經文: 士師記 7:2 耶和華對基甸說：跟隨你的人過多，我不能將米甸人交在他們手中，免得以色列人向我誇大，說：是我們自己的手救了我們。
默想: 這段話可以讓我們深思，當我們被上帝大大使用時，我們就可能陷入狐假虎威、沾沾自喜、驕傲自大的險境。這正是撒但當年從天上墮落的原因。撒但是上帝所重用的天使長，是天上一顆閃爍耀眼的啟明星。但是，他不會謙卑感恩，反而想要與神同等，就從天上墜落陰間。求主保守我，當自己有機會被上帝使用時，學會儆醒禱告，謙卑感恩，不要成為驕傲自誇，而被神管教。
題目: 耶和華對基甸說「跟隨你的人過多」這句提醒我們思考，是否常想靠自己的力量戰勝？然，這段經文卻告訴我們「信靠耶和華，祂將為你爭戰。」試想，我們願在每件事上，全然仰望神，交託給祂，讓他為我們而戰嗎？
7:1 耶路巴力就是基甸，他和一切跟隨的人早晨起來，在哈律泉旁安營。米甸營在他們北邊的平原，靠近摩利岡。
Then Jerubba'al (that is, Gideon) and all the people who were with him rose early and encamped beside the spring of Harod; and the camp of Mid'ian was north of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
7:2 耶和華對基甸說：「跟隨你的人過多，我不能將米甸人交在他們手中，免得以色列人向我誇大，說：『是我們自己的手救了我們。』
The LORD said to Gideon, "The people with you are too many for me to give the Mid'ianites into their hand, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, `My own hand has delivered me.'
7:3 現在你要向這些人宣告說：『凡懼怕膽怯的，可以離開基列山回去。』」於是有二萬二千人回去，只剩下一萬。
Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, `Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return home.'" And Gideon tested them; twenty-two thousand returned, and ten thousand remained.
7:4 耶和華對基甸說：「人還是過多；你要帶他們下到水旁，我好在那裡為你試試他們。我指點誰說：『這人可以同你去』，他就可以同你去；我指點誰說：『這人不可同你去』，他就不可同你去。」
And the LORD said to Gideon, "The people are still too many; take them down to the water and I will test them for you there; and he of whom I say to you, `This man shall go with you,' shall go with you; and any of whom I say to you, `This man shall not go with you,' shall not go."
7:5 基甸就帶他們下到水旁。耶和華對基甸說：「凡用舌頭舔水，像狗舔的，要使他單站在一處；凡跪下喝水的，也要使他單站在一處。」
So he brought the people down to the water; and the LORD said to Gideon, "Every one that laps the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set by himself; likewise every one that kneels down to drink."
7:6 於是用手捧著舔水的有三百人，其餘的都跪下喝水。
And the number of those that lapped, putting their hands to their mouths, was three hundred men; but all the rest of the people knelt down to drink water.
7:7 耶和華對基甸說：「我要用這舔水的三百人拯救你們，將米甸人交在你手中；其餘的人都可以各歸各處去。」
And the LORD said to Gideon, "With the three hundred men that lapped I will deliver you, and give the Mid'ianites into your hand; and let all the others go every man to his home."
7:8 這三百人就帶著食物和角；其餘的以色列人，基甸都打發他們各歸各的帳棚，只留下這三百人。米甸營在他下邊的平原裡。
So he took the jars of the people from their hands, and their trumpets; and he sent all the rest of Israel every man to his tent, but retained the three hundred men; and the camp of Mid'ian was below him in the valley.
7:9 當那夜，耶和華吩咐基甸說：「起來，下到米甸營裡去，因我已將他們交在你手中。
That same night the LORD said to him, "Arise, go down against the camp; for I have given it into your hand.
7:10 倘若你怕下去，就帶你的僕人普拉下到那營裡去。
But if you fear to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant;
7:11 你必聽見他們所說的，然後你就有膽量下去攻營」。於是基甸帶著僕人普拉下到營旁。
and you shall hear what they say, and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp." Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outposts of the armed men that were in the camp.
7:12 米甸人、亞瑪力人，和一切東方人都布散在平原，如同蝗蟲那樣多。他們的駱駝無數，多如海邊的沙。
And the Mid'ianites and the Amal'ekites and all the people of the East lay along the valley like locusts for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand which is upon the seashore for multitude.
7:13 基甸到了，就聽見一人將夢告訴同伴說：「我做了一夢，夢見一個大麥餅滾入米甸營中，到了帳幕，將帳幕撞倒，帳幕就翻轉傾覆了。」
When Gideon came, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade; and he said, "Behold, I dreamed a dream; and lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Mid'ian, and came to the tent, and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down, so that the tent lay flat."
