經文: 利未記 11:44-47 我是耶和華你們的神；所以你們要成為聖潔，因為我是聖潔的。你們也不可在地上的爬物污穢自己。我是把你們從埃及地領出來的耶和華，要作你們的神；所以你們要聖潔，因為我是聖潔的。這是走獸、飛鳥，和水中游動的活物，並地上爬物的條例。要把潔淨的和不潔淨的，可吃的與不可吃的活物，都分別出來。
默想: 在亞倫的兩個兒子拿答與亞比戶任意獻上凡火而被耶和華的聖火燒死的事件之後，耶和華開始經由摩西，詳細教導以色列人當如何吃食物。我相信雖然摩西所吩咐的潔淨與不潔淨的食物的種類與區別時，以色列人一定都非常仔細的聆聽，也作好筆記，並且鉅細靡遺的確實遵行。因為拿答與亞比戶的前車之鑒，還是歷歷在目。聖潔的重點在於有所分別。最大的分別，在於我們是否完全的遵行耶和華的命令，來過我們日常生活的每一個細節。
題目: 上帝為何要向以色列人頒佈這樣的食物律法？今日我們怎應用這樣的原則？(參11:44-45、彼前1:15-16)
11:1 耶和華對摩西、亞倫說：
And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
11:2 「你們曉諭以色列人說，在地上一切走獸中可吃的乃是這些：
"Say to the people of Israel, These are the living things which you may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
11:3 凡蹄分兩瓣、倒嚼的走獸，你們都可以吃。
Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat.
11:4 但那倒嚼或分蹄之中不可吃的乃是：駱駝─因為倒嚼不分蹄，就與你們不潔淨；
Nevertheless among those that chew the cud or part the hoof, you shall not eat these: The camel, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.
11:5 沙番─因為倒嚼不分蹄，就與你們不潔淨；
And the rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.
11:6 兔子─因為倒嚼不分蹄，就與你們不潔淨；
And the hare, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.
11:7 豬─因為蹄分兩瓣，卻不倒嚼，就與你們不潔淨。
And the swine, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you.
11:8 這些獸的肉，你們不可吃；死的，你們不可摸，都與你們不潔淨。
Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.
11:9 水中可吃的乃是這些：凡在水裡、海裡、河裡、有翅有鱗的，都可以吃。
"These you may eat, of all that are in the waters. Everything in the waters that has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat.
11:10 凡在海裡、河裡，並一切水裡游動的活物，無翅無鱗的，你們都當以為可憎。
But anything in the seas or the rivers that has not fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is an abomination to you.
11:11 這些無翅無鱗、以為可憎的，你們不可吃牠的肉；死的也當以為可憎。
They shall remain an abomination to you; of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall have in abomination.
11:12 凡水裡無翅無鱗的，你們都當以為可憎。
Everything in the waters that has not fins and scales is an abomination to you.
11:13 「雀鳥中你們當以為可憎、不可吃的乃是：鵰、狗頭鵰、紅頭鵰、
"And these you shall have in abomination among the birds, they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey,
11:14 鷂鷹、小鷹與其類；
the kite, the falcon according to its kind,
11:15 烏鴉與其類；
every raven according to its kind,
11:16 鴕鳥、夜鷹、魚鷹、鷹與其類；
the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk according to its kind,
11:17 鴞鳥、鸕鶿、貓頭鷹、
the owl, the cormorant, the ibis,
11:18 角鴟、鵜鶘、禿鵰、
the water hen, the pelican, the carrion vulture,
11:19 鸛、鷺鷥與其類；戴鵀與蝙蝠。
the stork, the heron according to its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.
11:20 「凡有翅膀用四足爬行的物，你們都當以為可憎。
"All winged insects that go upon all fours are an abomination to you.
11:21 只是有翅膀用四足爬行的物中，有足有腿，在地上蹦跳的，你們還可以吃。
Yet among the winged insects that go on all fours you may eat those which have legs above their feet, with which to leap on the earth.
11:22 其中有蝗蟲、螞蚱、蟋蟀與其類；蚱蜢與其類；這些你們都可以吃。
Of them you may eat: the locust according to its kind, the bald locust according to its kind, the cricket according to its kind, and the grasshopper according to its kind.
11:23 但是有翅膀有四足的爬物，你們都當以為可憎。
But all other winged insects which have four feet are an abomination to you.
11:24 「這些都能使你們不潔淨。凡摸了死的，必不潔淨到晚上。
"And by these you shall become unclean; whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening,
11:25 凡拿了死的，必不潔淨到晚上，並要洗衣服。
and whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.
11:26 凡走獸分蹄不成兩瓣、也不倒嚼的，是與你們不潔淨；凡摸了的就不潔淨。
Every animal which parts the hoof but is not cloven-footed or does not chew the cud is unclean to you; every one who touches them shall be unclean.
11:27 凡四足的走獸，用掌行走的，是與你們不潔淨；摸其屍的，必不潔淨到晚上。
And all that go on their paws, among the animals that go on all fours, are unclean to you; whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening,
11:28 拿其屍的，必不潔淨到晚上，並要洗衣服。這些是與你們不潔淨的。
and he who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; they are unclean to you.
