The Sundial Miracle

經文: 列王記下 20:19 希西家對以賽亞說：「你所說耶和華的話甚好！若在我的年日中有太平和穩固的景況，豈不是好嗎？
默想: 這一章經文讓我們看到希西家王晚年的屬靈經歷。當他得病將死之前，向耶和華迫切禱告，蒙耶和華垂聽。耶和華甚至將他對希西家王既定的必死心意回轉，經由先知以賽亞傳達給希西家王，耶和華願意多留給希西家王十五年的壽命。希西家王還向耶和華要了一個天文學方面的神蹟，就是讓日影後退十度，以此來堅定希西家王的信心。但是，十分讓我們感到遺憾的是，希西家王從耶和華所得到這十五年的光陰，並沒有給我們留下什麼屬靈的榜樣，只是當巴比倫國王巴拉但的兒子比羅達巴拉但，拿禮物來探望希西家王時，他很高興的將寶庫與武庫一切所有，都展示給巴比倫王子觀看，結果是招致先知的責罵，以及預言南國猶大將被巴比倫滅亡的結局，並且希西家王後代會有人被擄到巴比倫，成為太監。希西家王聽到這個審判性的宣告時，卻沒有為國家以及後代的災難，向耶和華認罪，迫切為猶大國與自己的後代求耶和華施恩拯救。希西家王在聖經所留給我們的最後一句話，竟然是這麼一句：你所說耶和華的話甚好！若在我的年日中有太平和穩固的景況，豈不是好嗎？求主幫助我，不要只注意到自己的安康順利，也能夠為別人的安康順利主前迫切代求。
題目: 先知傳遞死亡宣告，希西家痛哭禱告，求神記念他怎樣存完全的心、按誠實行事。試想，希西家王在上主眼中是何地位？竟讓上主回應所求，加添這將死之人15年的壽命。
20:1 那時，希西家病得要死。亞摩斯的兒子先知以賽亞去見他，對他說：「耶和華如此說：『你當留遺命與你的家，因為你必死，不能活了。』」
In those days Hezeki'ah became sick and was at the point of death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, `Set your house in order; for you shall die, you shall not recover.'"
20:2 希西家就轉臉朝牆，禱告耶和華說：
Then Hezeki'ah turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the LORD, saying,
20:3 「耶和華啊，求你記念我在你面前怎樣存完全的心，按誠實行事，又做你眼中所看為善的。」希西家就痛哭了。
"Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in faithfulness and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in thy sight." And Hezeki'ah wept bitterly.
20:4 以賽亞出來，還沒有到中院【院或作城】，耶和華的話就臨到他，說：
And before Isaiah had gone out of the middle court, the word of the LORD came to him:
20:5 「你回去告訴我民的君希西家說：耶和華─你祖大衛的 神如此說：『我聽見了你的禱告，看見了你的眼淚，我必醫治你；到第三日，你必上到耶和華的殿。
"Turn back, and say to Hezeki'ah the prince of my people, Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD.
20:6 我必加增你十五年的壽數，並且我要救你和這城脫離亞述王的手。我為自己和我僕人大衛的緣故，必保護這城。』」
And I will add fifteen years to your life. I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city for my own sake and for my servant David's sake."
20:7 以賽亞說：「當取一塊無花果餅來。」人就取了來，貼在瘡上，王便痊癒了。
And Isaiah said, "Bring a cake of figs. And let them take and lay it on the boil, that he may recover."
20:8 希西家問以賽亞說：「耶和華必醫治我，到第三日，我能上耶和華的殿，有甚麼兆頭呢？」
And Hezeki'ah said to Isaiah, "What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the LORD on the third day?"
20:9 以賽亞說：「耶和華必成就他所說的。這是他給你的兆頭：你要日影向前進十度呢？是要往後退十度呢？」
And Isaiah said, "This is the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he has promised: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?"
20:10 希西家回答說：「日影向前進十度容易，我要日影往後退十度。」
And Hezeki'ah answered, "It is an easy thing for the shadow to lengthen ten steps; rather let the shadow go back ten steps."
20:11 先知以賽亞求告耶和華，耶和就使亞哈斯的日晷向前進的日影，往後退了十度。
And Isaiah the prophet cried to the LORD; and he brought the shadow back ten steps, by which the sun had declined on the dial of Ahaz.
20:12 那時，巴比倫王巴拉但的兒子比羅達•巴拉但聽見希西家病而痊癒，就送書信和禮物給他。
At that time Mero'dach-bal'adan the son of Bal'adan, king of Babylon, sent envoys with letters and a present to Hezeki'ah; for he heard that Hezeki'ah had been sick.
20:13 希西家聽從使者的話，就把他寶庫的金子、銀子、香料、貴重的膏油，和他武庫的一切軍器，並他所有的財寶，都給他們看。他家中和他全國之內，希西家沒有一樣不給他們看的。
And Hezeki'ah welcomed them, and he showed them all his treasure house, the silver, the gold, the spices, the precious oil, his armory, all that was found in his storehouses; there was nothing in his house or in all his realm that Hezeki'ah did not show them.
20:14 於是先知以賽亞來見希西家王，問他說：「這些人說甚麼？他們從哪裡來見你？」希西家說：「他們從遠方的巴比倫來。」
Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezeki'ah, and said to him, "What did these men say? And whence did they come to you?" And Hezeki'ah said, "They have come from a far country, from Babylon."
20:15 以賽亞說：「他們在你家裡看見了甚麼？」希西家說：「凡我家中所有的，他們都看見了；我財寶中沒有一樣不給他們看的。」
He said, "What have they seen in your house?" And Hezeki'ah answered, "They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing in my storehouses that I did not show them."