7:14 那同伴說：「這不是別的，乃是以色列人約阿施的兒子基甸的刀； 神已將米甸和全軍都交在他的手中。」
And his comrade answered, "This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Jo'ash, a man of Israel; into his hand God has given Mid'ian and all the host."
7:15 基甸聽見這夢和夢的講解，就敬拜 神，回到以色列營中，說：「起來吧！耶和華已將米甸的軍隊交在你們手中了。」
When Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped; and he returned to the camp of Israel, and said, "Arise; for the LORD has given the host of Mid'ian into your hand."
7:16 於是基甸將三百人分作三隊，把角和空瓶交在各人手裡（瓶內都藏著火把），
And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and put trumpets into the hands of all of them and empty jars, with torches inside the jars.
7:17 吩咐他們說：「你們要看我行事：我到了營的旁邊怎樣行，你們也要怎樣行。
And he said to them, "Look at me, and do likewise; when I come to the outskirts of the camp, do as I do.
7:18 我和一切跟隨我的人吹角的時候，你們也要在營的四圍吹角，喊叫說：耶和華和基甸的刀！」
When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then blow the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and shout, `For the LORD and for Gideon.'"
7:19 基甸和跟隨他的一百人，在三更之初才換更的時候，來到營旁，就吹角，打破手中的瓶。
So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outskirts of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, when they had just set the watch; and they blew the trumpets and smashed the jars that were in their hands.
7:20 三隊的人就都吹角，打破瓶子，左手拿著火把，右手拿著角，喊叫說：「耶和華和基甸的刀！」
And the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the jars, holding in their left hands the torches, and in their right hands the trumpets to blow; and they cried, "A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!"
7:21 他們在營的四圍各站各的地方；全營的人都亂竄。三百人吶喊，使他們逃跑。
They stood every man in his place round about the camp, and all the army ran; they cried out and fled.
7:22 三百人就吹角，耶和華使全營的人用刀互相擊殺，逃到西利拉的伯•哈示他，直逃到靠近他巴的亞伯•米何拉。
When they blew the three hundred trumpets, the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow and against all the army; and the army fled as far as Beth-shit'tah toward Zer'erah, as far as the border of A'bel-meho'lah, by Tabbath.
7:23 以色列人就從拿弗他利、亞設，和瑪拿西全地聚集來追趕米甸人。
And the men of Israel were called out from Naph'tali and from Asher and from all Manas'seh, and they pursued after Mid'ian.
7:24 基甸打發人走遍以法蓮山地，說：「你們下來攻擊米甸人，爭先把守約旦河的渡口，直到伯•巴拉。」於是以法蓮的眾人聚集，把守約旦河的渡口，直到伯•巴拉，
And Gideon sent messengers throughout all the hill country of E'phraim, saying, "Come down against the Mid'ianites and seize the waters against them, as far as Beth-bar'ah, and also the Jordan." So all the men of E'phraim were called out, and they seized the waters as far as Beth-bar'ah, and also the Jordan.
7:25 捉住了米甸人的兩個首領：一名俄立，一名西伊伯；將俄立殺在俄立磐石上，將西伊伯殺在西伊伯酒醡那裡；又追趕米甸人，將俄立和西伊伯的首級帶過約旦河，到基甸那裡。
And they took the two princes of Mid'ian, Oreb and Zeeb; they killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb they killed at the wine press of Zeeb, as they pursued Mid'ian; and they brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon beyond the Jordan.

士師記 6:12 耶和華的使者向基甸顯現，對他說：「大能的勇士啊，耶和華與你同在！」
回覆刪除士師記 7:4 耶和華對基甸說：「人還是過多；你要帶他們下到水旁，我好在那裡為你試試(צָרַף / ṣarap ) 他們。我指點誰說：『這人可以同你去』，他就可以同你去；我指點誰說：『這人不可同你去』，他就不可同你去。」上帝在第四節確實提及這種『試驗』。這個希伯來字(צָרַף (ṣā∙rǎp̄): v.)一向與金屬的鍛鍊過程有關。這不是考試及格與不及格的問題，而是全面加以甄別的過程，也是為了從廢料多而可用的金屬少的情況下，提煉有用金屬的一種過程。正如箴言 25:4 所說：「除去銀子的渣滓就有銀子出來，銀匠能以做器皿。」銀子若含有渣滓，這個不純淨的東西，必須完全地被除掉。銀匠才能打造它成為一個有用的器皿。 同樣地，我們必須信靠耶和華，祂將為你爭戰。 但要成為神國大能的勇士啊，要有耶和華的同在，除了信靠耶和華之外，還有條件的。那就是要經得起上帝的試驗，祂要把我們放在一個大熔爐裡，試驗我們，把我們身上各樣不好的渣滓，完全除淨，祂才會收納我們，祂要作我們的父，我們要作祂的兒女。(林後六17～18節)，作神合用的器皿，預備作善工。