11:29 「地上爬物與你們不潔淨的乃是這些：鼬鼠、鼫鼠、蜥蜴與其類；
"And these are unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm upon the earth: the weasel, the mouse, the great lizard according to its kind,
11:30 壁虎、龍子、守宮、蛇醫、蝘蜓。
the gecko, the land crocodile, the lizard, the sand lizard, and the chameleon.
11:31 這些爬物都是與你們不潔淨的。在牠死了以後，凡摸了的，必不潔淨到晚上。
These are unclean to you among all that swarm; whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening.
11:32 其中死了的，掉在甚麼東西上，這東西就不潔淨，無論是木器、衣服、皮子、口袋，不拘是做甚麼工用的器皿，須要放在水中，必不潔淨到晚上，到晚上才潔淨了。
And anything upon which any of them falls when they are dead shall be unclean, whether it is an article of wood or a garment or a skin or a sack, any vessel that is used for any purpose; it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it shall be clean.
11:33 若有死了掉在瓦器裡的，其中不拘有甚麼，就不潔淨，你們要把這瓦器打破了。
And if any of them falls into any earthen vessel, all that is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it.
11:34 其中一切可吃的食物，沾水的就不潔淨，並且那樣器皿中一切可喝的，也必不潔淨。
Any food in it which may be eaten, upon which water may come, shall be unclean; and all drink which may be drunk from every such vessel shall be unclean.
11:35 其中已死的，若有一點掉在甚麼物件上，那物件就不潔淨，不拘是爐子，是鍋臺，就要打碎，都不潔淨，也必與你們不潔淨。
And everything upon which any part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven or stove, it shall be broken in pieces; they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.
11:36 但是泉源或是聚水的池子仍是潔淨；惟挨了那死的，就不潔淨。
Nevertheless a spring or a cistern holding water shall be clean; but whatever touches their carcass shall be unclean.
11:37 若是死的，有一點掉在要種的子粒上，子粒仍是潔淨；
And if any part of their carcass falls upon any seed for sowing that is to be sown, it is clean;
11:38 若水已經澆在子粒上，那死的有一點掉在上頭，這子粒就與你們不潔淨。
but if water is put on the seed and any part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.
11:39 「你們可吃的走獸若是死了，有人摸牠，必不潔淨到晚上；
"And if any animal of which you may eat dies, he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening,
11:40 有人吃那死了的走獸，必不潔淨到晚上，並要洗衣服；拿了死走獸的，必不潔淨到晚上，並要洗衣服。
and he who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; he also who carries the carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.
11:41 「凡地上的爬物是可憎的，都不可吃。
"Every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
11:42 凡用肚子行走的和用四足行走的，或是有許多足的，就是一切爬在地上的，你們都不可吃，因為是可憎的。
Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, all the swarming things that swarm upon the earth, you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
11:43 你們不可因甚麼爬物使自己成為可憎的，也不可因這些使自己不潔淨，以致染了污穢。
You shall not make yourselves abominable with any swarming thing that swarms; and you shall not defile yourselves with them, lest you become unclean.
11:44 我是耶和華─你們的 神；所以你們要成為聖潔，因為我是聖潔的。你們也不可在地上的爬物污穢自己。
For I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy. You shall not defile yourselves with any swarming thing that crawls upon the earth.
11:45 我是把你們從埃及地領出來的耶和華，要作你們的 神；所以你們要聖潔，因為我是聖潔的。
For I am the LORD who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy."
11:46 這是走獸、飛鳥，和水中游動的活物，並地上爬物的條例。
This is the law pertaining to beast and bird and every living creature that moves through the waters and every creature that swarms upon the earth,
11:47 要把潔淨的和不潔淨的，可吃的與不可吃的活物，都分別出來。
to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean and between the living creature that may be eaten and the living creature that may not be eaten.
And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
11:2 「你們曉諭以色列人說，在地上一切走獸中可吃的乃是這些：
"Say to the people of Israel, These are the living things which you may eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
11:3 凡蹄分兩瓣、倒嚼的走獸，你們都可以吃。
Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat.
11:4 但那倒嚼或分蹄之中不可吃的乃是：駱駝─因為倒嚼不分蹄，就與你們不潔淨；
Nevertheless among those that chew the cud or part the hoof, you shall not eat these: The camel, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you.
11:5 沙番─因為倒嚼不分蹄，就與你們不潔淨；

11:9 水中可吃的乃是這些：凡在水裡、海裡、河裡、有翅有鱗的，都可以吃。
"These you may eat, of all that are in the waters. Everything in the waters that has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat.
11:10 凡在海裡、河裡，並一切水裡游動的活物，無翅無鱗的，你們都當以為可憎。
But anything in the seas or the rivers that has not fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is an abomination to you.

11:41 「凡地上的爬物是可憎的，都不可吃。
"Every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth is an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
11:42 凡用肚子行走的和用四足行走的，或是有許多足的，就是一切爬在地上的，你們都不可吃，因為是可憎的。
Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, all the swarming things that swarm upon the earth, you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
11:43 你們不可因甚麼爬物使自己成為可憎的，也不可因這些使自己不潔淨，以致染了污穢。
You shall not make yourselves abominable with any swarming thing that swarms; and you shall not defile yourselves with them, lest you become unclean.
11:44 我是耶和華─你們的 神；所以你們要成為聖潔，因為我是聖潔的。你們也不可在地上的爬物污穢自己。