20:16 以賽亞對希西家說：「你要聽耶和華的話，
Then Isaiah said to Hezeki'ah, "Hear the word of the LORD:
20:17 日子必到，凡你家裡所有的，並你列祖積蓄到如今的，都要被擄到巴比倫去，不留下一樣。這是耶和華說的。
Behold, the days are coming, when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up till this day, shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left, says the LORD.
20:18 並且從你本身所生的眾子，其中必有被擄去在巴比倫王宮裡當太監的。」
And some of your own sons, who are born to you, shall be taken away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon."
20:19 希西家對以賽亞說：「你所說耶和華的話甚好！若在我的年日中有太平和穩固的景況，豈不是好嗎？」
Then said Hezeki'ah to Isaiah, "The word of the LORD which you have spoken is good." For he thought, "Why not, if there will be peace and security in my days?"
20:20 希西家其餘的事和他的勇力，他怎樣挖池、挖溝、引水入城，都寫在猶大列王記上。
The rest of the deeds of Hezeki'ah, and all his might, and how he made the pool and the conduit and brought water into the city, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
20:21 希西家與他列祖同睡。他兒子瑪拿西接續他作王。
And Hezeki'ah slept with his fathers; and Manas'seh his son reigned in his stead.
In those days Hezeki'ah became sick and was at the point of death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, `Set your house in order; for you shall die, you shall not recover.'"
20:2 希西家就轉臉朝牆，禱告耶和華說：
Then Hezeki'ah turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the LORD, saying,
20:3 「耶和華啊，求你記念我在你面前怎樣存完全的心，按誠實行事，又做你眼中所看為善的。」希西家就痛哭了。
"Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in faithfulness and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in thy sight." And Hezeki'ah wept bitterly.
20:4 以賽亞出來，還沒有到中院【院或作城】，耶和華的話就臨到他，說：
And before Isaiah had gone out of the middle court, the word of the LORD came to him:
20:5 「你回去告訴我民的君希西家說：耶和華─你祖大衛的 神如此說：『我聽見了你的禱告，看見了你的眼淚，我必醫治你；到第三日，你必上到耶和華的殿。
"Turn back, and say to Hezeki'ah the prince of my people, Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD.
20:6 我必加增你十五年的壽數，並且我要救你和這城脫離亞述王的手。我為自己和我僕人大衛的緣故，必保護這城。』」
And I will add fifteen years to your life. I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city for my own sake and for my servant David's sake."
20:7 以賽亞說：「當取一塊無花果餅來。」人就取了來，貼在瘡上，王便痊癒了。
And Isaiah said, "Bring a cake of figs. And let them take and lay it on the boil, that he may recover."
20:8 希西家問以賽亞說：「耶和華必醫治我，到第三日，我能上耶和華的殿，有甚麼兆頭呢？」
And Hezeki'ah said to Isaiah, "What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the LORD on the third day?"
20:9 以賽亞說：「耶和華必成就他所說的。這是他給你的兆頭：你要日影向前進十度呢？是要往後退十度呢？」
And Isaiah said, "This is the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he has promised: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?"
20:10 希西家回答說：「日影向前進十度容易，我要日影往後退十度。」
And Hezeki'ah answered, "It is an easy thing for the shadow to lengthen ten steps; rather let the shadow go back ten steps."
20:11 先知以賽亞求告耶和華，耶和就使亞哈斯的日晷向前進的日影，往後退了十度。
And Isaiah the prophet cried to the LORD; and he brought the shadow back ten steps, by which the sun had declined on the dial of Ahaz.
20:12 那時，巴比倫王巴拉但的兒子比羅達•巴拉但聽見希西家病而痊癒，就送書信和禮物給他。
At that time Mero'dach-bal'adan the son of Bal'adan, king of Babylon, sent envoys with letters and a present to Hezeki'ah; for he heard that Hezeki'ah had been sick.

20:14 於是先知以賽亞來見希西家王，問他說：「這些人說甚麼？他們從哪裡來見你？」希西家說：「他們從遠方的巴比倫來。」
Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezeki'ah, and said to him, "What did these men say? And whence did they come to you?" And Hezeki'ah said, "They have come from a far country, from Babylon."
20:15 以賽亞說：「他們在你家裡看見了甚麼？」希西家說：「凡我家中所有的，他們都看見了；我財寶中沒有一樣不給他們看的。」
He said, "What have they seen in your house?" And Hezeki'ah answered, "They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing in my storehouses that I did not show them."
20:16 以賽亞對希西家說：「你要聽耶和華的話，
Then Isaiah said to Hezeki'ah, "Hear the word of the LORD:
20:17 日子必到，凡你家裡所有的，並你列祖積蓄到如今的，都要被擄到巴比倫去，不留下一樣。這是耶和華說的。
Behold, the days are coming, when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up till this day, shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left, says the LORD.
20:18 並且從你本身所生的眾子，其中必有被擄去在巴比倫王宮裡當太監的。」
And some of your own sons, who are born to you, shall be taken away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon."
20:19 希西家對以賽亞說：「你所說耶和華的話甚好！若在我的年日中有太平和穩固的景況，豈不是好嗎？」
Then said Hezeki'ah to Isaiah, "The word of the LORD which you have spoken is good." For he thought, "Why not, if there will be peace and security in my days?"
20:20 希西家其餘的事和他的勇力，他怎樣挖池、挖溝、引水入城，都寫在猶大列王記上。
The rest of the deeds of Hezeki'ah, and all his might, and how he made the pool and the conduit and brought water into the city, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
20:21 希西家與他列祖同睡。他兒子瑪拿西接續他作王。
