭之情況;現在他也是跟以法蓮領袖絕不退讓,況且以法蓮人並未幫助耶弗他與亞捫人作戰(2),戰後卻想來邀功,這種心態實在很要不得!加上以法蓮人向基列人言語上的挑釁(4),於是雙方開戰。
    基列人和以法蓮人都是以色列人,同室操戈,兄弟相殘,實在可悲!人與人之間的仇恨結怨,許多時都因我們的驕傲自大,喜愛挑釁他人,恐嚇,想要佔便宜,言語不檢點而引起爭執。求主幫助我們做與人和睦的人,謙卑、在基督裡,彼此相愛,行在光明中,作神寶貝,為神悅納的子女。Linsanity 的林書豪,謙卑、有團隊精神的人,禱告,以榮神益人為最優先考量,就是一個很好的例證。
